## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Workday Jobs Scraper: Extract Jobs from Any myworkdayjobs.com Career Site (Job Postings API)

**Workday Jobs Scraper** pulls every open job from any company's **Workday career site** (`*.myworkdayjobs.com` or `*.myworkdaysite.com`) and returns clean, structured job data: title, full description, all locations, country, remote type, time type, job category, exact posting date, requisition ID, job URL and apply link.

It reads the same public JSON API that the career sites use, so it is **fast, cheap and reliable**: no login, no browser and no proxy. You **only pay for the jobs you get**.

Thousands of large employers hire through Workday, including NVIDIA, Salesforce, Intel, Pfizer, Accenture, Capital One, Mastercard and Boeing. With one Actor you can scrape any of them, or hundreds at once.

### What can this Workday scraper do?

- 🏢 **Scrape any Workday career site.** Paste one or many URLs, from any `wdN` data center (wd1, wd3, wd5, wd12, wd103...). Locale URLs (`/en-US/`), search URLs, single job links and `myworkdaysite.com/recruiting/...` links all work.
- 🔓 **Get more than 2,000 jobs per site.** Workday stops every search at 2,000 results. This scraper detects the cap and **automatically splits the search** using the site's own filters, then merges and de-duplicates the results. In testing it returned 2,711 of 2,711 jobs at NVIDIA and 38,726 at Accenture.
- 📄 **Full job details.** You get the description as both HTML and clean plain text, plus the exact posting date, requisition ID, time type, remote type, country with ISO code, all additional locations and the hiring entity.
- 🎯 **Filter on Workday's side, by name.** Filter by `locations: ["Germany", "Remote"]` or `jobCategories: ["Engineering"]` using the names you see on the site; they are mapped to Workday's internal filter IDs for you. Keyword search, any other site filter (time type, job type, remote type...) and a *posted within N days* filter are also supported.
- 🔁 **Incremental monitoring.** Turn on **Only new jobs** and schedule the Actor. Each run outputs, and charges for, only jobs that were not seen before. Repeat runs are very cheap.
- 🛡️ **Built for reliability.** Each site runs in isolation (one bad URL never kills the run). Retries use exponential backoff on 429/5xx errors, and concurrency adapts per host when a tenant rate-limits. A clear per-site summary is saved after every run.
- 💸 **Pay per job.** There are no subscription and no compute charges to worry about.

### Why this scraper instead of the alternatives?

| | **Workday Jobs Scraper** | Typical Workday scrapers |
|---|---|---|
| Sites with more than 2,000 jobs | ✅ Auto-split by the site's filters (100% at NVIDIA) | ❌ Stops at 2,000 |
| Full description + exact posting date | ✅ HTML **and** plain text, `startDate` | Partial or text only |
| Filter by location/category **names** | ✅ Resolved to Workday facet IDs | Post-filtering of titles/text only |
| Incremental "only new jobs" mode | ✅ Built in, per site, per monitor | ❌ |
| `postedWithinDays` filter | ✅ Including "30+ Days Ago" postings | Rarely |
| Job category, remote type, country code | ✅ | Rarely |
| Proxy required | ❌ Never by default | Often recommended |
| One bad URL fails the whole run | ❌ Isolated per site | Often |

### How to find a company's Workday URL

1. Go to the company's careers page and click **Search jobs** or open any job.
2. If the browser address changes to something like `https://COMPANY.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/SiteName`, that is the Workday URL. Copy it.
3. Or search Google for `site:myworkdayjobs.com "Company name"`.

Examples of valid URLs:

```
https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite
https://salesforce.wd12.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/External_Career_Site
https://intel.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External?q=python
https://wd5.myworkdaysite.com/recruiting/nvidia/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite
https://boeing.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/EXTERNAL_CAREERS/job/USA---Seattle-WA/Some-Job_00012345
```

Tip: you can also paste a company's own careers domain (e.g. `https://www.boeing.com/careers`). If it redirects or links to a Workday site, the scraper finds it on a best-effort basis.

### How to scrape Workday jobs

1. Click **Try for free** or **Start**.
2. Paste one or more Workday career site URLs into **Workday career site URLs**.
3. Optionally add keywords, locations, job categories, a *posted within* filter or a per-site limit.
4. Click **Start**. Then download the jobs as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or get them through the API.

