## Pricing

from $1.19 / 1,000 companies

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Kompass Scraper & API: Company Database, Phones & Emails

Export **B2B companies, manufacturers and suppliers from Kompass.com** with **phone, website, headcount, founding year, VAT ID and register number** on every row. Then get what Kompass itself does not show: **emails found on each company's own website** (mail server checked) and their LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram links. Search by **keyword and country**, paste a **Kompass search link** or a **company link**. No login, no cookies to copy.

```json
{ "searchQueries": ["Verpackung"], "countries": ["AT", "DE"], "supplierKinds": ["producer"], "maxCompaniesPerQuery": 500 }
```

Filter by **country**, **company kind** (manufacturer, distributor, service provider) and **company size**. Kompass shows a visitor only 100 companies per search: the Actor **splits a bigger search by country, kind and size** on its own to reach more.

#### What you get

Real example, 1 November 2026: keyword **Verpackung** (packaging), Austria, the first rows:

| company | city | employees | phone | email (from website) | VAT ID | founded |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Knüppel Verpackung GmbH | Wiener Neudorf, AT | - | +43 22366776380 | info@knueppel-verpackung.at | ATU64862036 | - |
| Smurfit Kappa Nettingsdorf AG & Co KG | Haid bei Ansfelden, AT | 250 | +43 72298630 | info@smurfitkappa.de | ATU50345005 | 2000 |
| Margarethner Verpackungs Gesmbh | Margarethen am Moos, AT | 20 | +43 2230 24300 | office@mvg.co.at | ATU17729509 | 1980 |
| Fidel Gmeiner GmbH & Co. KG | Kennelbach, AT | 50 | +43 5574 713 61-0 | fidel@gmeiner.com | ATU35801307 | 1977 |
| PROFIPAC Verpackung GmbH | Kirchbichl, AT | 10 | +43 533220930 | profipac@profipac.at | ATU37571506 | 1994 |
| Paul & Co Austria GmbH & Co KG | Breitenau, AT | 50 | +43 2635633270 | info@kunertgruppe.com | ATU65211059 | 2000 |

Of the first 40 companies: **32 with phone and website, 24 with an email** from their website, 31 with a VAT ID.

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `companyId`, `name`, `url` | The company and its Kompass page |
| `website`, `phone` | Company website and main phone number (Kompass company page) |
| `email`, `emails`, `emailMailServer`, `emailSourceUrl` | The best email found on the company's website (own domain and info@ / sales@ first), all emails found, whether the domain receives mail (MX), the page it was found on |
| `contactPageUrl`, `websiteReachable`, `linkedin`, `facebook`, `instagram`, `x`, `youtube` | The website's contact / imprint page and its social profiles |
| `postalCode`, `city`, `country`, `countryCode`, `latitude`, `longitude` | Location and map coordinates (Kompass shows no street address to visitors) |
| `employeesTotal`, `employeesAtSite`, `foundingYear`, `legalForm`, `capital` | Headcount, year founded, legal form, share capital |
| `vatId`, `registerNumber`, `acronym` | VAT number and company register number |
| `activities`, `keywords`, `description`, `productCount`, `logoUrl` | What the company does, its keywords, the company text, number of products, logo |
| `importRegion`, `exportRegion`, `membership`, `memberSince`, `isCertified` | Where it imports from and exports to, Kompass membership, "certified" badge |
| `hasDetails`, `searchQuery`, `scrapedAt` | Whether the company page was read, the keyword or link the row came from, run time |

#### How it works

1. Add **Keywords** (`Verpackung`, `Schrauben`, `CNC machining`, `Edelstahlrohre`; the local language of the country works best) or **Kompass links**: a search page (`kompass.com/searchCompanies?text=...`) gives its keyword and country, a company page (`kompass.com/c/<name>/<id>/`) gives one row
2. Optionally pick **Countries** (two-letter codes), **Company kinds** and **Company size**
3. Keep **Company page details** and **Find emails on company websites** on (both default). The website that the email search needs is on the company page, so emails always read the page
4. Set **Max companies per keyword** and run. Download as CSV, Excel, JSON or HTML. Three tabs: **Companies**, **Leads** (email, phone, VAT, socials), **Company profile**

Turn on **Only companies with an email** for a mailing list: the others are left out and free.

