## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Shopify Leads Scraper

Get contact details (email, phone, social profiles) and a short product summary for Shopify stores, one row per store. The actor uses only publicly accessible store endpoints and pages. No login required.

### What It Does

1. **Take your stores**: Give it Shopify store URLs. Optionally (experimental) give niche keywords and it tries to discover stores through a Google search.
2. **Verify liveness**: Confirms each store is a live Shopify store via its public `/meta.json` and `/products.json`
3. **Extract contact data**: Reads the homepage and the contact/about pages linked from it for emails, phones and social links
4. **Enrich with product intel**: Reports the product count, top product types and price range

### Use Cases

- **B2B lead generation**: Find Shopify store owners in specific niches to pitch your product or service
- **Market research**: Map the competitive landscape in any Shopify niche
- **Partnership prospecting**: Find complementary stores for co-marketing opportunities
- **Supplier outreach**: Identify stores selling products you supply

### Input

| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|-----------|------|---------|-------------|
| `keywords` | array of strings |: | Experimental: niche keywords for Google-based store discovery. Google often blocks this; the run status says so |
| `storeUrls` | array of strings |: | Shopify store URLs to scrape |
| `maxStoresPerKeyword` | integer | 20 | Maximum stores to discover per keyword |
| `maxPagesPerStore` | integer | 3 | HTML pages to crawl per store (homepage + contact pages) |

If both `keywords` and `storeUrls` are empty, the actor scrapes the demo store allbirds.com (one result).

### Output

| `currency` | string | Store currency code (e.g. `USD`) |
| `country` | string | ISO country code (e.g. `US`) |
| `emails` | array | All unique emails found across all scraped pages |
| `phones` | array | All phone numbers found |
| `social_links` | object | Social profiles: LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest |
| `keywords_matched` | array | Input keywords that discovered this store |
| `product_count` | integer | Number of published products the store reports |
| `top_categories` | array | Top product types by frequency (up to 5) |
| `price_min` | number | Lowest product price found |

{
  "storeUrls": ["https://www.allbirds.com", "https://kith.com"],
  "maxPagesPerStore": 3
}
```
  "pages_crawled": 3,
  "scraped_at": "2026-05-25T10:00:00Z"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per result. You are charged only for stores that were saved to the dataset; a run with no results costs nothing.

| Event | Price |
|-------|-------|
| `actor-start` (once per run, charged with the first saved store) | $0.005 |
| `shopify-leads-result` (per store saved) | $0.006 |

If you set a maximum total charge for the run, the actor stops before the next store would exceed it.

### MCP Integration

```
Use the santamaria-automations/shopify-leads-scraper MCP tool to get contact emails and social links for allbirds.com and kith.com
```

```
Use santamaria-automations/shopify-leads-scraper to extract the contact emails of these Shopify stores
```

### Data Sources

All data is extracted from publicly accessible Shopify endpoints: no login, API keys, or credentials required:

- Store metadata (name, country, currency) from the public `/meta.json`
- Product categories and pricing from public product listing
- Contact details from the public homepage and contact/about pages
- Social media profiles from homepage link analysis

### Notes

- Keyword discovery is experimental. Google currently serves a JavaScript-only page to non-browser clients, so it usually finds nothing; the run status message says when that happens
- Email availability varies; many stores publish no address in their HTML
- The actor waits at least 1 second between requests and does not work around bot checks: stores that block access are skipped and listed in the run status
- Pages are not rendered, so emails that a theme only injects with JavaScript are not found

### Data protection

This actor returns only data that is publicly visible on the source pages. Results can include personal data, such as names, phone numbers, email addresses and addresses of private persons, sole traders or contact persons. Where the source labels an entry type, it is included so you can filter the results yourself.

You are responsible for using the data lawfully, including the GDPR/DSGVO, national data-protection laws and unfair-competition rules (e.g. UWG) for marketing and outreach.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Experimental. Niche keywords (e.g. "coffee", "pet supplies") used to discover Shopify stores through a Google search. Google often serves a JavaScript wall to non-browser clients; when that happens the run says so and no stores are discovered. Prefer Store URLs for reliable results.

## `storeUrls` (type: `array`):

Shopify store URLs or myshopify.com domains to extract leads from. If both Store URLs and Niche Keywords are empty, the actor scrapes the demo store allbirds.com.

## `maxStoresPerKeyword` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of stores to take per keyword (keyword discovery only). Default 20.

## `maxPagesPerStore` (type: `integer`):

Maximum HTML pages to crawl per store for email and phone extraction (homepage + contact pages). Default: 3.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "storeUrls": [
    "https://www.allbirds.com",
    "https://kith.com"
  ],
  "maxStoresPerKeyword": 20,
  "maxPagesPerStore": 3
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `defaultDataset` (type: `string`):

One record per Shopify store with all extracted lead data: email, phone, social media profiles, product categories, and the search keywords that discovered the store
