## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

**CNBC Fundamentals Scraper** returns 52-week, 5-year, and 10-year highs and lows plus period returns (5-day, 1-month, and similar) for one or more [CNBC](https://www.cnbc.com/) securities. Give it one or more internal security ids and it pushes one dataset row per id — no CNBC account, no API key, no scraping setup.

It talks directly to the same internal REST endpoint the official CNBC Android app uses (`marketdata.cnbc.com`), reverse-engineered by live MITM capture against a real device. No auth needed — confirmed by inspecting real captured request headers (no Authorization header, no cookie, no session token).

### Why use CNBC Fundamentals Scraper?

- **Real fundamentals data, no account needed** — 52-week/5-year/10-year highs and lows and period returns straight from CNBC's own backend
- **Batch-friendly** — pass an array of ids, get one dataset row per id
- **No auth, no setup** — call it with an id and go
- **Use cases:** financial dashboards, market monitoring bots, portfolio screening tools, research pipelines

### How it connects to the parent Actor

This is a narrow, single-purpose split-off of [CNBC All-in-One API](https://apify.com/romy/cnbc-all-in-one-api), which exposes CNBC's full reverse-engineered API surface (news, quotes, video, TV schedule, and more) as an always-on Standby endpoint. This Actor wraps only the parent's `/fundamentals` endpoint as a plain batch Actor: give it a list of ids, get a dataset back.

`wsodIssue` is CNBC's own internal security id — it is **not** the ticker symbol. You need a real id before you can call this Actor. Get one from the `issueId` field returned by a quote search or quote lookup — the sibling [cnbc-quotes-scraper](https://apify.com/romy/cnbc-quotes-scraper) Actor's `/quote-search` or `/quote` endpoint is the easiest way to look one up from a company name or ticker.

### Input

| Field        | Type            | Required | Default     | Description                                                                                                                                                                   |
| ------------ | --------------- | -------- | ----------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `wsodIssues` | array of string | yes      | —           | CNBC internal security ids — **not** ticker symbols. Get these from a quote lookup's `issueId` field (see [cnbc-quotes-scraper](https://apify.com/romy/cnbc-quotes-scraper)). |
| `section` | string | no | `"returns"` | Shared across all lookups. Only `"returns"` (52wk/5yr/10yr hi-lo, period returns) is confirmed live; other values may be real but weren't confirmed during development. |

Example input:

```json
{
    "wsodIssues": ["599362"],
    "section": "returns"
}
```

### Output

One dataset item per `wsodIssue`, wrapping CNBC's own real response:

```json
{
    "wsodIssue": "599362",
    "section": "returns",
    "fundamentals": {
        "success": true,
        "fundamentals": {
            "599362": {
                "Ranges": [{ "Name": "52-Wk Hi/Lo", "HighValue": "53289.30", "LowValue": "43340.68" }],
                "Values": [{ "Name": "FiveDayReturn", "Value": "0.23%" }]
            }
        }
    }
}
```

You can download the dataset in various formats such as JSON, CSV, or Excel from the Actor run's Storage tab.

### Pricing

Pay per event. Charged `fundamentals` ($0.002 on the FREE plan) once per `wsodIssue` successfully fetched. Cost scales with how many `wsodIssues` you pass in. See the Actor's Pricing tab for current rates.

### Known limitations

- **`wsodIssue` is not the ticker symbol.** It's CNBC's own internal security id — you must look it up first via a quote search/lookup (e.g. the sibling [cnbc-quotes-scraper](https://apify.com/romy/cnbc-quotes-scraper) Actor's `/quote-search` or `/quote` endpoint, reading the `issueId` field of the result). There is no way to pass a plain ticker directly to this Actor.
- **CNBC's `marketdata.cnbc.com` upstream showed intermittent `503`s during development**, unrelated to request format — a failure from this Actor may just reflect a transient issue on CNBC's side, worth retrying.
- **The `section` parameter is only confirmed with the value `"returns"`.** Other section values common on similar financial APIs (e.g. profile, estimates, financials) may be real but weren't captured live, so aren't documented as guaranteed to work.
- This is an unofficial, reverse-engineered integration, not affiliated with or endorsed by CNBC or NBCUniversal. Behavior may change if CNBC changes its API.
