## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Skool Community Posts Scraper

Collect the posts of public Skool communities. For each post you get the title, text, author, likes, comment count, category, pinned flag, dates and the link to the post, in one row.

Typical uses: community and topic research, tracking what members ask and share, monitoring a niche, building a content or lead research list from public discussions.

### What you get

One row per post:

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `post_id` | Skool post identifier |
| `title` | Post title, `null` if the post has none |
| `content` | Post text as shown in the community feed |
| `author_name` | Display name of the author |
| `author_slug` | Skool handle of the author |
| `author_url` | Link to the author profile |
| `like_count` | Likes on the post |
| `comment_count` | Number of comments |
| `pinned` | `true` if the post is pinned in the community |
| `category` | Category of the post inside the community, for example "General" |
| `posted_at` | When the post was created (ISO 8601, UTC) |
| `updated_at` | When the post was last updated |
| `last_comment_at` | When the latest comment was written (empty if there is none) |
| `post_url`, `post_slug` | Link to the post and its URL slug |
| `community_name`, `community_slug`, `community_url` | The community the post belongs to |
| `image_url` | Preview image of the post (empty if there is none) |
| `video_links` | Video links attached to the post (empty list if none) |
| `attachment_count` | Number of files attached to the post |
| `source_platform`, `scraped_at` | `skool.com` and the extraction time |

A post is returned once per run, even if it shows up on several pages or in several communities. Pinned posts are included and marked with `pinned`.

### Input

| Parameter | Default | Description |
|-----------|---------|-------------|
| `communityUrls` | sample community | Community URLs or slugs, for example `https://www.skool.com/chatgpt` or `chatgpt` |
| `maxPostsPerCommunity` | 100 | Posts per community, 0 for no limit. About 30 posts are read per page, more pages are loaded as needed |
| `maxResults` | 0 | Stop after this many posts in total, 0 for no limit |

Communities can be given as a list or as one comma separated string, as full URLs or as bare slugs. Numbers can be given as text ("30"). Empty input runs a small sample of about 10 posts from one public community.

#### Example input

```json
{
  "communityUrls": [
    "https://www.skool.com/chatgpt",
    "ai-automation-society"
  ],
  "maxPostsPerCommunity": 100
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per result: one charge for each delivered post and a small one-time start charge that is billed only once the first post is delivered (a run with no posts costs nothing). Current prices are on the Pricing tab. A run stops before a post that would exceed your maximum total charge.

### Use with AI assistants

Call it from Claude or another MCP client through the Apify MCP server:

> "Use the skool-community-scraper to get the latest 50 posts from the Skool community chatgpt and summarize the most discussed topics"

### FAQ

**Why were some communities skipped?**
Communities that are members-only are skipped, because their posts are not public. The run status lists them as "requires membership". The other communities in the same run are still delivered.

### Data protection

This actor returns only data that is publicly visible on the source pages. Results can include personal data, such as the names and handles of post authors. You are responsible for using the data lawfully, including the GDPR/DSGVO and national data-protection laws.

# Actor input Schema

## `communityUrls` (type: `array`):

Skool communities to read, one per line: a full URL such as https://www.skool.com/chatgpt or just the slug (chatgpt). A comma separated string works too. Communities that need a membership are skipped. Leave empty to run a small sample of about 10 posts.

## `maxPostsPerCommunity` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of posts to return per community, newest activity first. Set 0 for no limit. About 30 posts are read per page.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many posts across all communities. Set 0 for no limit.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional proxy settings. Leave the default unless you need a specific region.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "communityUrls": [
    "https://www.skool.com/chatgpt"
  ],
  "maxPostsPerCommunity": 100,
  "maxResults": 0,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `defaultDataset` (type: `string`):

Posts extracted from public Skool.com communities, including content, author details, engagement metrics, and timestamps.
