## Pricing

from $0.70 / 1,000 articles

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google News Scraper — real article URLs, deep search, $1 per 1,000

Scrape **Google News** by **keyword** or **topic**, in **any country and language**, and get clean article data: title, source, publication date, the **publisher's real URL** and related coverage.

Made for **media monitoring, brand & competitor tracking, PR teams, researchers, traders and AI agents / RAG pipelines**.

### Why this scraper

| | This scraper | Typical Google News scrapers |
|---|---|---|
| Price | **$1 / 1,000 articles** | up to $4 / 1,000 |
| Real publisher URL (not the news.google.com redirect) | ✅ | often ❌ |
| More than 100 results per query | ✅ **Deep search** splits the period by day | ❌ capped at ~100 |
| Topics (Top stories, Business, Technology…) | ✅ | partial |
| 55+ country/language editions (+ any custom code) | ✅ | partial |
| Google News operators (site:, intitle:, quotes) | ✅ | ✅ |

### Output example

```json
{
  "title": "Electric vehicles offer fuel savings, but affordability and charging access remain barriers in SA",
  "source": "IOL",
  "url": "https://iol.co.za/the-star/2026-10-18-electric-vehicles-offer-fuel-savings-but-affordability-and-charging-access-remain-barriers-in-sa/",
  "publishedAt": "2026-10-18T07:00:00.000Z",
  "sourceUrl": "https://iol.co.za",
  "googleNewsUrl": "https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi0AFBVV95cUxP…",
  "relatedArticles": [],
  "query": "electric vehicles",
  "language": "en-US",
  "position": 1
}
```

### How to use

1. Add **search queries** (operators work: `"generative AI"`, `site:reuters.com`, `intitle:bitcoin`) and/or pick **topics**.
2. Choose the **language & country** edition (55+ in the list, or type any code like `fr-MA`, `ar-EG`) and the **time range**.
3. Need more than ~100 results? Turn on **Deep search** (up to 90 days, day by day).
4. Keep **Get real article URLs** on to receive the publisher link.
5. Click **Start**, export to JSON/CSV/Excel, or schedule it (hourly/daily) for monitoring.

### Pricing

**$1.00 per 1,000 articles** ($0.001 per article). No platform usage fees on top.
Example: monitor 10 keywords daily × 50 articles = 15,000 articles/month = **$15**.

### FAQ

**Why only ~100 articles per query?** That's Google News' limit per feed. Deep search splits your time range into single days and merges the results without duplicates.

**Does it scrape full article text?** No — titles, sources, dates and links only (no publisher content is copied).

**How fresh is the data?** Live: each run reads Google News at that moment. Schedule runs for continuous monitoring.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

## `topics` (type: `array`):

Optional Google News sections.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Edition of Google News (country + language).

## `customEdition` (type: `string`):

Any other edition as language-country code, e.g. fr-SN, ar-JO, sw-KE. Overrides the list above.

## `timeRange` (type: `string`):

How far back to search (applies to search queries, not topics).

## `deepSearch` (type: `boolean`):

## `maxArticlesPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

## `decodeUrls` (type: `boolean`):

Google News only gives redirect links. Turn on to get the publisher's real URL (slightly slower).
