## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Telegram Channel Scraper

Scrape posts from any **public Telegram channel** without an account, phone number or API key.
Give it channel names or `t.me` links and get back clean JSON: text, date, views, author,
forwarded-from, reply target, links, media count, plus the channel title and subscriber count on
every row. Filter by keyword or date and pay only for the posts you keep.

### Use cases

- Monitor crypto, trading, news or deal channels and pipe posts into your own alerts
- Build datasets of channel history for research or AI training
- Track competitors' announcement channels
- Feed an AI agent via the Apify MCP server (this Actor works as a tool call)

### Input

| Field | Meaning | Default |
|---|---|---|
| `channels` | usernames or `https://t.me/...` links | required |
| `maxPostsPerChannel` | newest-first cap per channel | 100 |
| `sinceDate` | skip posts older than `YYYY-MM-DD` | none |
| `keyword` | keep only posts containing this text | none |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Apify proxy on by default | on |

### Output (one row per post)

```json
{
  "channel": "durov",
  "channel_title": "Du Rove's Channel",
  "subscribers": 1234567,
  "message_id": 420,
  "url": "https://t.me/durov/420",
  "date": "2026-10-16T18:02:11+00:00",
  "text": "…",
  "views": 2500000,
  "author": null,
  "forwarded_from": null,
  "reply_to_url": null,
  "links": ["https://..."],
  "media_count": 1
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event. `post`: $0.002 per post returned ($2 per 1,000). Posts removed by your keyword
or date filter are never charged. Plus the standard Actor start event.

### Limits

Only public channels with a web preview are supported (private channels and groups need the
Telegram API). Posts are fetched 20 per page from newest to oldest.

### Issues

Open an issue on the Actor page; typical response is under 6 hours.

# Actor input Schema

## `channels` (type: `array`):

Public channel usernames or t.me links, e.g. durov or https://t.me/telegram

## `maxPostsPerChannel` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many posts per channel (newest first). 20 posts per page are fetched.

## `sinceDate` (type: `string`):

Skip posts older than this date. Leave empty for no limit.

## `keyword` (type: `string`):

Keep only posts whose text contains this (case-insensitive). You are not charged for filtered-out posts.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Telegram previews rarely block, but a proxy helps at volume.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "channels": [
    "telegram",
    "durov"
  ],
  "maxPostsPerChannel": 100,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```
