## Pricing

Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## UK Government Jobs Scraper – Work Hub (Find a Job)

Extract job listings from the UK government's official job board, **Work Hub** ([jobs.service.gov.uk](https://www.jobs.service.gov.uk)), which replaced Find a Job (findajob.dwp.gov.uk). Get job title, employer, location, salary (with min / max / period), contract type, working pattern, hours, Disability Confident flag, posting and closing dates, the full job description and the apply link.

Search by keyword and location, narrow it down with the site's own filters, or paste any Work Hub search URL. Results can be downloaded as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or pulled through the Apify API.

**Powered by [Scrape.do](https://scrape.do/?utm_source=apify\&utm_medium=actor\&utm_campaign=gov-uk-jobs-scraper)** – every request goes through the Scrape.do web scraping API, so you don't manage proxies, retries or blocks.

**Free to try:** run it without any setup and get up to 50 jobs per run. Add your free Scrape.do API token to get every job.

### What you can do with it

- Track UK hiring by role, region, salary band or employer
- Build job alerts and job aggregator feeds from official government data
- Analyse salaries and demand for skills (use *Must include words*, for example `python sql`)
- Monitor public-sector recruiters, apprenticeships and Disability Confident employers

### How to use

**Option 1 – use the filters.** Leave the URL list empty and fill in keywords, location, distance, working pattern, contract type, hours, salary range, posting date and sort order. Several values in one filter (for example Remote and Hybrid) are combined, so you get jobs matching any of them.

**Option 2 – paste URLs.** Open Work Hub, set up your search with the site's filters, copy the URL from the address bar (for example `https://www.jobs.service.gov.uk/jobs/search?keywords=nurse&location=Leeds`) and add it to **Job board URLs**. You can also add single job pages. Old Find a Job links (`findajob.dwp.gov.uk/search?q=...&w=...`) are converted automatically.

Set **Maximum jobs** (0 = no limit). Each result page holds 30 jobs, and there is no page limit, so the whole board (over 100,000 jobs) can be collected in one run.

### Pricing and your Scrape.do token

There is no per-result fee for this actor; Apify only bills its normal platform usage, which is a fraction of a cent for a typical run. Pages are fetched through the Scrape.do web scraping API:

1. **Free trial, no token** – leave the **Scrape.do API token** field empty and you get up to 50 jobs per run (search result data, without full descriptions). Good for checking the data before you sign up.
2. **Your own Scrape.do token** – no job limit and full details available. Requests use your Scrape.do credits: about 1 credit per result page (30 jobs), plus 1 credit per job when you turn on full details. [Create a free Scrape.do account](https://scrape.do/?utm_source=apify\&utm_medium=actor\&utm_campaign=gov-uk-jobs-scraper) to get a token.

### Tips

- **Cheap and fast:** leave *Include full job details* off when the search result data is enough. The summary, salary, contract type, working pattern and date are already in the results.
- **Large crawls:** the board changes while you scrape, so on very large searches a few jobs may be missed or repeated across runs. Repeats inside a run are removed. Sorting by *Most recent* with a *Posted within* filter is the best way to collect only new jobs every day.
- **Speed:** raise **Parallel requests** if your Scrape.do plan allows more concurrency.
- **Residential proxies** are not needed for Work Hub today; the option is there if that changes.

### FAQ

**Is scraping Work Hub legal?** The actor collects publicly available job listings. Job ads can contain names and contact details of people; you are responsible for using the data in line with the site's terms and applicable law, including UK GDPR.

**Is this the same as Find a Job?** Work Hub is the government's new job board that replaced Find a Job. Old Find a Job search links still work in this actor and are converted to the new site.

**Something broke or a field is missing?** Open an issue in the Issues tab and we will look at it.

# Actor input Schema

## `scrapeDoToken` (type: `string`):

Optional. Without a token you get a free trial of up to 50 jobs per run. Add your own Scrape.do token for unlimited jobs; requests then use your Scrape.do credits (about 1 credit per 30 jobs). Get a free token at https://scrape.do/?utm_source=apify\&utm_medium=actor\&utm_campaign=gov-uk-jobs-scraper

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional. Search result pages from https://www.jobs.service.gov.uk/jobs/search (with your filters applied) and/or single job pages. Old findajob.dwp.gov.uk search links are converted automatically. When you add URLs, the search filters below are ignored.

## `keywords` (type: `string`):

Job title or skill to search for, for example data analyst. Leave empty to search all jobs.

## `location` (type: `string`):

Town, city or postcode, for example London or SW1A 1AA. Leave empty to search the whole UK.

## `distanceMiles` (type: `string`):

How far around the location to search. Only used when a location is set.

Only jobs that contain all of these words, for example python sql.