### Input example

```json
{
    "startUrls": [
        { "url": "https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite" },
        { "url": "https://salesforce.wd12.myworkdayjobs.com/External_Career_Site", "userData": { "company": "Salesforce" } }
    ],
    "searchText": "engineer",
    "locations": ["United States", "Remote"],
    "jobCategories": [],
    "facetFilters": { "Time Type": ["Full time"] },
    "postedWithinDays": 7,
    "includeDescription": true,
    "maxJobsPerSite": 0,
    "onlyNewJobs": false
}
```

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `startUrls` | Workday career-site URLs (required). Add `userData.company` to set a display name. |
| `searchText` | Keywords, like the site's search box. |
| `maxJobsPerSite` | Limit per site (newest first). `0` = all jobs. |
| `includeDescription` | Fetch full job details (default `true`). Turn off for a fast listing-only scrape. |
| `postedWithinDays` | Only jobs posted in the last N days. |
| `locations` | Location names as shown on the site (`"Germany"`, `"Santa Clara"`, `"Remote"`) or Workday facet IDs. |
| `jobCategories` | Category / job family names (`"Engineering"`) or IDs. |
| `facetFilters` | Any other site filter: `{ "filter label or parameter": ["value names or IDs"] }`. |
| `onlyNewJobs` | Incremental mode: only output jobs not seen in previous runs. If you also set `maxJobsPerSite`, each run delivers up to that many unseen jobs and the rest arrive in later runs. To start with only genuinely new postings, do the first run without `maxJobsPerSite`. |
| `stateKey` | Name of the monitor (separate monitors keep separate memories). |
| `splitLargeSearches` | Auto-split searches above 2,000 results (default `true`). |

Filter names are matched against **each site's own filter values**. If a name doesn't exist on a site, the log lists valid examples and that site is skipped instead of scraping (and charging for) unfiltered jobs.

### Output example

Every job is one dataset item:

```json
{
    "id": "nvidia:NVIDIAExternalCareerSite:Senior-ASIC-Floorplan-Design-Engineer_JR2019990",
    "jobReqId": "JR2019990",
    "title": "Senior ASIC Floorplan Design Engineer",
    "company": "nvidia",
    "hiringOrganization": "2100 NVIDIA USA",
    "tenant": "nvidia",
    "site": "NVIDIAExternalCareerSite",
    "locations": ["US, CA, Santa Clara", "US, TX, Austin"],
    "locationsText": "2 Locations",
    "country": "United States of America",
    "countryCode": "US",
    "remoteType": null,
    "timeType": "Full time",
    "jobCategory": "Engineering",
    "postedOnText": "Posted Yesterday",
    "postedAt": "2026-10-14",
    "postedAtSource": "startDate",
    "validThrough": null,
    "jobUrl": "https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite/job/US-CA-Santa-Clara/Senior-ASIC-Floorplan-Design-Engineer_JR2019990",
    "applyUrl": "https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite/job/US-CA-Santa-Clara/Senior-ASIC-Floorplan-Design-Engineer_JR2019990/apply",
    "canApply": true,
    "descriptionHtml": "<p>NVIDIA is seeking an experienced ASIC Floorplan Engineer ...</p>",
    "descriptionText": "NVIDIA is seeking an experienced ASIC Floorplan Engineer ...",
    "jobPostingId": "Senior-ASIC-Floorplan-Design-Engineer_JR2019990",
    "workdayId": "1559947f960d1013e6c1d61d1df00000",
    "sourceUrl": "https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-10-15T08:04:56.946Z"
}
```

Notes on the fields:

- `id` is stable across runs. Use it to de-duplicate.
- `postedAt` is the exact posting date from Workday when job details are fetched. Otherwise it is derived from "Posted N Days Ago", and is `null` for "30+ Days Ago".
- `jobCategory` is filled when you scrape a whole site (no `maxJobsPerSite`), when the site was split by category, or when you filter by category.
- With `includeDescription: false`, the detail-only fields (description, `timeType`, `country`, full `locations`) are omitted or `null`, in exchange for faster runs.

A `RUN_SUMMARY` record in the run's key-value store lists, for every site: jobs output, jobs listed, jobs skipped (already seen or too old), split sub-searches, retries, errors and duration.

