## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Career Site Jobs API — Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Recruitee

Get job listings **straight from the source**: the company's own careers page. No job-board middlemen, no stale or duplicated ads, no logins, no proxies.

Paste a careers URL, a website domain or just a company name. The Actor works out which applicant tracking system (ATS) the company uses and returns every open job in **one clean, consistent format**, whichever system it came from.

### What you can do with it

- **Job alerts and monitoring.** Turn on *Only jobs I have not received before*, schedule a daily run, and get only new postings. You pay only for new jobs.
- **Job boards and aggregators.** Fill a niche job board with fresh, first-party listings that link directly to the employer's apply page.
- **Sales and recruiting signals.** Track which companies are hiring for which roles. A company posting five "Salesforce Admin" jobs is telling you something.
- **Market and salary research.** Compare titles, locations, remote policy and published salary ranges across thousands of companies.
- **AI agents and RAG.** Plain-text descriptions and stable IDs, ready for LLMs.

### Supported job board systems

| System | Example input |
| --- | --- |
| Greenhouse | `https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/stripe` |
| Lever | `https://jobs.lever.co/palantir` |
| Ashby | `https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp` |
| SmartRecruiters | `https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup` |
| Workable (named companies only) | `https://apply.workable.com/huggingface` |
| Recruitee | `https://acme.recruitee.com` |

More systems are added regularly. Need one? Open an issue on the Issues tab.

### Input

**Companies** accepts any mix of:

- a job board URL: `https://jobs.lever.co/palantir`
- the company's own careers page: `https://www.notion.com/careers` (the embedded job board is detected automatically)
- a domain or a name: `cloudflare.com`, `Ramp`
- an explicit board: `greenhouse:airbnb`

Leave **Companies** empty, or turn on **Also search the built-in company list**, to search more than 6,000 verified company job boards at once (a full search takes about four minutes). Combine with filters to answer questions like *"every remote data engineer job posted this week"*.

Filters: job title keywords, excluded title keywords, description keywords, location, department, remote only, posted within N days.

#### Example: daily alert for new remote data jobs

```json
{
    "searchBuiltInCompanies": true,
    "titleKeywords": ["data engineer", "analytics engineer"],
    "remoteOnly": true,
    "onlyNewJobs": true,
    "monitorName": "remote-data-jobs"
}
```

#### Example: everything from a list of companies

```json
{
    "companies": ["stripe.com", "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp", "Cloudflare"],
    "includeDescription": false
}
```

### Output

One item per job:

```json
{
    "id": "ashby:ramp:34413f8d-26bf-4bbc-8ade-eb309a0e2245",
    "ats": "ashby",
    "companySlug": "ramp",
    "company": "Ramp",
    "title": "Security Engineer, Cloud",
    "location": "New York, NY (HQ)",
    "locations": ["New York, NY (HQ)", "Remote (US)", "Miami, FL"],
    "remote": true,
    "workplaceType": "hybrid",
    "department": "Engineering",
    "team": "Backend",
    "employmentType": "FullTime",
    "postedAt": "2026-04-07T17:12:35.753Z",
    "updatedAt": null,
    "url": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp/34413f8d-26bf-4bbc-8ade-eb309a0e2245",
    "applyUrl": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp/34413f8d-26bf-4bbc-8ade-eb309a0e2245/application",
    "salary": "$211.4K - $290.6K",
    "salaryMin": 211400,
    "salaryMax": 290600,
    "salaryCurrency": "USD",
    "descriptionHtml": "<h1>About Ramp</h1>…",
    "descriptionText": "ABOUT RAMP\n\nRamp is building…",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-10-03T12:53:15.643Z"
}
```

Fields an employer does not publish (for example salary) are `null`. `id` is stable between runs, so it is safe to use as a database key.

### Pricing

Pay per job returned. No monthly fee, no charge for companies that return nothing, and filters are applied **before** you are charged, so you never pay for jobs you filtered out. Searching the whole built-in company list adds one small flat fee per run, because it reads thousands of job boards.

### Where the data comes from

Only the official, public job-posting feeds that these systems provide so that jobs can be shown on career pages and syndicated. The Actor reads no personal data, needs no login and bypasses nothing.

### FAQ

**A company I entered returned nothing.** It probably uses a system that is not supported yet (for example Workday). The run log lists every company that could not be matched.

**How fresh is the data?** Live. Every run reads the employer's job board at that moment.

**Can I run it on a schedule or call it from my code?** Yes. Use Apify schedules, the API, or integrations such as Make, Zapier and n8n. It also works as a tool for AI agents through the Apify MCP server.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Careers page URLs, job board URLs, website domains or company names. Examples: https://jobs.lever.co/palantir, stripe.com, Ramp, greenhouse:airbnb. Leave empty to search the built-in company list.

## `searchBuiltInCompanies` (type: `boolean`):

Search every company in the built-in list (more than 6,000 verified job boards) in addition to the companies above. Combine with filters below to find, for example, every remote data engineer job.

## `titleKeywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title contains at least one of these. Not case sensitive.

## `excludeTitleKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these, for example: intern, senior.

## `descriptionKeywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose description mentions at least one of these, for example: Kubernetes, visa sponsorship.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

City, region or country as written by the employer, for example: London, Germany, New York.

## `departments` (type: `array`):

For example: Engineering, Sales.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs the employer marks as remote.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

0 or empty means any date.

## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):

Remembers which jobs earlier runs returned and skips them, so you pay only for new postings. Ideal with a daily schedule for job alerts.

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Runs that share a name share one memory of already-delivered jobs. Use different names for separate alerts.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Turn off for faster, smaller results.

## `descriptionFormat` (type: `string`):

Plain text is best for AI and spreadsheets.

## `atsPlatforms` (type: `array`):

Leave empty for all.

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

0 or empty means no limit.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs. 0 or empty means no limit.
