## ORCID Scraper - Researcher Profiles & iDs

Search **ORCID** - the registry of **20M+ researcher identities** - or resolve **ORCID iDs** to public
profiles: **name**, **other names**, **institutions**, **country**, **biography**, **keywords**,
**researcher URLs**, **external IDs** and **public email** where the researcher has shared it. For
academic lead-gen, recruiting and research-network mapping. No key, no browser.

- **Search queries** - plain text or field syntax: `family-name:Smith`, `affiliation-org-name:MIT`,
  `keyword:genomics`. **ORCID iDs** - exact lookups (always full profile).
- **Full profile for search results** - also fetch each researcher's biography/keywords/URLs/country
  (one extra request each; off by default for fast name/institution results).
- **Import from a file** (queries and iDs auto-detected) and **Output fields** work as on our other actors.

Leave everything empty and the run returns a small free sample so you can see the shape first.

### Reliability

Reads the public [ORCID API](https://info.orcid.org/documentation/features/public-api/) - keyless, no
anti-bot, paginated. A search that returns nothing bills **$0**.

### Honest limits

- **Only public data.** ORCID profiles are researcher-controlled; email, biography and even names are shown
  only when the researcher set them public - many leave fields private, so a null is the researcher's
  privacy choice, not a scraping gap.
- **Search results carry names + institutions**; biography/keywords/URLs/country fill on an iD lookup or
  when **Full profile** is on.
- **This is identity/profile data, not publications** - for a researcher's papers use our Crossref,
  OpenAlex or PubMed scrapers with their ORCID iD.

actually saved are billed; an empty search costs nothing.

## `fullProfile` (type: `boolean`):

For SEARCH results, also fetch each researcher's full record (biography, keywords, URLs, country, external IDs). One extra request per researcher - leave off for faster, cheaper name/institution results.

## `searchQueriesFromFile` (type: `string`):

Bulk-load search queries or ORCID iDs (auto-detected). Either <b>paste the whole list</b> (one per line), or give <b>a single link</b> to a public <code>.txt</code>/<code>.csv</code>, a Google Sheet/Drive link, or an Apify key-value-store record. A file that cannot be read says so and charges nothing.

## `maxItemsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

How many researchers to collect for each search query.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Overall cap across all queries and iDs. You are only charged for researchers actually saved.

## `outputFields` (type: `array`):
