## Pricing

Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Reviews Scraper: Google Play + Apple App Store

Scrape app reviews from **Google Play** and the **Apple App Store** in one run, in one clean, unified format. Add a list of apps, pick countries, filter by stars or date, and export to JSON, CSV, Excel or straight into your tools.

### What you can do with it

- **Monitor complaints**: schedule a daily run with `maxRating: 2` and `sinceDate` to catch new 1–2 star reviews.
- **Compare competitors**: pull reviews for your app and rival apps on both stores side by side.
- **Feed AI analysis**: get clean review text ready for sentiment analysis, topic clustering or LLM summaries.
- **Track releases**: every review includes the app version, so you can see how a release landed.

### Features

- ✅ Google Play **and** App Store in a single Actor, one output schema
- ✅ Accepts URLs, package names, App Store IDs or bundle IDs
- ✅ Multi-country: each storefront is fetched and de-duplicated
- ✅ Filters: star range, "only reviews since" date, sort order
- ✅ Developer replies (Google Play), helpful votes, app version
- ✅ Optional app details on every row (title, developer, overall rating)
- ✅ Fast and efficient: plain HTTP, no browser
- ✅ Automatic retries with backoff; a failing app never kills the run

### Input example

```json
{
  "playStoreApps": ["https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music"],
  "appStoreApps": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580"],
  "countries": ["us", "gb"],
  "maxReviewsPerApp": 500,
  "maxRating": 2,
  "sinceDate": "2026-09-01"
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
  "platform": "googlePlay",
  "appId": "com.spotify.music",
  "appTitle": "Spotify: Music and Podcasts",
  "appDeveloper": "Spotify AB",
  "appRating": 4.35,
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en",
  "reviewId": "6949b2c8-3b1a-4b40-9479-fee99283cd14",
  "userName": "J. P.",
  "rating": 1,
  "title": null,
  "text": "I go to listen to a podcast…",
  "date": "2026-10-02T15:19:05.151Z",
  "appVersion": "9.1.88.2204",
  "thumbsUp": 0,
  "replyText": "Hi there! We're open to feedback…",
  "replyDate": "2026-10-02T16:01:12.000Z",
  "reviewUrl": "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music&reviewId=…",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-03T14:00:00.000Z"
}
```

Fields that a store doesn't provide are `null` (App Store: `thumbsUp`, `replyText`, `language`; Google Play: usually `title`).

### Pricing

You pay per review saved to the dataset. Set a maximum cost per run in the Apify Console and the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached.

### Limits to know

- **App Store**: Apple's public review feed exposes up to **500 most recent (or most helpful) reviews per country**. To collect more, add more countries.
- **Google Play**: reviews are largely shared across countries for the same language; use `language` to get reviews in other languages. Deep history (tens of thousands of reviews) is available.
- "By rating" sort applies to Google Play only.

### FAQ

**Do I need a proxy?** Usually not. Enable Apify Proxy if you scrape hundreds of apps per run and see rate-limit warnings.

**Can I run it on a schedule?** Yes. Use Apify Schedules with `sort: newest` and `sinceDate` to fetch only new reviews.

**Is this legal?** The Actor collects publicly available reviews. You are responsible for how you use the data, including personal data rules (GDPR) for reviewer names.

# Actor input Schema

## `playStoreApps` (type: `array`):

Play Store URLs (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music) or package names (com.spotify.music).

## `appStoreApps` (type: `array`):

App Store URLs (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580), numeric IDs (324684580) or bundle IDs (com.spotify.client).

## `maxReviewsPerApp` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many reviews per app (after rating filters). Apple's feed exposes up to 500 reviews per country, so add more countries to get more App Store reviews.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Newest first works with the 'Only reviews since' filter. 'By rating' applies to Google Play only (App Store falls back to most helpful).

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter country codes (us, fr, gb, de...). Each country is a separate storefront with its own reviews.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter language code for Google Play reviews (en, fr, de...).

## `minRating` (type: `integer`):

Keep only reviews with at least this many stars. Set max to 2 to collect complaints only.

## `maxRating` (type: `integer`):

Keep only reviews with at most this many stars.

## `sinceDate` (type: `string`):

Stop when reviews get older than this date (YYYY-MM-DD). Requires 'Newest first' sort. Ideal for scheduled monitoring runs.

## `includeAppDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Adds app title, developer, overall rating and ratings count to every row.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Usually not needed. Enable if you scrape many apps and hit rate limits.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "playStoreApps": [
    "com.spotify.music"
  ],
  "appStoreApps": [
    "https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580"
  ],
  "maxReviewsPerApp": 100,
  "sort": "newest",
  "countries": [
    "us"
  ],
  "language": "en",
  "minRating": 1,
  "maxRating": 5,
  "includeAppDetails": true,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `reviews` (type: `string`):

All scraped reviews (rating, text, date, app version, developer reply, app details).

## `runSummary` (type: `string`):

Total reviews scraped and any apps that failed.
