## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Google SERP Scraper

Scrape **Google organic search results** for any list of queries — no login, no cookies, no
browser. For every query you get the ranked list of organic results with title, URL, displayed
URL, description snippet and domain.

Runs on a plain HTTP client (`got-scraping`) through **Apify's Google SERP proxy**, so it's fast
and cheap — no Chromium.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `queries` | One Google search per line, exactly as you'd type it (e.g. `personal injury lawyer chicago`). Each query is scraped independently. |
| `resultsPerQuery` | How many organic results to return per query (default 10). The scraper paginates as needed. |
| `countryCode` | Two-letter country Google localises to — the `gl` param (default `us`). |
| `languageCode` | Results language — the `hl` param (default `en`). |
| `maxConcurrency` | How many queries to scrape in parallel (default 3). |

Example:

```json
{
  "queries": [
    "personal injury lawyer chicago",
    "best crm for startups",
    "plumber near me denver"
  ],
  "resultsPerQuery": 10,
  "countryCode": "us",
  "languageCode": "en"
}
```

### Output

One row per organic result:

```json
{
  "searchQuery": "personal injury lawyer chicago",
  "position": 1,
  "title": "Chicago Personal Injury Lawyers | $750M+ Recovered",
  "url": "https://www.malmanlaw.com/",
  "displayedUrl": "https://www.malmanlaw.com",
  "description": "Free consultations 24hrs A Day — An Experienced Chicago Personal Injury Lawyer at Malman Law…",
  "domain": "malmanlaw.com",
  "resultType": "organic",
  "countryCode": "us",
  "languageCode": "en",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-07-30T00:00:00.000Z"
}
```

Results are deduplicated by URL within each query, and re-ranked to a contiguous `position`
(1..N) after dedupe. You're charged only for the organic rows actually delivered.

### What it does **not** return

Only **organic** results. Ads, the Map/local pack, "People also ask", knowledge panels and
featured-snippet cards are intentionally skipped — those are different surfaces and would mix
non-comparable rows into your list. One site + one function.

### Notes on reliability

- The Google SERP proxy is a reverse-proxy that returns Google's fully rendered results HTML.
  The scraper retries with a fresh proxy session on the occasional stub/timeout.
- Deep pagination (beyond ~30 results) gets progressively less reliable, as Google itself serves
  fewer useful organic results per query. Keep `resultsPerQuery` reasonable for best fill.

### Legality

This returns publicly visible Google search results. Scraping Google is against Google's Terms of
Service regardless of technical access — whether to run it is your call. Any personal data that
appears in results is your responsibility to handle lawfully (GDPR/CCPA etc.).

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

One Google search per line, exactly as you'd type it into Google — e.g. 'personal injury lawyer chicago', 'best crm for startups'. Each query is scraped independently.

## `resultsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

How many organic results to return for each query. Google serves ~10 per page; the scraper paginates as needed. Higher counts cost more and get less reliable past ~30.

## `countryCode` (type: `string`):

Two-letter country code Google localises results to (the 'gl' parameter) — e.g. 'us', 'gb', 'de', 'au'.

## `languageCode` (type: `string`):

Interface/results language (the 'hl' parameter) — e.g. 'en', 'es', 'fr', 'de'.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many queries to scrape in parallel. Keep modest.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "queries": [
    "personal injury lawyer chicago"
  ],
  "resultsPerQuery": 10,
  "countryCode": "us",
  "languageCode": "en",
  "maxConcurrency": 3
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Query, rank position, title, result URL, displayed URL, description snippet and domain for each organic result.
