## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Moldova Company Registry Lookup

Look up any company in Moldova's **State Register of Legal Entities** (Agenția
Servicii Publice) by IDNO or name and get a clean JSON record: legal form,
registration date, address, **directors with roles, founders with share
percentages**, activity codes, and liquidation status, from the official weekly
open-data publication, with the snapshot date and file hash on every record.

### What you can do with it

- **KYB / ownership checks**: founders and their shares, directors and roles, straight
  from the state's own publication; Moldova is one of the few registers in the region
  that publishes ownership shares openly.
- **Sanctions and due-diligence screening**: names and roles ready for watchlist
  screening; liquidation date to catch dissolved counterparties.
- **Bulk verification**: the index is served from a weekly snapshot, so lookups are
  fast and never hit the government site; run thousands without rate limits.
- **AI agents**: available as an MCP tool.

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `idno` | string | 13-digit IDNO / fiscal code; takes precedence over `query`. |
| `query` | string | Full or partial name; diacritics optional. |
| `maxResults` | integer | Max companies to return and charge for (default 10). |
| `includeLiquidated` | boolean | Include dissolved companies (default true). |

### Output (abridged, illustrative until first production runs are published)

```json
{
  "resultType": "company",
  "country": "MD",
  "companyNumber": "1003600000000",
  "nameLatin": "…",
  "legalForm": "LLC",
  "status": "active",
  "statusMethod": "derived",
  "registeredAt": "2003-05-12",
  "address": "MD-2001, CHIȘINĂU, …",
    { "entityType": "person", "nameLatin": "…", "role": "founder", "sharePercent": 60, "isCurrent": true },
    { "entityType": "company", "nameLatin": "… S.R.L.", "role": "founder", "sharePercent": 40, "isCurrent": true }
  ],
  "activityCodes": ["4711", "4719"],
  "match": { "method": "name_contains_folded", "score": 0.85, "ambiguous": true, "candidates": 4 },
  "evidence": { "sourceUrl": "https://dataset.gov.md/…/company_2026.08.24.xlsx", "registryAsOf": "2026-08-24", "sha256": "<row hash>", "fileSha256": "<file hash>" }
}
```

Result types: `company`, `not_found` (the snapshot has no match), `unavailable` (index
missing, run also fails; never a negative).

### Freshness, scope, legality

- Data comes from ASP's weekly open-data file (published every Monday); `registryAsOf`
  tells you the snapshot date. Status is **derived** from the liquidation-date column;
  suspension/insolvency states are not in the open data.
- The file contains names, roles and shares as published by the state; it contains no
  personal identification numbers, and we add none. Rectification/takedown requests
  are honoured per Moldovan data-protection law.
- Licence and attribution: the dataset is published by the Public Services Agency of the
  Republic of Moldova (Agentia Servicii Publice) on the government open data portal. In
  letter no. 01/8060 of 17 September 2026 the Agency confirmed in writing that the data may
  be accessed, downloaded, re-used and redistributed, including for commercial purposes,
  under the Government standard open data licence (Law no. 109/2025 on open data and the
  re-use of public sector information), with no further approval needed. Every record names
  the source file and the snapshot date it came from.

### Pricing

Pay per event: one `lookup` per query the index answered (including `not_found`), one
`company-record` per company returned. A query that ends `unavailable` because the index
could not be read is not charged and returns no records.
