## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## TED EU Public Tenders Scraper

Search EU public procurement tenders, contract notices and award results on TED (Tenders Electronic Daily) by keyword, country, CPV code, notice type and date. No API key or login. Deadlines, buyers, values, winners and direct links.

### What does it do?

It queries the **official TED search API** of the EU Publications Office (the same data behind ted.europa.eu) and returns clean, flat rows you can export to JSON, CSV or Excel, schedule daily, or push to Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, a CRM or your own code via the Apify API. No browser, no proxies, fast and cheap. TED publishes about 800,000 notices a year from all 27 EU countries plus EEA and other participating states.

### Use cases

- **Daily tender alerts:** schedule a run for your CPV codes and countries and get every new open tender
- **Bid / no-bid pipelines and lead generation** for companies selling to European governments
- **Competitor tracking:** pull contract award results to see who wins, for how much, and from which buyers
- **Market research** and feeding BI dashboards or AI agents with fresh EU procurement data

Pair it with our **SAM.gov Contract Opportunities Scraper** for U.S. federal tenders.

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `keywords` | string | Full-text search in any EU language. Empty = all. |
| `countries` | array | ISO 3-letter buyer countries, e.g. `DEU`, `FRA`, `ITA` |
| `cpvCodes` | array | CPV codes, e.g. `72000000` (IT services) |
| `noticeTypes` | array | `competition` (open tenders), `result` (awards), `planning`, `change` |
| `publishedFrom` / `publishedTo` | string | YYYY-MM-DD. With no filters at all, the last 7 days are returned. |
| `openOnly` | boolean | Only tenders whose deadline hasn't passed |
| `language` | string | Preferred language for titles and names (default `eng`) |
| `query` | string | Optional raw TED expert query, ANDed with the filters |

### Output

Fields: `publicationNumber`, `title`, `formType`, `noticeType`, `publicationDate`, `buyerName`, `buyerCity`, `buyerCountry`, `procedureType`, `contractNature`, `mainCpv`, `cpvCodes`, `placeOfPerformance`, `tenderDeadline`, `estimatedValue`, `estimatedValueCurrency`, `winnerNames`, `totalAwardValue`, `totalAwardValueCurrency`, `url`, `pdfUrl`. See `test/sample-output.json` for real rows. Personal contact details (named contact persons, emails, phone numbers) are intentionally not collected.

### Pricing (pay per event)

- **Actor start:** $0.005 per run
- **Result:** $3.00 per 1,000 notices

You pay only for results. Set a maximum charge per run in Apify Console to cap spend.

### FAQ

**Do I need a TED API key?** No. TED search is public.
**How fresh is the data?** Live: TED publishes new notices every working day, and results come straight from TED at run time, newest first.
**Which countries are covered?** All EU member states plus other countries that publish on TED (e.g. Norway, Switzerland, Ukraine).
