## Pricing

from $0.64 / 1,000 jobs

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Wellfound Jobs Scraper & API: Startup Salary, Equity and Visa Jobs

Scrape **Wellfound (formerly AngelList Talent) startup jobs** to Excel, CSV or JSON **without login**. Every job comes with its salary and equity as numbers and the startup behind it. What sets it apart:

- **Salary and equity as numbers.** "$120k – $200k • 0.01% – 0.15%" becomes `salaryYearlyMin`, `salaryYearlyMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `equityMin`, `equityMax`. Filter by minimum salary or minimum equity.
- **Startup signals on every job, free**: stage (early, growth, scale, public), size, **Y Combinator**, **top investors**, **valuation $500M+ / $1B+**, growing fast, Glassdoor ratings.
- **How fast the startup replies to applicants**: "Responds within a day", "within a week", top 1% of responders. Keep only startups that answer.
- **Visa sponsorship, relocation, skills and funding** from each job page (optional): total raised, number of rounds, last round and its date.
- **Job alerts, no reposts.** Schedule it and get only the jobs you have not seen.

```json
{ "roles": ["software engineer"], "locations": ["San Francisco"], "ycOnly": true, "onlyWithEquity": true }
```

No Wellfound account, no cookies. Use it as a **Wellfound jobs API**: one call returns clean JSON with the fields above.

#### What you get

**One row per job.** Real example, September 2026 (software engineer, United States):

| job | startup | location | salary and equity | stage | replies | YC |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Senior Software Engineer | Confident LIMS | San Francisco Bay Area | $100k – $180k • 0.05% – 0.25% | Early stage | within a day | ✅ |
| Software Engineer | Boom | Austin | $120k – $200k • 0.01% – 0.15% | Early stage | | |
| Embedded Software Engineer | Starfish Space | Tukwila | $100k – $180k • 0.01% – 0.05% | Growth stage | | |
| Software Engineer - Fullstack | Nextdoor | Dallas | $135k – $200k | Public | | |

In our test of 100 US software engineer jobs (September 2026) 98 had a pay range, 13 offered equity (10 more said "no equity"), 81 had the startup's stage, 49 were backed by top investors, 31 were YC startups and 30 showed how fast the startup replies.

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `jobId`, `jobUrl`, `title`, `primaryRole` | The job and its Wellfound page |
| `companyName`, `companyId`, `companyUrl`, `companyLogo`, `companyTagline` | The startup and its one-line pitch |
| `location`, `locations`, `workplaceType`, `remoteAllowedIn` | Where; `remote`, `remote or on-site`, `hybrid` or `on-site`; countries a remote job accepts |
| `salaryText`, `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryPeriod`, `salaryYearlyMin`, `salaryYearlyMax` | Pay as posted and per year (₹ lakhs converted: ₹20L = 2 000 000) |
| `equityMin`, `equityMax`, `hasEquity`, `compensationText` | Equity range in % (`hasEquity` = false for "No equity") |
| `postedDate`, `postedAt` | When the job went live on Wellfound |
| `employmentType`, `yearsExperienceMin`, `experienceLevel` | Full-time, contract, internship, cofounder; minimum years asked |
| `companyStage`, `companySize`, `ycFunded`, `topInvestors`, `valuation`, `growingFast`, `recentlyFunded`, `businessModel`, `companyBadges` | Wellfound's startup badges |

| `searchKeyword`, `searchLocation`, `searchUrl`, `isNew`, `scrapedAt` | Which search found the job; job alerts |

With **Load job pages** (or the visa / relocation filters) each job also gets:

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `visaSponsorship`, `relocation` | Does the startup sponsor a visa / allow relocation |
| `skills`, `preferredTimezones`, `collaborationHours`, `remotePolicy` | Skills asked; time zones and hours for remote jobs |

| `industries`, `companyWebsite`, `city`, `region`, `country`, `latitude`, `longitude` | Markets, website and exact address |
| `recruiterRecentlyActive`, `isClosed` | The recruiter was active lately; the job was taken down |

Four table views: **Jobs**, **Startups**, **Salary & equity** and **Visa & funding**.

#### How it works

| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Search | Each role in each location (or your pasted Wellfound links), page by page: 20 startups per page with up to 3 jobs each |
| 2. Filters | Date posted, job type, salary, equity, experience, stage, size, YC, investors, valuation, reply time, title words, companies. Jobs removed here are not charged |
| 3. Job pages | Only if you ask: visa sponsorship, relocation, skills, funding. Visa and relocation filters apply after the page is read; jobs that fail them are not charged |
| 4. Clean-up | The same job found by several searches appears once; reposts (same title, startup and place) are skipped |
| 5. Job alerts | With **Only new jobs** on, jobs from earlier runs are skipped and not charged |

#### Ready-made tasks

| Task | What it does |
|---|---|
| [Wellfound Remote Jobs Scraper](https://apify.com/s_actors/wellfound-jobs-scraper/examples/wellfound-remote-jobs) | Remote startup jobs with salary and equity |
| [Startup Jobs With Visa Sponsorship](https://apify.com/s_actors/wellfound-jobs-scraper/examples/startup-jobs-visa-sponsorship) | Only jobs where the startup sponsors a work visa |
| [Y Combinator Startup Jobs](https://apify.com/s_actors/wellfound-jobs-scraper/examples/yc-startup-jobs) | Jobs at YC-funded startups, with equity |

#### Job alerts

1. Set your roles, locations and filters, turn on **Only new jobs**, give the alert a **Monitor name**.
2. Save it as a task and add a **schedule** (every morning, with "Posted within: Past 24 hours").
3. Send the results by email, Slack, Google Sheets, Make, Zapier or **n8n** with Apify integrations.

The first run returns the current jobs; next runs return only jobs not seen before.

#### FAQ

**Does Wellfound have an API?** Not a public one for job search: the old AngelList API is closed. This Actor reads the job pages Wellfound shows to any visitor and returns them as JSON through the Apify API.

**Which roles and locations work?** The ones Wellfound has job pages for: roles like "software engineer", "product manager", "data scientist", "designer", "marketing", "sales", "devops engineer"; places like "San Francisco", "New York", "London", "Berlin", "Bangalore", "India", "Europe", "United States", and "Remote". You can also paste any wellfound.com/role/... or /location/... link.

**How many jobs per search?** Wellfound lists up to 89 pages of 20 startups for a search, with up to 3 jobs of each startup per page: about 4 000 jobs for a big role. For more, add locations or roles.

**How is equity shown?** As Wellfound posts it: a range in % of the company ("0.05% – 0.25%"). `hasEquity` is false when the job says "No equity" and empty when it says nothing.

**What does "replies within a week" mean?** Wellfound measures how fast each startup answers applications and shows it as a badge. Startups without the badge are skipped by the filter.

**Do I need a Wellfound account?** No. Only pages any visitor can open are read.

#### Use with the API and AI agents

Run it from the Apify API, the JavaScript or Python client, **n8n**, Make or Zapier, or from AI agents through the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com) (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor). One call: `POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/s_actors~wellfound-jobs-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items` with the input above returns the jobs as JSON. Set **Job description** to "None" for smaller answers.

#### Is it legal?

The Actor reads public Wellfound job listings that anyone can open without an account, as a visitor does. It does not log in or collect personal profiles. Use the data according to the laws that apply to you (GDPR and similar) and Wellfound's terms.