### How much does it cost to scrape Workday jobs?

This Actor uses **pay-per-event** pricing. You pay **$1.50 per 1,000 jobs** ($0.0015 per job) for jobs that appear in your dataset. Jobs removed by your filters, already-seen jobs in incremental mode, and failed sites cost nothing.

| Jobs | Price |
|---|---|
| 100 | $0.15 |
| 1,000 | $1.50 |
| 10,000 | $15.00 |

Your Apify plan's free monthly credit applies, and higher Apify plans get store discounts. To cap spending, set **Maximum cost per run** in the run options. The scraper stops cleanly when the budget is reached and tells you so in the status message.

### Scheduling and incremental monitoring of new jobs

Use this to get **alerts for new jobs** at specific companies, or to keep a job board in sync:

1. Turn on **Only new jobs** and give the monitor a name in **Monitor name** (e.g. `eng-us`).
2. Save the configuration as a **Task** and add a **Schedule** (e.g. every morning).
3. The first run outputs all current matching jobs and saves them as the baseline.
4. Every later run outputs **only jobs that appeared since**. Already-seen jobs are skipped *before* their details are fetched, so monitoring runs are fast and cost only the new jobs.

The memory is kept per site in a named key-value store (`workday-jobs-scraper-state` by default), under the key you choose. Different monitor names are fully independent. Don't run two runs with the same monitor name at the same time.

### Getting more than 2,000 jobs from one Workday site

Workday's API never returns more than **2,000 results for a single search**. It reports `total: 2000` and silently wraps around to page one. Most scrapers stop there.

When this scraper sees the cap, it does the following:

1. It reads the site's filter counts, which are not capped, to estimate the real number of jobs.
2. It picks a filter that provably partitions the jobs, preferring **job category**, then country, and so on. Smaller values are grouped so that each sub-search stays under 2,000.
3. It scrapes every sub-search and **de-duplicates** the results. If a sub-search is still above 2,000, it is split again (up to 4 levels).
4. When the only remaining filters are "multi-valued" (e.g. Skills or City), it adds a catch-all pass over the capped search, plus extra passes on other filters, so jobs missing one attribute are still found.

Test results (October 2026):

| Site | Real jobs | Returned | How |
|---|---|---|---|
| NVIDIA | 2,711 | **2,711 (100%)** | 15 job categories, 24 s |
| Accenture, "AI & Data" only | 3,826 | **3,822 (99.9%)** | Country, then City + catch-all |
| Accenture, whole site | ~42,000 | **38,726 (92%)** | 92 sub-searches, 13 min, listing only |

The rest of Accenture sits in one 17,800-job bucket (Software Engineering × India) that Workday's filters can't fully partition. When this happens, the log and `RUN_SUMMARY` say how many jobs are unreachable. You can reach them with narrower searches (keywords, locations).

### Integrations and API

- **API.** Start runs and fetch results with the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2), or the JavaScript and Python clients:

  ```bash
  curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/rjmacarthy~workday-jobs-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
    -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
    -d '{"startUrls":[{"url":"https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite"}],"maxJobsPerSite":50}'
  ```

- **Webhooks.** Get notified (or trigger your pipeline) when a run finishes.

- **Zapier, Make, n8n.** Send new jobs to Google Sheets, Airtable, Slack, email or your CRM with no code.

- **Google Sheets, Slack, Airbyte, Keboola and more** through Apify integrations.

- **AI agents.** Use the Actor as a tool through the Apify MCP server.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Workday account, login, cookies or a proxy?**
No. The scraper uses the public endpoints that every Workday career site uses to show jobs. A proxy option exists only for rare regional blocks.

**Are there any limits on the free plan?**
No. Free-plan users get the same features, with no caps on sites, jobs or filters. You pay only per job, and your Apify free monthly credit covers it.

**How fast is it?**
Listing-only runs (`includeDescription: false`) take about 1 second per 100 jobs: all 2,711 NVIDIA jobs took 24 seconds. With full details, expect about 6–15 jobs per second, depending on the company's Workday tenant. 100 jobs from each of NVIDIA and Salesforce took 12 seconds; Salesforce's full 1,550 jobs took about 4 minutes. Some tenants rate-limit to about 6 requests per second. The scraper then slows down automatically (it backs off on HTTP 429) instead of failing.

