## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Totaljobs Scraper

Fetches public Totaljobs search listings for your `keyword` and `location`. By default it also visits each job URL and reads the site's structured JobPosting description. It writes only source-derived live records, never generated job examples.

### Input

See `input.json`. Set `maxItems` between 1 and 1000. `includeDetails` defaults to true; set it to false to collect listing cards only. `proxyEnabled` controls an authorized Apify Proxy route. Missing source fields are not invented.

Legacy `jobType`, `experienceLevel`, `datePosted`, `remoteOnly` and non-default `sortBy` filters are not implemented and are rejected rather than silently ignored. `includeSalary` controls whether a source salary is retained.

### Output

Records contain the public job title, employer, location, available salary, employment type, posting date, application URL, description, source portal, country and retrieval time. `extractionStatus` distinguishes complete detail records from listing-only or failed-detail records; `detailSourceUrl` identifies the page that supplied a description. Requirements and benefits remain empty when no separate structured values were found.

Open the run's Output tab for the Job Listings view, or export the dataset through the Apify API. The key-value store's RUN_SUMMARY records counts and missing descriptions.

### Errors and access

No results or missing requested descriptions make a run fail. Partial records remain available for diagnosis. The Actor detects access challenges and reports them; it does not solve CAPTCHAs. Public site changes, blocked requests or omitted source fields can limit extraction. Comply with the source's terms and privacy requirements.

### Pricing and support

Result pricing is $0.00249 per dataset item plus platform usage; check the current Console pricing before running. Send the run ID, non-sensitive input and log to the Actor owner for support.

# Actor input Schema

## `keyword` (type: `string`):

Job title or keywords to search for.

## `location` (type: `string`):

City, state, or region to search in.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Country code or name.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of job listings to scrape.

## `proxyEnabled` (type: `boolean`):

Use an authorized proxy route for regional access or connection reliability; it does not bypass access controls.

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Sort order for results. This legacy field is currently not applied; non-default values are rejected rather than silently ignored.

## `jobType` (type: `string`):

Filter by employment type (full-time, part-time, contract, etc.). This legacy field is currently not applied; non-default values are rejected rather than silently ignored.

## `experienceLevel` (type: `string`):

Filter by seniority (entry, mid, senior, etc.). This legacy field is currently not applied; non-default values are rejected rather than silently ignored.

## `datePosted` (type: `string`):

Filter by posting recency. This legacy field is currently not applied; non-default values are rejected rather than silently ignored.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Only return remote/work-from-home positions. This legacy field is currently not applied; non-default values are rejected rather than silently ignored.

## `includeCompanyDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Extract additional company information when available.

## `includeSalary` (type: `boolean`):

Extract salary/compensation details when available.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Visit each public job page for structured JobPosting details. Partial detail extraction makes the run fail instead of presenting incomplete output as fully successful.
