## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## LOOKFANTASTIC UK Scraper API: Product Prices and RRP

Curated brand pages are not treated as a complete catalogue. When an official search opens one, the actor follows its actual matching full-range link, then verifies and paginates that primary product list. Missing full-range links are reported as a source-contract error, not an empty search or a complete brand export.

Collect genuine LOOKFANTASTIC UK product IDs, names, current GBP prices, labelled recommended retail prices and product images. Export JSON, CSV or Excel, or use the Apify API for beauty catalogue and price comparisons.

```json
{"term": "shampoo", "maxItems": 3}
```

Prices belong to the public default product listing, not necessarily every size, bundle option or personal offer. `price_is_from` preserves an explicit from-price label. `rrp` is only returned when the source explicitly labels the reference as Recommended Retail Price; it is not a historical sale price. Coupon messages are not automatically deducted. `price_text` preserves the source price wording. No store/postcode stock, personal account prices or delivery promises are invented.

Official searches can redirect to a matching source category. Pagination follows the real next link on that category and verifies the page number. `searchTerms` replaces `term`; `maxItems` and deduplication are shared, while `maxPages` applies per search. Without those values there are no hidden fixed product or page limits. The default runtime budget is 240 seconds, adjustable to 7200, and the Apify spending limit still applies.

Results arrive progressively. Automatic proxies and access recovery need no customer cookies or technical settings. Source blocks are not treated as empty results, and earlier products remain when a later page fails. See `RUN_SUMMARY` and `DIAGNOSTICS`.

USD 0.004 per genuine unique delivered result plus customer-paid Apify platform consumption. No charges for duplicates, errors or summaries. Private until explicit publication approval; commercial pricing is only activated and checked at release. Independent tool, not affiliated with LOOKFANTASTIC. Respect source terms and applicable law.

# Actor input Schema

## `term` (type: `string`):

Product, beauty category or brand to search in the UK LOOKFANTASTIC shop.

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Replaces the single term; products are deduplicated together.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Global limit. Without a value, no hidden fixed result limit.

## `maxPages` (type: `integer`):

Per search. Without a value, continue to the source end or time and spending budget.

## `maxRuntimeSecs` (type: `integer`):

Earlier results remain available if a later page fails.

## `requestTimeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Maximum time to wait for a source request.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "term": "shampoo"
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("scraperseurope/lookfantastic-uk").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
