## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Amazon Product Scraper: Price, Stock, Specs

Get live price, stock, rating, images, feature bullets and the full specs table for any Amazon product page on amazon.com (US). Give it ASINs, product links or search queries and get one clean row per product as JSON, CSV or Excel. No Amazon account or API key needed.

It also tells you when a listing is gone: every row has a `status` that separates a live product, an unavailable one, a dead page and a page that could not be read, so a temporary block is never mistaken for a dead link.

### What you can do with it

- **Keep an affiliate or comparison site current.** Re-check your ASINs on a schedule and hide products that are gone or out of stock.
- **Track competitor prices and stock** for a list of products.
- **Build a product catalog** from a keyword search: sizes, materials, dimensions and brands from the specs table.
- **Research a niche:** ratings, review counts, prices and best seller rank across the top search results.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `asins` | 10-character product IDs, one per line |
| `urls` | amazon.com product links (the ASIN is read from the link) |
| `searchQueries`, `maxResultsPerQuery` | Keyword searches; every organic result is scraped |
| `includeDetails` | Turn off to return search results only |
| `maxConcurrency` | Pages loaded at the same time (default 5) |
| `proxyConfiguration` | US residential proxy (default) |

Example:

```json
{
    "asins": ["B0BTZ8LF7J", "B07M6WXKHR"],
    "searchQueries": ["chicken coop for 6 chickens"],
    "maxResultsPerQuery": 20
}
```

### Output

One row per product. Main fields:

| Field | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| `status` | `ok`, `unavailable` (live page, cannot be bought), `not_found` (page is gone) or `blocked` (could not read it; not the same as dead) |
| `price`, `listPrice`, `currency` | Current US price and the struck-through list price when shown |
| `inStock`, `availability` | Stock flag and the text Amazon shows |
| `rating`, `reviewCount` | Star rating and number of ratings |
| `title`, `brand`, `seller` | Listing basics |
| `image`, `images` | Main image and up to 8 full-size images |
| `bullets`, `specs`, `categories`, `bestSellerRank` | Feature bullets, product details table, breadcrumbs and rank |

Search queries also add `search_result` rows with the position and a sponsored flag. Sponsored results are listed but not scraped.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$2.50 per 1,000 product pages** read ($0.0025 each), plus **$0.003 per run**. Blocked pages and dead links are free. To cap spending, set "Maximum cost per run" in the run options before you start; the Actor stops before it goes over.

### Good to know

- Prices and stock are for US delivery. A page served for another country is reported as `blocked`, never as dead.
- A product is `not_found` only after two real 404 responses on different IPs.
- A short run summary (requests, retries, status counts) is saved in the key-value store as `RUN_SUMMARY`.
- This Actor reads public product pages only. You are responsible for using the data in line with Amazon's terms and the law where you live.
