## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## ALDI Australia Scraper

Scrape **ALDI Australia** (aldi.com.au) products as clean JSON: **search results, whole categories** (including Lower Prices, Super Savers and Limited Time Only), **Special Buys drops** with their themes, or **product pages**. Every product comes with price, was-price, **unit price**, size, bottle deposit, the Special Buy on-sale date, badges, availability, image and categories; product pages add the description, **ingredients, allergens, claims**, storage, usage, warnings and all images. Prices are ALDI's in-store prices in AUD (ALDI Australia does not sell groceries online).

### Features

- **Search mode** - products matching each search term (`queries`).
- **Category mode** - every product of each category (`categories`: category link or key).
- **Specials mode** - the products of each Special Buys drop (`specialBuys`: drop date or link; the current drop when empty), optionally one `theme`. The `LISTINGS` record lists every announced drop with its themes.
- **Product mode** - one product page per input (`products`: product link or SKU) with ingredients, allergens and images.
- **Up to 2000 products per listing** - pages are followed automatically.
- **Many inputs per run** - search terms, categories or products in parallel.

### Use cases

- **Price comparison** - ALDI prices next to Woolworths and Coles (see our Woolworths and Coles scrapers).
- **Special Buys tracking** - every drop, its themes and products.
- **Ingredient and allergen databases** - ingredients, allergens and claims.
- **Retail analytics** - assortment and pricing by category.

The key-value store also holds:

- `LISTINGS` - per search term, category or specials listing: total results, pages fetched and products collected.
- `ERRORS` - inputs that returned no products (no match, unknown product or category, blocked) with the reason. These are **not billed**.

### Pricing

**$0.90 per 1000 products.** You pay only for products delivered; inputs without products are not charged.

### Notes

- ALDI shows 60 products per page; a listing returns at most `maxResults` products, sometimes a few less when pages repeat products.
- Prices are in-store prices; `soldOnline` tells which products can be bought online (mostly Special Buys).
- This actor is not affiliated with ALDI Australia.
