## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SearchPeopleFree Scraper

Scrape public people-search profiles from [SearchPeopleFree.com](https://www.searchpeoplefree.com): full name, **exact age**, current and past addresses, **every phone number and email**, aliases, **spouse** and relatives. Search by **name** (optionally in one state) or paste **profile and search URLs** from the site.

**Free to try:** run it without any setup and get up to 10 profiles per run. Add your free Scrape.do API token to remove the limit.

### Why most SearchPeopleFree scrapers fail

SearchPeopleFree shows more for free than most people-search sites, and stacks more defenses in front of it:

1. **US-only geoblock.** Requests from outside the United States, datacenter IPs and most VPNs are dropped before the page loads.
2. **Cloudflare and DataDome together.** Cloudflare checks TLS fingerprints and serves JavaScript challenges; DataDome sits behind it and scores every request again. A plain HTTP client gets "Attention Required! | Cloudflare" (HTTP 403).
3. **Obfuscated emails.** Emails in the visible HTML are encoded with Cloudflare's `data-cfemail` cipher and decoded by JavaScript in the browser.

This actor fetches every page through the [Scrape.do](https://scrape.do/?utm_source=apify\&utm_medium=actor\&utm_campaign=searchpeoplefree-scraper) web scraping API with a US residential IP, so you don't manage proxies, headers or browsers. It then reads the structured data block (JSON-LD) the site publishes for search engines, where emails are plain text and a profile can list dozens of phones, emails, addresses and relatives (one test profile: 37 phones, 30 emails, 27 past addresses).

### What data you get

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `name` | Full name |
| `age` | Exact age in years |
| `address`, `city`, `state`, `zipCode` | Current address |
| `phones`, `primaryPhone` | Every phone number on the profile, and the first one |
| `emails`, `primaryEmail` | Every email on the profile, and the first one |
| `spouse` | Spouse, when listed |
| `relatives` | Relatives and associates |
| `aliases` | Other names the person is known by |
| `pastAddresses` | Previous addresses, `street, city, ST ZIP` |
| `profileUrl` | The SearchPeopleFree profile |
| `searchQuery` | The name search that found this profile (empty for URLs you pasted) |
| `scrapedAt` | When the profile was scraped |

### How to use it

1. **Search by name:** add one or more names under **Names to search** and, optionally, a two-letter **State** (for example `TX`). Every person on the result pages is scraped; each page has about 10 people.
2. **URLs:** paste profile URLs (`searchpeoplefree.com/find/<name>/<id>`) or name search URLs (`searchpeoplefree.com/find/john-smith/tx`) under **SearchPeopleFree URLs**.

You can mix both in one run. A person found twice is saved once.

#### Input example

```json
{
    "names": ["John Smith", "Mary Johnson"],
    "state": "TX",
    "maxItems": 100,
    "maxPagesPerSearch": 3,
    "scrapeDoToken": "YOUR_SCRAPEDO_TOKEN"
}
```

#### Output example

Each profile is one item. Example (fictional person, illustrative values):

```json
{
    "name": "Jane Doe",
    "age": 41,
    "address": "2912 Northern Ave",
    "city": "Washington",
    "state": "DC",
    "zipCode": "20001",
    "phones": ["(202) 555-0147", "(202) 555-0199"],
    "emails": ["janedoe@example.com", "jane.m.doe@example.org"],
    "spouse": ["John Doe"],
    "relatives": ["Mary Doe", "Robert Smith", "Emily Doe"],
    "aliases": ["Jane M Doe"],
    "pastAddresses": ["44 Elm St, Arlington, VA 22201"],
    "primaryPhone": "(202) 555-0147",
    "primaryEmail": "janedoe@example.com",
    "profileUrl": "https://www.searchpeoplefree.com/find/jane-doe/...",
    "searchQuery": "Jane Doe, DC",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-11-09T09:00:00.000Z"
}
```

Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML from the run's **Output** tab, or pull them through the Apify API.

### Pricing and your Scrape.do token

There is no per-result fee for this actor; Apify only bills its normal platform usage, which is a fraction of a cent for a typical run. Pages are fetched through the Scrape.do web scraping API:

1. **Free trial, no token:** leave the **Scrape.do API token** field empty and you get up to 10 profiles per run. Good for checking the data before you sign up.
2. **Your own Scrape.do token:** no profile limit. Every page (one profile, or one search results page) goes through a US residential IP, which is 10 Scrape.do credits. A name search with 3 profiles costs 40 credits. [Create a free Scrape.do account](https://scrape.do/?utm_source=apify\&utm_medium=actor\&utm_campaign=searchpeoplefree-scraper) for 1,000 free credits a month.

### Tips

- **Narrow name searches** with a state. Common names return many result pages; **Result pages per search** caps how many are read.
- **Speed:** raise **Parallel requests** if your Scrape.do plan allows more concurrency.
- **Blocked pages are retried automatically** with a new IP. If a profile still fails, it is listed in the log and the run continues.
- **Prefer Python?** The same logic is an open-source package: `pip install searchpeoplefree-scraper` ([GitHub](https://github.com/bugrahansss/searchpeoplefree-scraper)). The step-by-step guide is on the [Scrape.do blog](https://scrape.do/blog/search-people-free-scraping/?utm_source=apify\&utm_medium=actor\&utm_campaign=searchpeoplefree-scraper).

### FAQ

**Is scraping SearchPeopleFree legal?** The actor collects data the site shows publicly, but it is personal data about real people. SearchPeopleFree is not a consumer reporting agency, so this data must not be used for decisions about employment, tenant screening, credit or insurance, which the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) regulates in the US. You are responsible for using it in line with the site's terms and the privacy laws that apply to you (for example CCPA and GDPR), and for honoring opt-out requests. This is not legal advice.

# Actor input Schema

## `names` (type: `array`):

Full names to look up, one per line (for example "John Smith"). Every person on the result pages is scraped.

## `state` (type: `string`):

Optional two-letter US state code applied to every name search (for example "TX"). Leave empty to search the whole US.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Profile URLs (searchpeoplefree.com/find/<name>/<id>) or name search URLs copied from the site (searchpeoplefree.com/find/john-smith/tx).

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many profiles in total. Set 0 for no limit. Without your own Scrape.do token the free trial returns up to 10 profiles per run.

## `maxPagesPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

How many result pages to read for each name search (about 10 profiles per page).

## `scrapeDoToken` (type: `string`):

Optional. Find it in your Scrape.do dashboard. Leave empty for the free trial (up to 10 profiles per run).

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many profiles are fetched at the same time when you use your own token. Keep it at or below your Scrape.do plan's concurrency.
