## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Kleinanzeigen Scraper

Kleinanzeigen Scraper collects German classified listings from kleinanzeigen.de, formerly
eBay Kleinanzeigen, by keyword, category or a search URL copied from the website. Each
listing becomes a structured dataset row with a stable ad id, title, URL, EUR price,
location and available search-card metadata. No account or login is needed.

Use it to compare asking prices, find second-hand offers, collect local inventory or
track a narrowly defined search over time. The actor returns the results the search
page carries. It includes different models, accessories and other matches the site
considers relevant, so you can apply your own criteria after downloading the dataset.
Developers can call the actor through the Apify API and use it as a Kleinanzeigen API
for search results, with JSON, CSV or Excel output.

### Input for Kleinanzeigen Scraper

Set `query` to the keyword you would enter on the website, such as `iphone 13`, or
paste a search URL into `url`. A pasted URL preserves the website filters already
encoded in that address and takes precedence over `query` and the separate search
filters. You can also supply `category_id` without a keyword to collect a category.
The category id 173 selects Handy & Telekom.

`max_items` sets the maximum number of unique listings to return. Its default is 100,
and its supported range is 1 to 1,250. The actor follows search pages and removes
duplicates by `listing_id`. Promoted TOP ads can appear on several pages, but the same
ad is delivered once. Set `include_top_ads` to false to exclude those promoted ads.

For a keyword search, `location` accepts a German town name or postcode. `radius_km`
controls the area around that location, using the distances supported by the website:
0, 5, 10, 20, 30, 50, 100, 150 or 200 kilometres. A radius of zero selects the location
itself. An unrecognised location produces an input error rather than a nationwide
search with different results.

`price_min` and `price_max` filter asking prices in whole euros. Both accept zero.
`seller_type` can be `all`, `private` or `commercial`. `ad_type` can be `offers` for
sale listings or `wanted` for buyer requests. `sort` accepts `relevance`, `newest` and
`price_asc`; relevance and newest use the website default, while price_asc requests
ascending asking prices.

### Output

The default dataset contains one row per unique advert. Core fields include
`listing_id`, `title`, `url`, `price`, `currency`, `image_url`, `location`, `position`,
`country`, `source` and `fetched_at`. All results use EUR and country DE. The id stays
text so it can be used consistently in exports and compared across runs.

The numeric `price` is null when the card does not state a positive amount. This
includes an unspecified negotiable price and giveaway listings. Read `price_text`
and `price_type` alongside it: fixed, negotiable, free and none distinguish the
wording that appears on the listing. Do not interpret a null amount as a zero-euro
offer. `original_price`, when present, records the previous asking price exposed by
the source.

Additional fields include the description teaser, postcode, city, original German
date label, calendar date, image URLs and image count. Seller fields identify private
or commercial sellers, the public seller id and an available store URL and name.
Flags indicate promoted ads, highlighted ads, direct purchase, shipping availability
and buyer requests. The description is the search preview, which can be shortened by
the website; it is not a promise of the complete advert text.

Example row from a real `iphone 13` search with `max_items` 10:

Dates written as Heute and Gestern are interpreted in the German calendar at
collection time. `fetched_at` records UTC retrieval time. If optional listing metadata
is unavailable, the affected extras are null and the run reports a warning. The
original title, price, URL and other card values are preserved.

### Use cases for a Kleinanzeigen scraper

- **Resellers and refurbishers** collect asking prices for a model across Germany, then
separate negotiable (VB) prices, fixed prices and giveaways before they decide what to buy.
- **Price research** compares regions by postcode and city, or follows a price-sorted search
to see where the cheapest offers for a product start.
- **Local inventory monitoring** repeats the same search URL on a schedule and joins runs on
`listing_id` to spot new ads and price reductions through `original_price`.
- **Lead lists for B2B** filter commercial sellers with a public store and collect the store
name and URL that the listing exposes.
- **Market and academic analysis** samples categories such as Handy & Telekom and measures
how many ads offer shipping or direct purchase.

### Kleinanzeigen Scraper compared with other options

Kleinanzeigen does not offer a public search API for buyers or analysts. Its own interfaces
are for professional sellers who import their adverts. That leaves four common routes:

| option | what you get | effort |
|---|---|---|
| Copying ads by hand | a few ads at a time | high and error-prone |
| Open-source scripts on GitHub | raw parsing code | you run, fix and maintain it yourself |
| General scraping services | page HTML or a generic template | you still map fields and pagination |
| This actor | one clean row per unique ad, numeric price plus price wording, seller type, shipping flags, pagination up to 1,250 ads | a keyword or a pasted URL |

Several other Kleinanzeigen actors exist in the Apify Store. This actor focuses on search
results: it keeps the price wording next to the numeric amount, so a VB price or a giveaway is
never mistaken for a fixed or zero-euro offer, it removes duplicate promoted ads across pages,
and it charges per delivered unique listing.

### Limits and continuation

Kleinanzeigen exposes at most 50 result pages for a single search, with 25 organic
ads per page. Its total result count can exceed the number you can actually collect.
For wider coverage, split searches by category, area or asking price rather than
requesting more than 1,250 rows from one search.

The actor continues collection automatically when a run needs several pieces. If
a source page fails after earlier pages succeeded, those earlier listings remain
available and the run describes incomplete collection. A first-page failure returns
a readable error. A search with no genuine matches returns no listing rows; unrelated
recommendations do not become paid results.

The run summary in the default key-value store reports delivered listings, fetched
pages and the website result count. The OUTPUT record contains status, warnings and
the event counts charged by the actor. Download dataset rows as JSON, CSV or Excel
using Apify's dataset export options.

### Pricing

The initial price is $0.0015 per delivered listing plus $0.0005 per run start.
Duplicate ads do not create additional listing charges. An empty search has no
listing charge and retains the run-start fee. Consult the actor's current pricing
panel before starting a run.

Users without a paid Apify plan receive at most ten rows per run. The summary reports
`free_tier_remaining`, which is zero after all ten free rows were delivered. Paying
users can request the supported full volume; their remaining-free counter is -1.

### FAQ

#### Is there an official Kleinanzeigen API?

Not for searching listings. The interfaces Kleinanzeigen documents are for commercial sellers
who upload their own adverts. This actor gives you the search results as structured data and
can be started from any language through the Apify API, which makes it a practical
Kleinanzeigen API for search data.

#### Can I export Kleinanzeigen listings to CSV or Excel?

Yes. Every run stores the listings in an Apify dataset, which you can download as JSON, CSV,
Excel, XML or HTML, or fetch page by page through the API.

#### Does it still work for eBay Kleinanzeigen links?

Kleinanzeigen is the new name of eBay Kleinanzeigen. Paste a current kleinanzeigen.de search
address into `url`; searches by keyword or category need no URL at all.

#### Can I paste a search URL with more filters?

Yes. The actor retains the filters encoded in the pasted search address. The volume
limit and promoted-ad option still apply. Use a search URL, not an individual advert.

#### Does the dataset contain full advert details and phone numbers?

This version collects fields available on search cards. Full descriptions, contact
details, view counts and detailed condition attributes are outside this version.

#### Why did I receive fewer results than max_items?

The query may have fewer unique ads, the search may have reached its 50-page limit,
or the run may report incomplete collection. Removing promoted ads can also reduce
the total. Check the summary and warnings before treating the dataset as complete.

#### Can I compare average prices directly?

Filter buyer requests, accessories and unspecified prices according to your use
case. Asking prices describe listings, not completed sales. Use listing ids to join
successive runs and inspect changes without counting the same advert twice.
