## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## DA PA Checker – Bulk Domain Authority & Spam Score Checker

Check domain authority (DA), page authority (PA) and spam score for up to 10,000 domains or URLs in one run, plus how many websites link to each domain. Paste domains for DA and spam score; paste page URLs to also get PA.
Built for link builders vetting guest-post and backlink sites, SEO agencies, domain investors and anyone cleaning a list of websites. A bulk DA checker and website authority checker on licensed backlink data, no logins or browser extensions.

### What you get

- **`domain_authority`** 0-100: how strong the domain's backlink profile is (higher = stronger).
- **`page_authority`** 0-100 for every page URL you give.
- **`spam_score`** 0-100: how spammy the domain's backlink profile looks (higher = more risky). Leave link sites with a high spam score out of your outreach.
- **`referring_domains`**, `referring_main_domains`, `referring_domains_nofollow`: how many websites link to the domain.
- `domain_rank` and `page_rank`: the raw 0-1000 scores behind DA and PA.

### Example output

```json
{
  "domain": "apify.com",
  "page": "https://apify.com/store",
  "domain_authority": 56,
  "page_authority": 40,
  "spam_score": 17,
  "domain_rank": 557,
  "page_rank": 399,
  "referring_domains": 12858,
  "referring_main_domains": 10279,
  "referring_domains_nofollow": 5656,
  "checked_at": "2026-10-30T12:58:15+00:00"
}
```

For comparison in the same run: bbc.co.uk has domain authority 69 and spam score 23; an unknown domain gets 0 and the note `no data for this domain`.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `targets` | Domains (`example.com`) or URLs (`https://example.com/blog/post`). A domain or home page gives DA, spam score and referring domains; any other page also gets PA. Up to 10,000. |

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

- **$2 per 1,000 domains or URLs** ($0.002 each).
- $0.10 per batch of up to 500 (the data provider bills each batch a fixed fee).
- $0.001 per run start.

Examples: 10 domains cost $0.121. 500 domains cost $1.101. 10,000 domains cost $22.00.
Lines that are not a domain or URL are listed and never charged. Cap the cost of a run with the maximum charge setting; the Actor only starts batches the budget can pay for.
**Try it for $0.001:** the pre-filled example is answered from a saved snapshot of a real lookup (rows carry `from_snapshot: true`). Change anything and the lookup runs live.
Live lookups need a paid Apify plan (any plan); the pre-filled example works on the free plan.

### Good to know

- Scores come from DataForSEO's backlink index, not from Moz or Ahrefs, so they are on the same 0-100 idea but will not match Moz DA or Ahrefs DR exactly. They are comparable with each other, which is what you need to sort a list.
- Spam score and referring domains are always for the whole domain, also when you give a page URL.
- A batch of 500 usually takes a few seconds.
