## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

What people are searching for on Google **right now**, for **one or many countries in one run**: each trending search with its **approximate search volume**, **when it started**, a picture and the **news articles** Google links to it. From Google Trends' public "Trending now" feed.

**$1 per 1,000 trends.** No proxies, no login.

### Quick start

Press **Start** with the example input: the current trending searches in the United States and the United Kingdom.

```json
{
  "geos": ["US", "GB", "DE", "TR", "BR", "IN"],
  "minTraffic": 1000,
  "keywords": "ai, iphone, election"
}
```

### What you get

```json
{
  "geo": "US",
  "rank": 1,
  "query": "election results",
  "approxTraffic": "2M+",
  "traffic": 2000000,
  "startedAt": "2026-11-04T09:00:00Z",
  "picture": "https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=…",
  "pictureSource": "The Example Times",
  "newsCount": 3,
  "topNewsTitle": "Live results: …",
  "topNewsUrl": "https://news.example/…",
  "news": [{"title": "…", "url": "…", "source": "…", "picture": "…"}],
  "exploreUrl": "https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?geo=US&q=election%20results&date=now%207-d",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-11-04T11:00:00Z"
}
```

`traffic` is the lower end of Google's range as a number (200+ → 200, 10K+ → 10000), handy for sorting and filtering.

### Use it for

- **Newsrooms and creators**: a feed of rising topics per country every hour, with the news that explains each one.
- **SEO and content teams**: spot topics early and plan articles; open `exploreUrl` for the 7-day interest curve.
- **Monitoring**: schedule it and connect Slack, e-mail or Google Sheets; filter by your keywords so only relevant trends arrive.

### Inputs

- **Countries**: two-letter codes (US, GB, DE, FR, TR, BR, IN, JP …), as many as you like.
- **Keywords**: keep trends whose search or news titles contain any of the words.
- **Minimum search volume** and **Maximum trends per country**.
- **Include news articles**: on by default.

### What it costs

**$1 per 1,000 trends** written to the dataset, plus a tiny $0.00005 start fee per run. A feed holds a few dozen trends per country, so an hourly run for 3 countries costs around $0.10 a day.

### Good to know

- This is Google's live "Trending now" list for the last hours, not historical interest over time. For interest over time, regions and related queries, see [Google Trends API](https://apify.com/saliga/google-trends).
- Search volumes are Google's approximate ranges.
