## Pricing

from $1.20 / 1,000 search result chargeds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Bloomberg Search Scraper do?

**Bloomberg Search Scraper** runs one or more queries through Bloomberg's unified search bar — the same lookup the app itself uses when you type into its search box — and returns matching securities (tickers, company names) and news stories in one call per query, pushed to the dataset as one row per query.

It talks directly to the same internal API the official [Bloomberg](https://www.bloomberg.com/) Android app uses (`cdn-mobapi.bloomberg.com`), reverse-engineered via live device capture (Frida, bypassing dual TLS pinning and root detection) and independently re-confirmed by calling the API directly with no device involved. No Bloomberg account, no API key, no scraping setup. This is the search slice of [Bloomberg All-in-One API](https://apify.com/romy/bloomberg-all-in-one-api), split out as its own focused Actor.

### Why use Bloomberg Search Scraper?

- **One call, two result types** — matches both securities (ticker + company name substring match) and news headlines for the same query
- **Batch queries** — pass an array of search strings, get one dataset row per query
- **No account needed** — every read request works fully anonymously, confirmed with no auth, no session cookies at all
- **Use cases:** ticker lookup, company-to-symbol resolution, financial news monitoring, market research

### Input

| Field           | Type     | Description                                                                                                 |
| --------------- | -------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `queries`       | string\[] | Required. One or more search strings, e.g. `["microsoft", "apple"]`. Each becomes one dataset row.          |
| `filter`        | string   | `ALL` | `EQUITY` | `INDEX` | `COMMODITY` | `CURRENCY` | `FUND`. Default `ALL`.                         |
| `securityLimit` | integer | Max security matches per query. Real confirmed server-side cap is **25** — higher is ignored. Default `25`. |
| `storyLimit` | integer | Max news matches per query. Real confirmed server-side cap is **25** — higher is ignored. Default `25`. |
| `country`       | string   | ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code. Default `US`.                                                              |

Example:

```json
{
    "queries": ["microsoft", "apple"],
    "filter": "ALL",
    "securityLimit": 25,
    "storyLimit": 25,
    "country": "US"
}
```

### Output

One dataset row per query: the query string spread together with Bloomberg's own raw `search` response shape (`success`, `quote`, `news`).

```json
{
    "query": "microsoft",
    "success": true,
    "quote": [
        {
            "symbol": "MSFT",
            "ticker": "msft:us",
            "tickerName": "MSFT:US",
            "name": "Microsoft Corp",
            "resourceId": "MSFT:US"
        }
    ],
    "news": [{ "title": "...", "published": 1787680000 }]
}
```

### Known limitations

- `securityLimit` and `storyLimit` are real, confirmed server-side caps at **25** each — no offset/page param exists beyond that, so a query can't be paginated further through this endpoint.
- Full security detail, financials, key stats, charts, per-security news, article bodies, home feed, and media are separate spin-off Actors — this one is search-only.

### Pricing

Pay-per-event: $0.0020 per `search-result` result (FREE plan; BRONZE/SILVER/GOLD/PLATINUM/DIAMOND get automatic discounts based on your Apify plan). Billed per query processed (one dataset row = one query).

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

One or more search strings, e.g. \["microsoft", "apple"]. Each query becomes one dataset row.

## `filter` (type: `string`):

Restrict security matches to one asset type. ALL matches every type.

## `securityLimit` (type: `integer`):

Max number of security matches per query. Real confirmed server-side cap is 25 — higher values are silently ignored.

## `storyLimit` (type: `integer`):

Max number of news matches per query. Real confirmed server-side cap is 25 — higher values are silently ignored.

## `country` (type: `string`):

ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "queries": [
    "microsoft"
  ],
  "filter": "ALL",
  "securityLimit": 25,
  "storyLimit": 25,
  "country": "US"
}
```
