## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Company Job Board Feeds

**Hiring signals for the companies you track.** Give it a list of companies that use Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby, and get back each one's current open roles as clean, deduplicated records in one schema, without any personal data.

This is a **job-monitoring and hiring-signal tool**: see when a competitor opens a sales team in Berlin, when a prospect starts hiring data engineers, or when a portfolio company slows hiring. It is not a job board, and it does not replace one. Every record keeps the employer's name and the canonical link to the original posting.

### Why use it

- **One schema for three ATS providers.** Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby return different shapes. This Actor maps them to the same fields: title, department, team, locations, workplace type, employment type, salary (when the employer publishes it), and dates in ISO 8601.
- **Reliable.** Each company runs in isolation, so one broken board never fails the run. Failures on 429 and 5xx responses are retried with exponential backoff and jitter, up to 4 times. Every failure produces an explicit `error` record, so you can see what happened, and you are not charged for it. A `summary` record closes every run.
- **No personal data by design.** Recruiter, owner and hiring-manager fields are never read; the parser keeps a fixed allow-list of fields. Description text, when you ask for it, is stripped of emails, phone numbers, LinkedIn and Calendly links, photo URLs and phrases such as "reports to *Name*". Scrubbing is conservative: generic company addresses like `jobs@company.com` are removed too.
- **Polite.** The Actor uses only official public job-board endpoints. It reads `robots.txt` for every host and honours it, sends no more than one request per second per host (or the host's `Crawl-delay`, if larger), and identifies itself with a descriptive User-Agent.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `companies` | **Required.** The companies you choose to monitor. Each entry can be a careers URL (`https://boards.greenhouse.io/airbnb`, `https://jobs.lever.co/palantir`, `https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openai`), a `provider:token` string (`lever:palantir`), or an object `{"provider": "ashby", "token": "openai", "name": "OpenAI"}`. |
| `includeDescription` | Adds the plain-text description, with personal data scrubbed. Off by default. |
| `maxJobsPerCompany` | Caps the number of records per company, applied after filters. |
| `titleKeywords` | Keeps jobs whose title contains any of these words. |
| `locationContains` | Keeps jobs where any location contains any of these strings. |
| `remoteOnly` | Keeps only remote jobs. |
| `postedWithinDays` | Keeps jobs posted in the last N days. |

The Actor fetches only the boards you list. It never discovers, guesses or enumerates companies.

**Finding a token:** open the company's careers page and follow an "Apply" link. A host of `boards.greenhouse.io/<token>`, `job-boards.greenhouse.io/<token>`, `jobs.lever.co/<token>` or `jobs.ashbyhq.com/<token>` contains the token. Branded careers domains (for example `careers.company.com`) cannot be detected automatically, so pass `provider` and `token` instead.

### Output

Each dataset item has a `type` field:

- **`job`** is one posting, with `provider`, `company`, `job_id`, `title`, `department`, `team`, `locations[]`, `workplace_type` (`remote`, `hybrid` or `onsite`, only when the employer states it), `employment_type`, `salary_min`, `salary_max`, `salary_currency`, `salary_interval`, `posted_at`, `updated_at`, `apply_url`, `job_url`, `description_text` and `scraped_at`.
- **`error`** reports one company that could not be fetched. It carries an `error_code` (`invalid_input`, `not_found`, `blocked`, `robots_disallowed`, `robots_unavailable`, `http_error`, `network_error`, `bad_response` or `parse_error`) and a message. You are not charged for it.
- **`summary`** is one per run, with counts and the duration.

Jobs are deduplicated by `provider` + `job_id` within a run.

```json
{
  "type": "job",
  "provider": "ashby",
  "company": "OpenAI",
  "job_id": "240d459b-696d-43eb-8497-fab3e56ecd9b",
  "title": "Research Engineer",
  "department": "Research",
  "team": "Research",
  "locations": ["San Francisco"],
  "workplace_type": null,
  "employment_type": "full-time",
  "salary_min": 250000, "salary_max": 445000, "salary_currency": "USD", "salary_interval": "year",
  "posted_at": "2025-04-05T00:03:20.653000Z",
  "updated_at": null,
  "apply_url": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openai/240d459b-.../application",
  "job_url": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openai/240d459b-...",
  "description_text": null,
  "scraped_at": "2026-10-24T05:45:13Z"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.003 per `job` record** ($3 per 1,000 jobs), plus a $0.00005 start fee per run. You pay nothing for `error` or `summary` records, and there is no extra charge for platform usage. If you set a maximum cost per run, the Actor stops cleanly when it reaches that limit.

### Field coverage by provider

| Field | Greenhouse | Lever | Ashby |
|---|---|---|---|
| department / team | department | both | both |
| workplace_type | when the employer sets it | yes | when set |
| employment_type | when the employer sets it | yes | yes |
| salary | not published by this endpoint | when published | when published |
| posted_at / updated_at | both | posted (created) | posted |

### Responsible use

- **Public endpoints only.** The Actor reads the official, unauthenticated job-board feeds that employers publish so their openings can be displayed. It never logs in, never uses credentials, and never circumvents access controls. A 401 or 403 response, a captcha, a bot challenge or a `robots.txt` disallow ends the attempt for that company with an `error` record. Nothing is retried around a block.
- **You are responsible for your use.** You decide which companies to monitor and what you do with the results. You must comply with applicable law and with the terms of the sites involved. For any personal data that reaches you despite the scrubbing, you are the data controller under the GDPR.
- **No republishing of databases.** Do not use the output to build or republish a competing job board, or a copy of an employer's or provider's job database. Link to the canonical posting (`job_url`) instead of copying postings wholesale.
- **Not for AI training.** Some providers' terms prohibit using their content for AI or ML training. Do not use the output for that purpose.
- **Takedown and contact:** open an issue on the Issues tab of this Actor's page (https://apify.com/reliable-apps/company-job-board-feeds/issues). Employers or providers who want a board excluded can write to us, and we will act on the request promptly.

### Limitations

- Supports Greenhouse, Lever (including the EU instance) and Ashby. Other ATS providers are not supported.
- Provider is detected from board URLs only. Branded careers sites need `provider` and `token`.
- Greenhouse's list endpoint does not include pay ranges.
- PII scrubbing in free text is best-effort pattern matching. Structured personal fields are excluded completely.

Each entry is either a careers/board URL (e.g. "https://boards.greenhouse.io/airbnb", "https://jobs.lever.co/palantir", "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openai"), a "provider:token" string (e.g. "lever:palantir"), or an object {"provider": "greenhouse|lever|ashby", "token": "...", "name": "Display name"}. The Actor only fetches the boards you list; it never discovers or enumerates companies.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Add the job description as plain text (HTML stripped; emails, phone numbers, profile/booking links, photo URLs and named-person phrases removed).

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Upper limit of job records per company (after filters). Leave empty for all.

## `titleKeywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title contains any of these words (case-insensitive).
