## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby & Workable Jobs Scraper

**Get every open job from any company that hires through Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable or SmartRecruiters, in one clean table.** Paste career page URLs (or just company slugs) and get title, department, location, remote flag, employment type, salary (where the board publishes it), posting date, job URL and the full description. It reads each board's official public job-board API, so there is no login, no browser and no proxy, and runs are fast and reliable. Export to JSON, CSV, Excel or Google Sheets, or schedule it daily to track new openings.

### Use with AI agents (MCP, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor)

**Purpose:** Get every open job from companies' career pages on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and SmartRecruiters, with salary, location, remote flag and full description. Uses public job-board APIs, no login.

**When to use it**

- "What is company X hiring for?", "list open engineering roles at these companies", "which of these companies hire remotely in London".
- Tracking hiring at a list of target companies on a schedule (sales signals, recruiting, market research).

**When not to use it**

- Needs company names or career-page URLs; it does not search LinkedIn, Indeed or the whole web for jobs.
- Companies on other systems (Workday, Taleo, custom pages) return no jobs.

**Example input**

```json
{
  "companies": [
    "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp",
    "greenhouse:figma",
    "openai"
  ],
  "keywords": [
    "engineer"
  ],
  "locations": [
    "London",
    "Remote"
  ],
  "maxJobsPerCompany": 25
}
```

**Output fields (one dataset item per row):** `companyName`, `title`, `department`, `location`, `isRemote`, `workplaceType`, `employmentType`, `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryInterval`, `postedAt`, `url`, `applyUrl`, `ats`, `descriptionText` (plain text, when `includeDescription` is on).

**Cost:** $0.005 per run + $0.001 per job saved ($1 per 1,000 jobs). Cap spend with `maxJobsPerCompany` and filters.

**Connect it to your agent:** add this remote MCP server (Apify's official MCP server, loaded with just this tool):

```json
{"mcpServers": {"ats-job-board-scraper": {"url": "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=ryumoon-data/ats-job-board-scraper"}}}
```

Or call it from any agent with the Apify API: `POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/ryumoon-data~ats-job-board-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items` with the input above as the JSON body. Agents without an Apify account can pay per run with [agentic payments](https://docs.apify.com/agents/payments) (x402, MPP or Skyfire).

### What can this jobs scraper do?

- 🏢 **Five applicant tracking systems in one Actor**: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and SmartRecruiters, all normalised to the same fields.
- 🔎 **Auto-detect**: give a plain slug like `openai` and it tries each board in turn until it finds the company.
- 💷 **Salary ranges** from Ashby and Lever when the employer publishes them (min, max, currency, per year/hour).
- 🌍 **Location, remote and workplace type** (remote / hybrid / onsite where the board says).
- 🧹 **Filters before you pay**: title keywords, excluded words, location, department, remote only and "posted in the last N days". You are only charged for jobs that pass your filters.
- 📄 **Full descriptions** as clean text (optional HTML).

### Use cases

- **Recruiters and staffing agencies**: watch target companies for new roles to pitch candidates into.
- **Job seekers and job boards**: build a niche job feed (e.g. remote design jobs at 200 startups).
- **Sales teams**: hiring is a buying signal. A company hiring 10 data engineers may need your data tool.
- **Investors and analysts**: track headcount plans and which teams a company is growing.
- **Labour-market research**: salary ranges, remote share and job titles across many employers.

### How much does it cost?

Pay-per-event pricing. You pay only for:

| Event | Price | When it is charged |
|---|---|---|
| Actor start | **$0.005** | Once per run (at the default 1 GB memory) |
| Job listing | **$0.001** | Each job saved to the dataset after your filters ($1 per 1,000) |

Examples:

- 1 startup with 40 open roles: about **$0.045**
- 50 companies, filtered to "engineer" roles in London (about 300 jobs): about **$0.31**
- A daily check of 20 companies with "posted within 1 day" (about 15 new jobs): about **$0.02 per day**

Use *Max jobs per company* or a *maximum cost per run* in Apify Console to cap spend.

### Input

| Field | What it does | Default |

| `locations` | Location text must contain any of these | none |
| `departments` | Department or team must contain any of these | none |

}
```
A run summary (jobs found per company, companies not found) is saved as `SUMMARY` in the run's key-value store.
### Limits (please read)
- **Only these five boards.** Companies on Workday, iCIMS, Taleo, BambooHR or their own custom site are not covered; such inputs are reported in `SUMMARY`, not charged.
- **You need to know the company.** This Actor reads company job boards; it is not a search across all jobs on the internet.
- **Salary** comes only from Ashby and Lever structured fields when the employer publishes it. Greenhouse and Workable usually put pay in the description text.
- **SmartRecruiters' list API has no description**; the row links to the full posting.
- **Posting dates** are what the board reports. Greenhouse's `postedAt` is the first publish date, so reposted roles can look old.
- Data is fetched live on each run, so it reflects the board at that moment.
### Is it legal?
It reads the public job-board APIs these vendors provide so that employers' jobs can be shown on other sites. It collects job postings only, not candidate or employee personal data. You are responsible for how you use the data; check the employer's and board's terms for your use case.
### FAQ
**Why did a company return nothing?** It may use a different board, or a different slug (e.g. `stripe` vs `stripeinc`). Open its careers page, click a job and paste that URL.
**Can I run it on a schedule?** Yes. Use Apify Schedules with `postedWithinDays: 1` to get only new jobs each day.
**Can I use it from my own code or an AI agent?** Yes, through the Apify API, the Apify MCP server, Make, Zapier or n8n.
**Found a bug or need another board?** Open an issue on the Issues tab. We reply quickly.
# Actor input Schema
## `companies` (type: `array`):
Required. Companies to fetch jobs for, as career page URLs (https://boards.greenhouse.io/figma, https://jobs.lever.co/palantir, https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp, https://apply.workable.com/huggingface, https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup), as 'ats:slug' (e.g. 'lever:netflix', 'greenhouse:figma'), or as a plain slug like 'openai' (the Actor tries each job board in turn).
## `keywords` (type: `array`):
Keep only jobs whose title contains at least one of these words, e.g. 'engineer', 'sales'. Case-insensitive. Leave empty for all jobs.
## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):
Drop jobs whose title contains any of these words, e.g. 'intern', 'senior'.
## `locations` (type: `array`):
Keep only jobs whose location text contains one of these, e.g. 'London', 'United Kingdom', 'Remote'.
## `departments` (type: `array`):
Keep only jobs whose department or team contains one of these, e.g. 'Engineering', 'Marketing'.
## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Keep only jobs the board marks as remote (or whose location says remote).
## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):
0 = any date. Jobs without a posting date are dropped when this is set.
## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):
0 = no limit. Use this to cap cost on very large employers.
## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):
Full job description as clean text (not available from SmartRecruiters' list API).
## `includeDescriptionHtml` (type: `boolean`):
Also keep the original HTML description. Makes the dataset much larger.
## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):
How many companies are fetched at once.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Not needed: these are public APIs. Only use a proxy if a board starts rate-limiting very large runs.
## Actor input object example
```json
{
  "companies": [
    "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp",
    "https://boards.greenhouse.io/figma"
  ],

  "maxConcurrency": 3,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
All jobs stored in the run's default dataset.
