## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Superdrug UK Scraper API: Product and Member Prices

Collect genuine Superdrug UK products with ordinary GBP prices, separately labelled member prices, product codes, images and source links. Export JSON, CSV or Excel or use the Apify API for beauty, toiletries and pharmacy catalogue comparisons.

```json
{"term": "shampoo", "maxItems": 3}
```

The actor reads the primary server-rendered search grid, verifies the search term and selected page, and follows the actual next link. Only primary product cards count, not empty-search recommendations. Native fuzzy matching can return real products for unusual terms; these are not falsely reported as empty. Public search URLs with the native price-range filter are also supported.

`price` is the ordinary current full product price, not a member-only offer, per-unit amount, previous price or payment instalment. `member_price` and its source wording are separate conditional offers, not discounts available to everyone. No stock is inferred from CSS classes or purchase buttons. Product codes are not invented EANs. Unknown fields stay empty. No medical advice, customer records, personal eligibility, account prices or delivery guarantees are provided.

`searchTerms` replaces `term`; `maxItems` and deduplication are global and `maxPages` applies per search. Without these values there are no hidden fixed result or page limits. Default runtime budget 240 seconds, adjustable to 7200; Apify spending limits still apply. Progressive output and automatic proxies need no customer cookies or technical setup. Earlier results remain if a later page fails; blocks are not empty searches. Inspect `RUN_SUMMARY` and `DIAGNOSTICS`.

USD 0.004 per genuine unique delivered result plus customer-paid Apify platform consumption. No charges for duplicates, errors or summaries. Private until explicit approval; commercial pricing is activated and checked only at publication. Independent tool, not affiliated with Superdrug. Respect source terms and applicable law.

# Actor input Schema

## `term` (type: `string`):

Product, brand or category in Superdrug UK, or a public Superdrug search URL with its native price filter.

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Replaces the single term; products are deduplicated together.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Global limit. Without a value, no hidden fixed result limit.

## `maxPages` (type: `integer`):

Per search. Without a value, continue to the source end or time and spending budget.

## `maxRuntimeSecs` (type: `integer`):

Earlier results remain available if a later page fails.

## `requestTimeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Maximum time to wait for a source request.
