## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

**Paste a list of French company websites. Get the decision maker (CEO, manager, managing director, founder) and their SMTP-verified business email.** No API key, no third-party credits: run it and export to CSV, Excel or JSON.

### What does it do?

This Actor automates **B2B prospecting in France**. From a simple domain name (`company.fr`), it identifies the company, its decision makers and likely email addresses, then **tests each address against the company's mail server** without sending any message.

Typical use cases:

- **Find the email of a French company's CEO or manager** from its website
- **Build B2B lead lists** (SMEs, tradespeople, agencies, firms, manufacturers)
- **Enrich a CRM, Airtable or Google Sheets** with name, role, SIREN, NAF code, headcount and city
- **Feed cold email sequences** with real decision makers
- **Qualify leads** before a sales call

### How it works

1. **Reliable company matching**: the Actor reads the site's legal notice, extracts the **SIREN** (Luhn-validated) and queries the official French company registry (`recherche-entreprises.api.gouv.fr`). The company name must match the domain, so homonyms are filtered out.
2. **Decision maker extraction**: President, Manager, Managing Director, Founder, based on the roles you choose.
3. **Email pattern generation**: `first.last@`, `f.last@`, `flast@`, `first@`, `last@`.
4. **SMTP verification**: each address is checked against the company's mail server. No email is ever sent.
5. **Clean, exportable output** with an explicit status for every email.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `domains` | List of domains (`example.fr`). Required. |
| `roles` | Roles to look for. Default: président, gérant, directeur général, dirigeant, fondateur. |
| `maxPerCompany` | Maximum decision makers per company (default 3). |
| `verifyEmails` | Enables SMTP verification (default: on). |

```json
{
  "domains": ["tecwatt.fr", "orange.fr"],
  "maxPerCompany": 2,
  "verifyEmails": true
}
```

### Output

```json
{
  "domaine": "tecwatt.fr",
  "entreprise": "TECWATT",
  "siren": "835348053",
  "naf": "43.21A",
  "effectif": "02",
  "ville": "LIMONEST",
  "decideur": { "prenom": "Laurent", "nom": "Dolivet", "fonction": "Président de SAS" },
  "email_valide": null,
  "email_statut": "aucun_pattern_valide",
  "emails_verifies": [
    { "email": "laurent.dolivet@tecwatt.fr", "pattern": "prenom.nom", "statut": "invalide" }
  ],
  "emails_generiques_site": ["contact@tecwatt.fr"]
}
```

#### Email statuses (transparent, no false positives)

| `email_statut` | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `publie_sur_site` | Email found publicly on the company website |
| `verifie_smtp` | Address confirmed by the company's mail server |
| `aucun_pattern_valide` | The server rejects every tested format |
| `catch_all_non_verifiable` | The domain accepts all addresses, so confirmation is impossible |
| `non_verifiable` | Mail server blocks verification (e.g. Google Workspace, Microsoft 365) |
| `domaine_sans_mx` | The domain does not receive email |

### Limits

- **French companies only** (registered in France, with a SIREN).
- Domains hosted on **Google Workspace, Microsoft 365** or configured as **catch-all** cannot be verified address by address. They return `non_verifiable` or `catch_all_non_verifiable`.
- The Actor **never** returns a "valid" email without confirming it.
- Decision maker data comes from official public sources. Comply with **GDPR** and B2B prospecting rules (legitimate interest, right to object) in your campaigns.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **you only pay for each decision maker found** (`decideur-trouve`). Domains with no result are not charged.

### Why this Actor?

- Built for **France**: official company registry and SIREN, no approximate data scraped from social profiles.
- **No API key** and no email verification credits to buy.
- **Honest email statuses**: you know exactly what is verified and what is not.
- Works with **Make, n8n, Zapier, Airtable and Google Sheets** through the Apify API and webhooks.

### FAQ

**Can I search by company name or SIREN?**
For now, input is by domain name, the most reliable way to avoid homonyms.

**Are the emails guaranteed?**
A `verifie_smtp` email was accepted by the company's mail server. No verification method offers a 100% guarantee.

**Is any message sent to the decision makers?**
No. The check stops before sending: no email is ever sent.

**Issue or feature request?**
Open a ticket in the *Issues* tab of this Actor.
