## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## AusTender Scraper: Australian Government Contracts & Suppliers

See **who the Australian Government is buying from, what it's buying and for how much**. Each row is a contract notice with agency, supplier, value, UNSPSC code and contract dates, taken from the **official AusTender OCDS API**. There's no login and no scraping.

**Use it to:**

- 🕵️ **Track your competitors.** Get an alert whenever a named supplier wins a federal contract (`keywords: ["Accenture"]`).
- 🎯 **Build a sales pipeline.** Find agencies that buy your category (UNSPSC prefix) and see what they spend.
- 📈 **Size a market.** Total contract value by agency or category over any date range.
- 🔔 **Get daily contract alerts** with a Schedule and `onlyNew`, sent on to Slack, email or Google Sheets with Apify integrations.

**Why this Actor:** it reads the official government data feed, links each notice to its AusTender page, and removes contact-person details.

### How much does it cost?

You pay per event: a small fee per run start plus a fee per result. A daily alert that returns 20 new items costs only cents per day. Use `maxResults` or the run's *Max total charge* to cap spend.

### Example inputs

Department of Defence contracts of at least AUD 100k published in the last 7 days:

```json
{ "lookbackDays": 7, "agencies": ["Defence"], "minValue": 100000 }
```

IT contracts (UNSPSC 43 and 81) modified in the last 2 days:

```json
{ "dateField": "contractLastModified", "unspscPrefixes": ["43", "81"] }
```

Contracts won by a competitor:

```json
{ "keywords": ["Accenture"], "lookbackDays": 30, "stateKey": "competitor" }
```

### Output (one row per contract notice release)

`contractNoticeId, title, description, status, buyerName, buyerId, classificationScheme (UNSPSC), cpvCodes (holds the UNSPSC codes), procurementMethod, valueAmount, valueCurrency, contractStart, contractEnd, contractSigned, awardedSuppliers, awardValue, url, ocid, releaseId, releaseDate, tags`

Contact-person details are removed.

### Notes

- An amended contract notice is a new release and comes back as a new row.
- Pricing: pay per event, a small fee per run start plus a fee per notice.