**Can I scrape many companies at once?**
Yes. Add as many URLs as you like. Sites run in parallel and are isolated from each other.

**What happens with an invalid URL?**
That site is reported as failed with a clear reason, for example "tenant not found", "career site not found" or "not a Workday URL", and the other sites continue. You're not charged for it.

**Why does "postedAt" say null?**
Without job details, Workday only says "Posted 30+ Days Ago" for older postings. Turn on **Include full job details** to get the exact date.

**Does it return salaries?**
Workday has no salary field. When a company publishes pay ranges, they are inside the description text.

**Is scraping Workday legal?**
The scraper only collects publicly available job postings that companies publish to attract applicants. It doesn't collect personal data. Always check that your use complies with the applicable terms and laws.

### Limits

- Workday caps each search at 2,000 results. Auto-split works around this using the site's filters. In rare cases a combination of filters still can't reach a small remainder, and the log reports it.
- Filter names differ per company. Check the run log for valid values.
- `company` is the Workday tenant name (e.g. `nvidia`) unless you set `userData.company`.
- Custom career domains are resolved on a best-effort basis. If one fails, paste the `myworkdayjobs.com` URL instead.
- Incremental state lives in a named key-value store in your account, created by the Actor itself. Deleting that store resets the monitor. If you already have an unrelated store with the same name, set a different **State key-value store name**.

### Support

Found a site that doesn't work, or need an extra field? Open an issue on the **Issues** tab with the URL. Fixes are usually quick.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Career-site URLs such as https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite. Locale prefixes (/en-US/), search URLs (with ?q= or filter parameters), single job URLs and myworkdaysite.com/recruiting/... links all work. Custom career domains that redirect to Workday are resolved on a best-effort basis. Optional: add userData {"company": "NVIDIA"} to set the company name in the output.

## `searchText` (type: `string`):

Keywords, exactly like the search box on the career site (e.g. "data engineer"). Overrides any ?q= in the URL. Leave empty for all jobs.

## `maxJobsPerSite` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs from each site (newest first). 0 = no limit (all jobs, including sites with more than 2,000 openings).

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Fetch each job's detail page for the full description (HTML and plain text), exact posting date, time type, requisition ID, country and all locations. Turn off for a faster listing-only scrape (title, URL, location text, relative posting date).

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only jobs posted in the last N days (e.g. 1 = today and yesterday, 7 = last week). Uses Workday's "Posted N Days Ago" text and, for older "30+ Days Ago" postings, the exact start date from the job detail. Leave empty for no date filter.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Location filter using the site's own location filters. Use plain names as shown on the career site (e.g. "United States", "Germany", "Santa Clara", "Remote") or Workday facet IDs. Exact names are preferred; partial names match all locations containing the text. Multiple values are OR-ed.

## `jobCategories` (type: `array`):

Job category / job family filter (e.g. "Engineering", "Sales", "Finance"), as shown on the career site, or Workday facet IDs. Multiple values are OR-ed.

## `facetFilters` (type: `object`):

Any other filter the site offers, as { "filter name or parameter": \["value names or IDs"] }. Keys can be the label shown on the site (e.g. "Time Type", "Remote Type", "Job Type") or the Workday parameter (e.g. "timeType", "workerSubType"). Example: {"Time Type": \["Full time"], "Remote Type": \["Remote", "Hybrid"]}.

## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):

Remember which jobs were already output and only output (and charge for) jobs that are new since the previous run. The first run outputs all matching jobs and saves them as the baseline. Ideal for scheduled monitoring.

## `stateKey` (type: `string`):

Name of this monitor's memory. Runs with the same name share the list of already-seen jobs (per site). Use different names for independent monitors (e.g. "eng-roles" vs "sales-roles").

## `stateStoreName` (type: `string`):

Named key-value store in your account where incremental state is kept (letters, digits and dashes).

## `splitLargeSearches` (type: `boolean`):

Workday caps every search at 2,000 results. When a site has more, the scraper automatically splits the search by the site's own filters (job category, country, city...) and merges the results, so you get every job.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Maximum parallel HTTP requests. The default is fast and polite; lower it if a site starts rate-limiting.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not needed for Workday's public API. Enable only if a specific site blocks requests from your region.
