## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Chileautos Scraper

> **Unofficial.** This Actor is not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by, or in any
> way officially connected to Chileautos or its owner. "Chileautos" is a trademark of its
> respective owner and is used here only to describe what this tool reads. It reads the same
> public listings a browser does.

Chileautos Scraper reads vehicle listings from chileautos.cl, Chile's car classifieds site, and returns one clean row per listing: price, currency, year, mileage, fuel, transmission, body type, region, seller type and the listing link.

### What does it do?

You choose the filters the site itself offers (vehicle type, make, model, condition, region, seller type, fuel, price, year, mileage, sort order) and how many listings you want. The Actor walks the result pages and saves each listing as a dataset row. It never opens listing detail pages, so it is fast and cheap.

### Why use it?

- **Every filter the site has.** Make and model, region, dealer or private seller, new or used, price, year and mileage ranges.
- **More than 900 listings per search.** The site stops at 50 pages of 18 listings for any one search. Ask for more and the Actor cuts the search into price slices and reads each one.
- **Fails loudly.** A make or model the site does not know stops the run with a message, instead of quietly returning every vehicle on the site.
- **Clean fields.** Year, price and mileage are numbers. Missing values are `null`, never `0`.

### How to use it

1. Pick a vehicle type, and optionally a make, model, region or price range.
2. Set `maxItems` to how many listings you want.
3. Run the Actor and download the dataset as JSON, CSV, Excel or NDJSON.

#### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `vehicleType` | select | `all`, `autos`, `motos`, `camiones`, `buses`, `maquinarias`, `casas-rodantes`, `nautica`, `aereos`. Default `all`. |
| `make` | string | Brand as chileautos.cl names it, for example `Toyota`. Empty means every make. |
| `model` | string | Model inside the make, for example `Hilux`. Needs a make. |
| `condition` | select | `any`, `new`, `used`. |
| `region` | select | One of Chile's regions, or `any`. |
| `sellerType` | select | `any`, `dealer`, `private`, `verified-private`. |
| `fuel` | select | `any`, `gasoline`, `diesel`, `electric`, `gas`, `hybrid`, `other`. |
| `minPrice`, `maxPrice` | integer | Listed price range. The site compares the listed number whatever the currency. |
| `minYear`, `maxYear` | integer | Model year range. |
| `minKm`, `maxKm` | integer | Odometer range in kilometres. |
| `sortBy` | select | `featured`, `price-asc`, `price-desc`, `year-desc`, `year-asc`, `km-asc`, `km-desc`, `make-model-az`, `make-model-za`. |
| `maxItems` | integer | Listings to save. Default 100. |
| `includeKeywords`, `excludeKeywords` | array | Keep or drop listings by words in the title, version, make, model, body type or dealer name. Accent and case insensitive. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Apify Unblocker (the default). |

#### Output

Sample row (a real listing read on 2026-10-21):

```json
{
  "id": "CL-AD-21005905",
  "url": "https://www.chileautos.cl/vehiculos/detalles/2026-toyota-yaris-1-5-e-4x2-sdn-mt-4p/CL-AD-21005905/",
  "title": "2026 Toyota Yaris",
  "trim": "1.5 E 4X2 SDN MT 4P",
  "make": "Toyota",
  "model": "Yaris",
  "year": 2026,
  "price": 12800000,
  "currency": "CLP",
  "odometerKm": 3700,
  "fuelType": "Bencina",
  "transmission": "Manual",
  "bodyType": "Sedán",
  "fuelEconomy": "16,9 Kms/Lt.",
  "condition": null,
  "sellerType": "private",
  "sellerName": null,
  "region": "Metropolitana de Santiago",
  "imageUrl": "https://chileautos.pxcrush.net/chileautos/cars/private/azlhefud9wald3p8l8dwrt5uu.jpg?pxc_method=fitfill&pxc_bgtype=self&pxc_size=432,288",
  "imageCount": 8,
  "badges": [],
  "page": 1,
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-21T14:00:00+00:00"
}
```

`condition` is `new` or `used` for dealer listings and `null` for private ones, which the site does not label. `sellerName` is the dealer's business name; private sellers show only "Particular", so it is `null`. `price` is in the currency shown in `currency` (CLP or USD).

### Good to know

- **About 900 listings per search without slicing.** Past that the Actor slices by price. A listing with no price cannot be reached by a price slice, so a very large run can miss those.
- **The price filter compares raw numbers.** A listing priced in US dollars is compared by its dollar amount, as the site does.
- **The default `featured` sort is random per request.** Duplicates are removed by listing id. Use another sort for a stable order.
- **No keyword search and no start URLs yet.** Filter by make, model and the other fields above.
- **No detail-page data.** Descriptions, full photo galleries and seller phone numbers are not read.
- **Reaching the site needs Apify Unblocker.** The site's bot protection blocks plain, datacenter and residential connections in testing.

### Privacy

Rows carry what the public search page shows. Dealer business names are public business data and are included. Private sellers appear only as "Particular": no personal name, phone or email is read.

### Pricing

Pay per result: you are charged per listing saved, plus a small fee per run start.

# Actor input Schema

## `vehicleType` (type: `string`):

Which kind of vehicle to read. 'all' covers every kind the site lists; the other values are the site's own vehicle-type filter.

## `make` (type: `string`):

Brand exactly as chileautos.cl names it, for example Toyota, Hyundai, Alfa Romeo. Leave empty for every make. A make the site does not know stops the run with an error instead of returning other vehicles.

## `model` (type: `string`):

Model inside the make, for example Hilux or Corolla. Needs a make. Spelled as the site lists it.

## `condition` (type: `string`):

Brand-new listings (Nuevo) or used ones (Usado). 'any' returns both.

## `region` (type: `string`):

One of Chile's 16 regions, as the site's region filter. 'any' reads the whole country.

## `sellerType` (type: `string`):

Dealers (automotoras), private sellers, or private sellers whose identity the site has verified. 'any' returns all three.

## `fuel` (type: `string`):

Fuel type, from the site's own fuel filter. 'any' returns all.

## `minPrice` (type: `integer`):

Lowest listed price. The site compares the listed number whatever the currency, so a listing priced in US dollars is compared by its dollar amount. Leave empty for no minimum.

## `maxPrice` (type: `integer`):

Highest listed price, compared the same way as the minimum. Leave empty for no maximum.

## `minYear` (type: `integer`):

Oldest model year to keep. Leave empty for no minimum.

## `maxYear` (type: `integer`):

Newest model year to keep. Leave empty for no maximum.

## `minKm` (type: `integer`):

Lowest odometer reading in kilometres. Leave empty for no minimum.

## `maxKm` (type: `integer`):

Highest odometer reading in kilometres. Leave empty for no maximum.

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Order of the results, from the site's own sort list. 'featured' is the site's default and shows promoted listings first.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Total number of listings to save. The site serves 50 pages of about 18 listings per search (about 900), so a bigger number makes the Actor cut the search into price slices and read each one. About 18 listings are read per request.

## `includeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Keep only listings whose title, trim, make, model, body type or dealer name contains every one of these words, ignoring case and accents. Applied after the site's filters, so rows dropped here still count as pages read.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop listings whose title, trim, make, model, body type or dealer name contains any of these words, ignoring case and accents.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Unblocker is what reached chileautos.cl in testing: with no proxy, a datacenter proxy and a Chilean residential proxy the site answered with a DataDome challenge page.
