## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Instagram Profile & Followers Scraper

> **Unofficial.** This Actor is not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by, or in any
> way officially connected to Instagram or Meta Platforms. "Instagram" is a trademark of its
> owner and is used here only to describe what this tool reads. It reads the same public
> pages a browser does.

Instagram Profile & Followers Scraper reads public Instagram profiles and saves one row per profile.

### What does it do?

Give it usernames; for each public profile it saves the username, full name, biography, avatar image
link and the follower, following and post counts. It does not read posts, followers lists or private accounts.

### Why use it?

- **What a public profile shows, as rows:** username, full name, biography, avatar, and follower, following and post counts.

### How to use it

1. Put one or more public usernames in `usernames` (with or without `@`).
2. Optionally set `minFollowers` to drop smaller profiles.
3. Run the Actor and download results as JSON, CSV, Excel, or NDJSON from the dataset.

#### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `usernames` | array | Public Instagram usernames to read. |
| `maxItems` | integer | Maximum number of profiles to save in the run. |
| `minFollowers` | integer | Optional minimum follower count. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Apify proxy settings; Unblocker is the default. |

#### Sample Input

```json
{
    "usernames": ["instagram"],
    "maxItems": 5
}
```

#### Output

One row per profile:

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `id` | string | Profile identifier (the username). |
| `username` | string | Instagram username. |
| `fullName` | string | Display name. |
| `biography` | string | Profile bio text. |
| `followersCount` | integer | Followers, as Instagram rounds it (e.g. 687M is `687000000`). |
| `followingCount` | integer | Accounts followed. |
| `postsCount` | integer | Number of posts. |
| `avatarUrl` | string | Profile picture link (Instagram CDN links expire). |
| `url` | string | Profile URL. |
| `scrapedAt` | string | ISO timestamp of when the row was read. |

#### Sample Output

```json
{
    "id": "instagram",
    "username": "instagram",
    "fullName": "Instagram",
    "biography": "Discover what's new on Instagram 🔎✨",
    "followersCount": 687000000,
    "followingCount": 157,
    "postsCount": 8622,
    "avatarUrl": "https://scontent-fra5-1.cdninstagram.com/v/t51.82787-19/550891366_18667771684001321_1383210656577177067_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s100x100_tt6&...",
    "url": "https://www.instagram.com/instagram/",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-10-21T23:45:33.228028+00:00"
}
```

### How much does it cost to scrape Instagram profiles?

Pay-per-event: **$0.0025 per profile** saved to the dataset (**$2.50 per 1,000 profiles**), plus **$0.00005** charged once when the run starts. No subscription. Only rows saved to the dataset are charged.

### Privacy & Compliance

This Actor reads only publicly accessible pages and returns the public data they show. It sends no login.
