## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

### What does Airbnb Reviews Scraper do?

**Airbnb Reviews Scraper** pulls every review for one Airbnb listing — including the reply text when a host has replied, who replied, and when — filterable by topic (cleanliness, location, ...) and sortable by recency or rating, paginating automatically until it runs out of reviews or hits your `maxItems` limit.

It talks directly to the same internal API the official [Airbnb](https://www.airbnb.com/) Android app uses (`api.airbnb.com`), reverse-engineered by live MITM capture against a real device — a real Apollo-style GraphQL persisted query the app itself sends (exact query hash captured live, never guessed). No Airbnb account, no API key, no scraping setup. This is the reviews slice of [Airbnb All-in-One API](https://apify.com/romy/airbnb-all-in-one-api), split out as its own focused Actor.

### Why use Airbnb Reviews Scraper?

- **Real host replies** — the reply text, who replied, and when, not just the guest's review
- **Topic filtering** — pass `tag: "CLEANLINESS"` (or any real topic value from that listing's own filter chips) to get only reviews mentioning it, with the matching snippet highlighted server-side
- **Sort by recency or rating** — `BEST_QUALITY` (default, "most relevant"), `MOST_RECENT`, `RATING_DESC`, `RATING_ASC`
- **No account needed** — every read request works fully anonymously
- **Use cases:** review sentiment pipelines, host reputation research, guest-experience analysis

### Input

| Field       | Type    | Description                                                                                                                                  |
| ----------- | ------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `listingId` | string | **Required.** Plain numeric Airbnb listing id (from [airbnb-search-scraper](https://apify.com/romy/airbnb-search-scraper) or an Airbnb URL). |
| `sort`      | string  | `BEST_QUALITY` (default) | `MOST_RECENT` | `RATING_DESC` | `RATING_ASC`                                                                   |
| `tag`       | string  | Filter to reviews mentioning a topic (e.g. `CLEANLINESS`) — a listing may expose other real values too                                       |
| `currency`  | string  | ISO code, default `USD`                                                                                                                      |
| `pageSize`  | integer | Reviews per request. Default `20`.                                                                                                           |
| `maxItems` | integer | Stop once this many reviews have been pushed. Default: unbounded (fetch all reviews). |

Example:

```json
{
    "listingId": "1633199196629299212",
    "sort": "MOST_RECENT",
    "maxItems": 100
}
```

### Output

One dataset row per review, Airbnb's own review item shape (fields vary; a `response` field is present with reply text/date/reviewee when the host has replied, `null` otherwise).

### Known limitations

- One reply per review is the most Airbnb's data model supports — there's nothing to paginate within a single review's replies.
- Listing detail, availability, and search are separate spin-off Actors — this one is reviews-only.

### Pricing

Pay-per-event: $0.0015 per `review` pushed to the dataset (FREE plan price — BRONZE/SILVER/GOLD/PLATINUM/DIAMOND get automatic discounts based on your Apify plan). See the Actor's Pricing tab for current rates.
