## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Italian Codice Fiscale, Partita IVA & IBAN Validator

Validate and decode Italian identifiers in bulk — fast, offline, no scraping, no API keys.

### What it does

| Input | Checks | Extra output |
|---|---|---|
| **Codice fiscale** (16 chars, individuals) | format, check character, real calendar date, *omocodia* (substituted digits) | birth date, sex, Belfiore municipality code, born-abroad flag |
| **Codice fiscale numerico** (11 digits, companies) | check digit | — |
| **Partita IVA** (with or without `IT`, spaces, dots) | check digit, tax office code | EU format `IT…`; optional **live VIES check** (active or not, name, address) |
| **IBAN** (any country, ISO 13616) | country length, mod-97 check digits | pretty print; for **Italy and San Marino** full BBAN split (CIN, ABI, CAB, account) and **CIN verification** |

Values are auto-detected, so you can paste a mixed list. Every result carries machine-readable `errori` (errors) and `avvisi` (warnings) codes, e.g. `carattere_di_controllo_errato`, `cin_errato`, `data_inesistente`, `codice_omocodico`.

### Input

```json
{
  "values": [
    "RSSMRA85T10A562S",
    "IT00743110157",
    "IT60 X054 2811 1010 0000 0123 456",
    { "value": "00743110157", "type": "codice_fiscale" }
  ],
  "checkVies": false
}
```

### Output (one dataset item per value)

```json
{
  "tipo": "codice_fiscale",
  "input": "RSSMRA85T10A562S",
  "normalizzato": "RSSMRA85T10A562S",
  "valido": true,
  "errori": [],
  "avvisi": ["secolo_di_nascita_dedotto"],
  "sottotipo": "persona_fisica",
  "omocodico": false,
  "sesso": "M",
  "dataNascita": "1985-12-10",
  "codiceBelfiore": "A562",
  "natoAllEstero": false
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event: a small fee per validated value, and a separate fee per VIES check that actually completed (failed VIES calls are not charged).

### Privacy

- Your values stay in your run and in your own dataset. The Actor keeps no copy.
- Nothing you enter is written to the logs: they contain only counts.
- With `checkVies` enabled, each formally valid partita IVA is sent to the European Commission's VIES service to check whether it is active. Nothing else leaves the run.

### Limits, stated plainly

- A formally valid code is not proof that the person or company exists. Only the optional VIES check says whether a VAT number is active.
- The birth century of a codice fiscale is deduced (two-digit year); the result carries the warning `secolo_di_nascita_dedotto`.
- Municipality names are not resolved from the Belfiore code in this version.
- The VIES service is run by the European Commission and is sometimes unavailable; the result then says `eseguito: false` with the reason.

### In italiano

# Actor input Schema

## `values` (type: `array`):

List of codici fiscali, partite IVA or IBANs. Plain strings are auto-detected; you can also pass objects like {"value": "...", "type": "iban"}.

## `defaultType` (type: `string`):

Force a type for plain-string values. Leave on 'auto' to detect each value.

## `checkVies` (type: `boolean`):

For each formally valid partita IVA, ask the EU VIES service whether it is active (name and address when available). Charged separately.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "values": [
    "RSSMRA85T10A562S",
    "IT00743110157",
    "IT60 X054 2811 1010 0000 0123 456",
    "SM86U0322509800000000270100"
  ],
  "defaultType": "auto",
  "checkVies": false
}