#### Why this Actor

| | |
|---|---|
| 🛡️ **Works through Kompass's bot check** | Kompass sits behind DataDome, which stops plain scrapers. The Actor passes the check in a real browser on a German residential IP, then reads the pages at full speed with the same session. You do not set up proxies |
| 📧 **Emails Kompass does not show** | Kompass hides addresses behind a contact form. The Actor opens each company's own website, its contact and imprint pages, and returns the best address with a mail server check |
| 🧾 **VAT ID, register number, headcount** | From the company page: VAT number, register number, legal form, capital, employees, founding year |
| 🌍 **Past the 100-company limit** | A Kompass search stops at 100 companies for visitors. Large keywords are split by country, kind and size automatically |
| 🔔 **New company alerts** | **Only new companies** returns just the companies that appeared since the previous run of the same search |
| 💰 **From $1.49 per 1,000 companies** | Pay only for what you turn on, no subscription |

#### Get new companies every week

1. Add your keywords and countries and turn on **Only new companies**
2. Save as a task and add a schedule, e.g. every Monday
3. The **first run** returns the current companies as a baseline. **Every later run** returns only companies not seen before: send them to [Google Sheets](https://apify.com/s_actors/google-sheets-import-export), your CRM or email with an integration

The memory is kept in your account (key-value store `kompass-scraper-state`). Use a different **Monitor name** for each task.

#### Pricing

Pay per company in the results, no subscription needed. Apify Scale and Business plans pay less:

| Event | Free and Starter plans | Scale plan | Business plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Run start | $0.001 | $0.001 | $0.001 |
| Company (one row: name, country, city, activities) | $0.00149 | $0.00134 | $0.00119 |
| Company page details (phone, website, headcount, VAT ID...), when on | $0.00149 | $0.00134 | $0.00119 |
| Email found on the company website, when on | $0.00099 | $0.00089 | $0.00079 |
| Browser session (passes the bot check, serves 150+ companies) | $0.02 | $0.02 | $0.02 |

| Task | Cost |
|---|---|
| 30 companies with details and emails (the example) | ~$0.15 |
| 1,000 companies, list only (name, country, city, activities) | ~$1.55 |
| 1,000 companies with phone, website and VAT ID | ~$3.05 |
| 1,000 companies with details and emails (~65% with email) | ~$3.70 |

Companies left out by **Only new companies** or **Only companies with an email** are not charged. The email event is charged only when an email was found.

#### FAQ

**Where does the data come from?** From Kompass.com, the same company pages any visitor sees, without logging in. Emails come from the company's own public website (home, contact and imprint pages).

**Why are some emails or phones missing?** Kompass shows a phone number only for part of its companies and never shows email addresses. About 6 in 10 companies publish an email on their website; the rest use only a contact form, or their site is down or closed to bots.

**How many companies can I get?** One Kompass search shows visitors 100 companies. With a higher **Max companies per keyword** the search is split into one search per country (and per company kind and size for big countries), so you get far more. Name your countries to control where it looks.

**Do you give street addresses and executives?** No: Kompass shows a visitor the postal code and city only and keeps executives for registered users. The Actor never logs in.

**Do I need an account or a proxy?** No account, no API key, no proxy of your own.

**Why is there a "browser session" charge?** To read Kompass, a real browser passes its bot check once on a German residential IP; the session then serves about 150 or more companies. The charge covers this browser and the proxy traffic.

#### Use with the API and AI agents

#### Is it legal?

The Actor reads only public pages: the Kompass directory and the companies' own websites, without logging in. The data is business contact information that companies publish to be contacted. Follow the data protection and marketing rules of your country (such as GDPR and anti-spam laws) when you contact the companies, especially named contact persons.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

What the companies make or offer, like the Kompass search box: "screws", "Schrauben", "packaging", "CNC machining". One search per keyword (filters below apply). kompass.com links work here too.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Search links (kompass.com/searchCompanies?text=...) use the keyword (and country) of the link; company links (kompass.com/c/<name>/<id>/) give one row each.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter codes of the company countries (DE, AT, CH, FR, IT, ES, GB, PL...). Empty = all countries. Several countries = one search each, which also reaches past the 100 companies a single search shows.

## `supplierKinds` (type: `array`):

Only manufacturers, distributors or service providers. Empty = all.

## `employees` (type: `array`):

Kompass headcount classes: 0 = not given, 1 = up to 9, 2 = 10-19, 3 = 20-49, 4 = 50-99, 5-9 = larger classes. Used to cut a big search into parts. Empty = all sizes.

## `maxCompaniesPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

For each keyword and search link. Kompass shows a visitor 100 companies per search: above that the search is split by country, company kind and size to reach more.

## `maxCompanies` (type: `integer`):

The run stops at this many companies.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Read each company page: phone, website, headcount, founding year, VAT ID, register number, capital, legal form, keywords, coordinates. Charged per company page read. Without it the list only has name, country, city and activities.

## `findEmails` (type: `boolean`):

Kompass does not show email addresses: open the company website (and its contact or imprint page) to find them, plus LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube links. Needs the company page details (the website comes from there). Charged only for companies with an email found.

## `checkEmailDomains` (type: `boolean`):

Drop emails whose domain cannot receive mail (no MX record).

## `onlyWithEmail` (type: `boolean`):

Output only companies with an email found (the others are free).

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Output only companies not seen in the previous runs of the same search (and monitor name). Schedule it weekly to get new companies of a keyword.

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Keeps the memory of seen companies apart for different schedules.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Browser sessions (residential German IPs) working at the same time. More is faster for big runs and uses more memory.
