## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## RedNote (Xiaohongshu) Search Scraper

Search RedNote (Xiaohongshu, 小红书) by keyword: title, caption, likes, saves, comments, shares, hashtags, images, video links and author of every note.

**$3 per 1,000 notes.**

### What it's for

- **Market and trend research in China**: what people say about a product, brand or topic, by relevance, likes, comments or date.
- **Brand monitoring**: new notes about your brand or a competitor's, on a schedule with `sortType: time_descending` and `timeFilter: 1d`.
- **Creator discovery**: the accounts behind the most liked notes for a keyword.
- **Data for AI agents and dashboards**: clean JSON, CSV or Excel, or straight from the API.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `keywords` | Keywords in Chinese or any language, one per line |
| `maxResults` | Notes per keyword (default 100; 0 returns all RedNote has, up to 2,000) |
| `sortType` | `general` (relevance), `popularity_descending` (most liked), `comment_descending` (most commented) or `time_descending` (newest) |
| `noteType` | `all`, `video` or `image` |
| `timeFilter` | `all`, `1d`, `1w` or `6mo` |

Coming from another RedNote scraper? These are the input fields of the most used RedNote search scraper on Apify, and the output keeps its field names (`engagement.liked_count`, `author.red_id`…). Saved inputs and API calls keep working.

### Output

One row per note:

### Price

- **$3 per 1,000 notes**
- A note found by two keywords is charged once

| Run | Cost |
|---|---|
| 1 keyword, 100 notes | $0.30 |
| 10 keywords, 500 notes each | $15 |

A run stops at the maximum cost you set for it. On Apify's free plan, a run returns up to 100 notes.

### FAQ

**Do I need a RedNote account, cookies or a Chinese proxy?**
No.

**Can it download the images and videos?**
Each row links to its images and to the video file.

**Can I get a creator's own notes, or a note's comments?**
Use the RedNote Scraper with their profile links, and the RedNote Comments Scraper with note links.

**Is it legal?**
It reads only public notes. Captions and usernames can be personal data under China's PIPL, the GDPR and similar laws: use them for a legitimate purpose and honor deletion requests.
