## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Trustpilot Reviews Scraper Pro

Scrape Trustpilot reviews for any company with **star, date, language, verified, replied-to and keyword filters applied before billing**. You pay only for reviews that match. **$0.35 per 1,000 reviews**, about half what the most-used Trustpilot actor charges.

**Why this one:** the most popular Trustpilot scraper on the Apify Store charges $0.50 to $0.75 per 1,000 reviews plus add-ons. This actor charges $0.35 per 1,000, never bills a filtered-out review, and pulls the 1-star complaints first when you slice by star, so the data you actually need is never crowded out by 5-star noise.

### What you get

- Reviews for any business on Trustpilot: paste a domain (`amazon.com`) or the Trustpilot URL
- Filters that run on Trustpilot's side: star rating, date range, language, keyword, verified only, replied-to only
- Exact cutoff date (`reviewsSince`) for cheap daily incremental syncs: older reviews are skipped and not charged
- **Star slicing**: Trustpilot shows anonymous visitors 200 reviews per view. When you ask for more than 200, the actor scrapes each star rating separately (up to 5 x 200 = 1,000 per language), balances them, and de-duplicates
- Company TrustScore and total review count on every row, so multi-company runs drop straight into a spreadsheet
- Company reply text and date, reviewer country and review count
- Fast HTTP scraping, no browser, multiple companies in parallel

### Input

| Field | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| `companies` | list | Domains (`www.amazon.com`) or Trustpilot review URLs. Required. |
| `maxReviewsPerCompany` | number | Hard cap per company (default 200, max 5,000). |
| `stars` | list | Only these ratings, e.g. `["1","2"]` for complaints. Empty = all. |
| `dateRange` | select | `all`, `last30days`, `last3months`, `last6months`, `last12months`. |
| `reviewsSince` | date | Exact cutoff (YYYY-MM-DD). Older reviews are never charged. |
| `language` | text | `en`, `de`, `fr`, `es`... or `all`. Default `en`. |
| `keyword` | text | Only reviews mentioning a word, e.g. `refund`, `delivery`. |
| `verifiedOnly` | boolean | Only verified reviews. |
| `withRepliesOnly` | boolean | Only reviews the company replied to. |
| `sliceByStar` | boolean | Get past the 200-review view limit (default on). |

Example:

```json
{
  "companies": ["www.amazon.com", "https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.zalando.co.uk"],
  "maxReviewsPerCompany": 500,
  "stars": ["1", "2"],
  "dateRange": "last3months",
  "keyword": "refund"
}
```

### Output

One row per review:

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `companyDomain` | www.amazon.com |
| `companyTrustScore` | 1.6 |
| `companyTotalReviews` | 49517 |
| `reviewId` / `reviewUrl` | 6abc76ee... / https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/6abc76ee... |
| `rating` | 1 |
| `title`, `text` | Full review title and body |
| `language` | en |

| `replyText`, `replyDate` | Company reply, if any |
| `scrapedAt` | Timestamp |

Export as JSON, CSV, Excel, or pull it through the API, n8n, Make, Zapier or an MCP client.

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

- **$0.005** per run start
- **$0.00035 per review** saved ($0.35 per 1,000)

1,000 complaint reviews for a competitor costs about 36 cents. Filtered-out reviews are free.

### Use cases

- **Competitor complaint mining**: pull every 1 and 2-star review mentioning "refund" or "delivery" for your top five competitors
- **Brand monitoring**: daily run with `reviewsSince` set to yesterday, piped to Slack or a sheet
- **Lead generation**: find businesses with low TrustScores and no replies to negative reviews
- **AI and LLM data**: clean review text with ratings for sentiment models and RAG pipelines
- **Customer support QA**: see which complaints your team replied to and which it didn't

### FAQ

**How many reviews can I get per company?**
Trustpilot shows anonymous visitors 10 pages (200 reviews) per filtered view. With star slicing on, you get up to 1,000 per language. Narrowing by date range, keyword or language opens more views. For most businesses under about 1,000 reviews per language that means everything.

**Do I pay for reviews my filters remove?**
No. Filtering happens before anything is saved or charged.

**Why do I need the UNBLOCKER proxy?**
Trustpilot blocks datacenter and ordinary residential IPs. The default proxy setting is the one that works, keep it.

**Which Trustpilot domains work?**
Any business profile on trustpilot.com, including regional companies like `www.zalando.co.uk`. Paste the domain exactly as it appears in the Trustpilot URL.

**Is scraping Trustpilot legal?**
The actor collects only publicly visible reviews and no login is used. Personal data rules (GDPR and similar) still apply to how you store and use reviewer names, so check with your counsel for your use case.
