## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Shopify Products Pro

Pull the full product catalog of any Shopify store over its public `/products.json` endpoint. No login, no API key, no proxy. One run crawls multiple stores and gives you pricing, variants, SKUs, availability, tags, options, images, and publish/update timestamps for every product.

**Better than the incumbents:** [autofacts/shopify](https://apify.com/autofacts/shopify), the demand leader at 2.4K users, holds a 4.2 rating across 7 reviews and leans on residential proxies, minor-unit prices (2000 means $20.00), and paid add-ons for inventory detail. [trovevault/shopify-products-scraper](https://apify.com/trovevault/shopify-products-scraper) ($0.85/1,000) gates exact inventory behind a paid "Exact Inventory & Deep Details" add-on. This actor keeps it simple: no proxy, human-readable prices (38.00, not 3800), variant detail (price, compare-at price, SKU, availability, option values) included on every row at no extra charge, a normalized price range per product, cleaned description text, multi-store batching in one run, and a hard `maxItems` cap so you never pay for more rows than you asked for.

### Use cases

- Competitor and dropship catalog monitoring across many stores in one run.
- Price and variant tracking (compare-at discounts, SKU availability) for repricing tools.
- Merchandising and SEO research: tags, product types, publish dates, image URLs.
- Building niche product databases for ads, marketplaces, or AI training data.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `storeUrls` | array of strings | gymshark.com, allbirds.com | Shopify store domains or URLs, e.g. `gymshark.com` or `https://allbirds.com`. |
| `maxItems` | integer | 10 | Hard cap on total product rows across all stores. The run stops at the cap. |
| `includeVariants` | boolean | true | Embed each product's variants (price, SKU, availability, option values). |
| `includeImages` | boolean | true | Include up to 10 image URLs per product. |

### Output

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| `store`, `storeUrl` | The store the product came from. |
| `productId`, `title`, `handle`, `url` | Product identity and public product URL. |
| `vendor`, `productType`, `tags` | Brand and merchandising metadata. |
| `priceMin`, `priceMax`, `variantsCount` | Normalized price range across variants. |
| `variants` | Up to 25 variants: variantId, title, optionValues, price, compareAtPrice, SKU, barcode, available, grams, position. |
| `options` | Option names and values (size, color, ...). |
| `images` | Up to 10 image URLs. |
| `bodyText` | Description with HTML stripped, up to 400 characters. |
| `publishedAt`, `createdAt`, `updatedAt` | Catalog timestamps. |

### Pricing

- **$0.005 per run** (actor start)
- **$0.0009 per product row** (about $0.90 per 1,000 products)

Non-Shopify or unreachable stores are skipped and never billed. The run stops at your `maxItems` cap, so you are never charged for rows you did not receive.

### FAQ

**Does it work on every Shopify store?** Every store that exposes the public `/products.json` catalog endpoint, which is the overwhelming majority of Shopify storefronts. Stores that disable it are skipped without being charged.

**Can I crawl multiple stores in one run?** Yes. Add as many domains to `storeUrls` as you like; rows carry the `store` field so results stay separated.

**Do I need an API key or login?** No. The actor reads the public catalog endpoint with browser-like headers.

**How many products can I get?** Set `maxItems` up to 5,000 per run. Increase memory for very large catalogs.

**Do variants count as rows?** No. Billing counts products; variants are embedded in the product row free.

# Actor input Schema

## `storeUrls` (type: `array`):

One or more Shopify store domains or URLs, e.g. gymshark.com or https://allbirds.com. Products are pulled from each store's public /products.json endpoint.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Hard cap on total product rows pushed across all stores. The run stops as soon as the cap is hit so you never pay for results you didn't ask for.

## `includeVariants` (type: `boolean`):

Set true to embed each product's variants (price, SKU, availability, option values) in its row.

## `includeImages` (type: `boolean`):

Set true to include up to 10 image URLs per product.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "maxItems": 10,
  "includeVariants": true,
  "includeImages": true
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Product rows: title, vendor, product type, tags, price range, variants with SKUs and availability, options, image URLs, publish/update timestamps, and the store they came from.
