# Social Media Profile Finder: Company Profiles from Websites (`sandy_yclept/social-media-profile-finder`) Actor

Find a company's social media profiles from its website: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest - canonical, de-duplicated, never a share link or a website builder's own profile. Paste a list of websites; pay only per website with profiles found.

## Pricing

from $1.60 / 1,000 social profile sets

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Social Media Profile Finder do?

**Social Media Profile Finder** reads a list of company websites and returns, for each one, **the company's own social media profiles**: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), YouTube, TikTok and Pinterest — one row per website, every link canonical and de-duplicated.

It reads the homepage and the contact and about pages, the way a person would look for the icons in the header and footer. Share buttons, "follow us" widgets, tracking pixels, a template's placeholder profiles and the profiles of the website builder the site runs on (a Squarespace site's footer links Squarespace's Instagram) are left out. You pay **only for a website on which profiles were found**.

Run it from the Apify Console, through the API, on a schedule, or from an AI agent through Apify's MCP server.

### Why use it?

- **Enrich a lead list** with the brand's profiles before outreach on social media.
- **Audit competitors'** social presence across a market.
- **Fill a CRM** with LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook links without opening each website.
- **One row per company**, profiles grouped by network, ready for a spreadsheet.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab and paste the websites (domains or URLs), upload a text or CSV file, or link a Google Sheet.
2. Click **Start**.
3. Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML from the **Output** tab.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Websites | Company websites, one row per website in the output. A URL listed twice is read once. |
| Max contact and about subpages | Pages read on top of the homepage (default 2). Profiles are almost always in the header or footer. |
| Phone region, proxy | As in [Website Contact & Email Scraper](https://apify.com/sandy_yclept/website-contact-email-scraper); a site that refuses the cloud is retried through Apify Proxy. |

### Output

apify.com, as read on October 10, 2026:

```json
{
  "domain": "https://apify.com/",
  "website": "https://apify.com/",
  "socials": {
    "linkedin": [
      "https://linkedin.com/company/apify"
    ],
    "twitter": [
      "https://x.com/apify"
    ],
    "youtube": [
      "https://youtube.com/apify"
    ],
    "tiktok": [
      "https://tiktok.com/@apifytech",
      "https://tiktok.com/@apifyoffice"
    ]
  },
  "profile_count": 5,
  "linkedin_company": "https://linkedin.com/company/apify",
  "status": "found",
  "pages_crawled": 3,
  "billed": true
}
```

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `socials` | The profiles found, by network, canonical (`twitter.com` becomes `x.com`, nothing after the handle). |
| `profile_count` | How many profiles in all. |
| `linkedin_company` | The LinkedIn company page among them, when there is one (not a person's profile). |
| `status` | `found`, `not_found` (the site was read and links no profile), or `unreachable`. |
| `billed` | Whether this website was charged. |

Emails and phone numbers are not in the rows: for those, use [Website Contact & Email Scraper](https://apify.com/sandy_yclept/website-contact-email-scraper).

### Accuracy

Measured on three samples picked before anything was run on them (the engine's public benchmark): 300 random Y Combinator startups, 150 random `.de` domains and 128 local businesses from Google Maps.

| Sample | Websites read | With profiles | Profiles per website (median) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Startups | 294 | 207 (70%) | 2 |
| German websites | 115 | 78 (68%) | 3 |
| Local businesses | 120 | 93 (78%) | 3 |

On the engine's 32 hand-checked pages, every profile returned was the site's own (precision 100%, 101 of 108 profiles found). Across the 529 websites, two linked a website builder's profiles (Squarespace's), which are now left out.

### How much does it cost?

**$0.002 per website with profiles found** — all of its profiles in one row — on the Free and Starter plans, 10% less on Scale, 20% less from Business up. A website with no profile, or one that could not be read, costs nothing. 1,000 websites with profiles cost $2.

### Tips

- Give the company's main domain, not a page deep inside it.
- Keep the subpage limit at 2: more pages rarely add a profile, and a team page adds the employees' personal ones.

### FAQ

**Why does a website show no profile I can see in a browser?** Some sites draw their icons with scripts after the page loads; this Actor reads the page as served. It retries a site that refuses the cloud through Apify Proxy.

**Are employees' profiles included?** A person's LinkedIn (`/in/...`) linked from the homepage or the about page is included in `socials`; `linkedin_company` is always the company's page.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Company websites (domains or URLs) to find social media profiles on. One row per website. Paste them, upload or link a text or CSV file of them, or link a Google Sheet shared with "anyone with the link". A URL listed twice is read once.

## `maxContactPages` (type: `integer`):

How many subpages (contact, about) to read on each website on top of its homepage. Profiles are almost always in the header or footer; more pages rarely add one and cost time.

## `phoneRegion` (type: `string`):

ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code (e.g. PL, US, GB, DE) used to parse phone numbers written without an international prefix. Leave empty to auto-detect from each site's TLD; numbers written with a leading + are always parsed.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional proxy for fetching pages. Apify Proxy's datacenter IPs are included in every Apify plan, the Free plan too; residential proxies are billed separately. Left disabled, the Actor connects directly, and retries sites that refuse it through Apify Proxy (see below).

## `proxyFallback` (type: `boolean`):

Every cloud run has a datacenter IP address, and some sites turn those away. A site that refuses or drops the direct connection is retried once through Apify Proxy's datacenter IPs (included in every Apify plan, the Free plan too), then once more directly. Sites that answer directly never go through the proxy, and robots.txt is respected either way. Has no effect when a proxy is configured above.
