## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## El Corte Inglés Scraper: Prices, Discounts and Brands from elcorteingles.es

> **Unofficial.** This Actor is not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by, or in any way
> officially connected to El Corte Inglés. "El Corte Inglés" is a trademark of its respective
> owner and is used here only to describe what this tool reads. It reads the same public category
> pages a browser does.

Read any category of the Spanish department store El Corte Inglés (elcorteingles.es) and get one clean
row per product: current price in euros, the price before the discount, discount percent, brand, barcode
(GTIN), category, seller and product link.

### What does it do?

You give it category pages, for example `https://www.elcorteingles.es/electronica/moviles-y-smartphones/`.
For each one it walks the numbered pages (12 products each), reads the product data the page embeds, and
saves one row per product. It stops at the category's last page, or at the 833-page limit the site itself
applies (9,996 products), whichever comes first.

### Why use it?

- **Prices as the site shows them.** `price` is the current price in euros; `originalPrice`, `discountPercent`
  and `discountAmount` are filled when the site shows a discount and are null otherwise.
- **Barcodes.** `gtin` lets you match products against other retailers.
- **Store stock and marketplace sellers.** `isMarketplace` and `seller` tell the store's own products from
  third-party sellers.
- **Filters that run before you pay.** Price band, discounted only, minimum discount, brands, seller type,
  words the name, brand or category must or must not contain.
- **Public data only.** Rows hold what the category page shows to anyone, including the marketplace seller's
  business name. Nothing comes from behind a login.

### How to use it

1. Open a category on elcorteingles.es and put its address in `categoryUrls`.
2. Set `maxItems` (rows to save) and, if you want, `maxPagesPerCategory` and filters.
3. Run the Actor and download the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel.

#### Why category pages only

The site's `robots.txt` disallows its search pages (`/search-nwx/`, `/*/search`), its filter URLs
(`brand::`, `price::`, `rating::`), sorting and any URL with a query string. This Actor never requests them:
it reads category pages in the site's own order ("Recomendados") and applies every filter itself after the
page is read. A search URL or a filter URL in `categoryUrls` is refused with a message.

#### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `categoryUrls` | array | Category page addresses, one per line. Required. A trailing page number is dropped. |
| `maxItems` | integer | Total products to save across all categories, counted after the filters. Default 100. Categories run in the order given and the run stops at the cap. |
| `maxPagesPerCategory` | integer | Pages to read per category, 1 to 833, 12 products each. Default 50. |
| `minPrice`, `maxPrice` | number | Price band in euros. |
| `onlyDiscounted` | boolean | Keep only products with an original price above the current one. |
| `minDiscountPercent` | integer | Keep only products discounted by at least this percent. |
| `brands` | array | Keep only these brands, matched by exact name, ignoring case and accents. |
| `sellerType` | string | `any` (default), `elcorteingles` (the store's own stock) or `marketplace` (third-party sellers). |
| `includeKeywords`, `excludeKeywords` | array | Words the name, brand or category must / must not contain, ignoring case and accents. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Apify Proxy with the Unblocker group (default). It is the transport that worked on 25 of 25 consecutive pages in testing; plain, datacenter and residential connections received the site's "Access Denied" page. Leave it unchanged. |

#### Sample input

```json
{
    "categoryUrls": ["https://www.elcorteingles.es/electronica/moviles-y-smartphones/"],
    "maxItems": 24,
    "maxPagesPerCategory": 2
}
```

#### Output

One row per product:

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `id` | string | Product code: `A` plus digits for the store's own stock, `MP_<seller>_<sku>` for marketplace sellers. |
| `name` | string | Product title as shown in the grid, colour included. |
| `brand` | string / null | Brand name. |
| `url` | string | Product page address. |
| `image` | string / null | Main image address. |
| `gtin` | string / null | GTIN / EAN barcode. |
| `price` | number | Current price in euros. |
| `currency` | string | Always `EUR`. |
| `originalPrice` | number / null | Price before the discount, null when not discounted. |
| `discountPercent` | integer / null | Discount in percent, null when not discounted. |
| `discountAmount` | number / null | Discount in euros, null when not discounted. |
| `onSale` | boolean | True when `originalPrice` is set. |
| `category` | string / null | Category path, levels joined with `>`. |
| `categories` | array | The same levels as a list. |
| `seller` | string / null | Seller name as the site lists it. |
| `isMarketplace` | boolean | True for a third-party marketplace seller. |
| `colourCount` | integer | Number of colour variants. |
| `status` | string / null | Availability value as the site reports it (seen: `ADD`, `add`, `RESERVE`, `SOLD_OUT`). |
| `isNew` | boolean | True when the site marks the product as new. |
| `categoryPath` | string | The category path the row was read from. |
| `page` | integer | Category page the row was read from. |
| `position` | integer | Position on that page, 1 to 12. |
| `scrapedAt` | string | ISO 8601 timestamp. |

When every colour variant of a product is out of stock, the page carries no price block for it; the row then
takes the lowest variant price and its original price instead.

#### Sample output

}
```
### Pricing
Pay-per-event: **$0.001 per result** saved to the dataset (**$1.00 per 1,000 results**), plus **$0.00005**
charged once when the run starts. No subscription. Rows your filters drop are not saved, so they are not charged.
### Privacy & Compliance
This Actor reads only publicly accessible pages and returns the public data they show. It sends no login.
The site's terms of use ask users not to obtain its content by means other than those it provides; you are
responsible for how you use the data, including its terms and local law.
### FAQ
**Can I search by keyword?** No. The site disallows its search pages for robots, so the Actor reads category
pages. Use `includeKeywords` to narrow a category by words in the name, brand or category.
**Why is a category capped near 10,000 products?** The site itself stops at 833 pages of 12 products for any
category.
**A run returned nothing.** Check that each `categoryUrls` entry is a category page that opens in a browser
and shows products. Landing pages without a product grid and unknown paths give no rows, and the run fails
so you see it.
# Actor input Schema
## `categoryUrls` (type: `array`):
elcorteingles.es category pages to read, one URL per line, for example https://www.elcorteingles.es/electronica/moviles-y-smartphones/. Open a category on the site and copy its address. Search pages, filter URLs and anything with a question mark are refused: the site's robots.txt disallows them, so use the filters below instead.
## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
Total number of products to save across all categories. Each page holds 12 products.
## `maxPagesPerCategory` (type: `integer`):
Pages to read per category, 12 products each. The site shows at most 833 pages (9,996 products) for any category, and the Actor stops earlier at the category's last page.
## `minPrice` (type: `number`):
Keep only products priced at or above this amount in euros. Leave empty for no minimum.
## `maxPrice` (type: `number`):
Keep only products priced at or below this amount in euros. Leave empty for no maximum.
## `onlyDiscounted` (type: `boolean`):
Keep only products that show an original price above the current one.
## `minDiscountPercent` (type: `integer`):
Keep only products discounted by at least this percentage. Leave empty for no minimum.
## `brands` (type: `array`):
Keep only products of these brands, matched by exact name ignoring case and accents, for example Samsung or Bimba y Lola. Leave empty for every brand.
## `sellerType` (type: `string`):
Who sells the product: the store itself or a third-party marketplace seller.
## `includeKeywords` (type: `array`):
Keep only products whose name, brand or category contains every one of these words, ignoring case and accents. Leave empty for no keyword filter.
## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):
Drop products whose name, brand or category contains any of these words, ignoring case and accents.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
The site blocks plain and datacenter connections. The default, Apify Proxy with the Unblocker group, is the one measured to work; leave it unchanged.
