## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Scraper

Scrape the **Apple App Store** as clean structured JSON - **full app details** for a list of apps, or the **apps ranked for a search term**. Any App Store country and listing language. No Apple developer account, no API key, no proxies to configure.

### Features

- **Full app details** - title, subtitle, developer (id, URL, website), seller, price and currency, rating and ratings count (all versions and the current version), the **1-5 star histogram**, age rating, category and genres, size, minimum iOS version, supported languages and devices, release and update dates, current version and release notes.
- **What the product page adds** - the **in-app purchase list with prices**, **privacy labels** (data used to track you, data linked to you), **version history**, **chart rank** (position in its category's top chart), screenshots (iPhone and iPad), app preview videos, **similar apps** and **more by the developer**.
- **App search** - up to 200 apps per search term in App Store order, with their **position** - the data you need for ASO keyword tracking.
- **Any input form** - numeric id (`310633997`), `id310633997`, an apps.apple.com URL, or a bundle id (`net.whatsapp.WhatsApp`).
- **Any country and language** - prices, ratings, chart ranks and search results are per country; `lang` picks the listing language for multi-language stores (Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, ...).
- **Many apps and search terms in one run**, fetched in parallel; the same app given twice is fetched and billed once.

### Use cases

- **App monitoring** - track rating, ratings count, histogram, version and chart rank of your app over time.
- **ASO (App Store Optimization)** - see which apps rank for a keyword in each country, with their titles, subtitles and ratings.
- **Competitor tracking** - watch rivals' prices, in-app purchase offers, update cadence and privacy labels.
- **Market research** - collect apps for a category or keyword list across countries and compare developers, ratings and reach.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|-------|------|---------|-------------|
| `apps` | array | - | Apps to get full details for: ids, `id...`, apps.apple.com URLs or bundle ids. |
| `searchTerms` | array | - | Keywords to search; one item per app found. |
| `maxResults` | integer | `50` | Apps per search term (1-200). |
| `country` | string | - | App Store country (ISO-2, e.g. `us`, `gb`, `de`). Empty: the country in each app URL, otherwise `us`. |
| `lang` | string | - | Listing language, e.g. `fr` or `fr-CA`. Empty: the store's own language. |

With neither `apps` nor `searchTerms`, the run fetches two example apps (Spotify and WhatsApp).

```
Apps that do not exist in the chosen country and search terms with no results are listed in the `ERRORS` record of the key-value store and are **not billed**.
### Pricing
**$1 per 1000 apps** - one app detail record or one search result is one app. You pay only for apps delivered; failed inputs are not charged.
### Notes
- Ratings, reviews counts, prices and chart ranks differ by country - set `country` to the store you care about.
- For customer reviews of an app, use the companion **App Store Reviews Scraper**.
# Actor input Schema
## `apps` (type: `array`):
Apps to get full details for. Each entry is a numeric App Store id (310633997), 'id310633997', an apps.apple.com app URL or a bundle id (net.whatsapp.WhatsApp). One dataset item per app.
## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):
Keywords to search the App Store for, e.g. 'vpn' or 'photo editor'. One dataset item per app found, with its position in the results. Use this instead of or together with Apps.
## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):
How many apps to return for each search term (1-200), in App Store order.
## `country` (type: `string`):
App Store country (ISO-2), e.g. 'us', 'gb', 'de', 'jp'. Prices, ratings, chart ranks and search results are per country. Leave empty to use the country in each app URL, otherwise the United States.
## `lang` (type: `string`):
Listing language, e.g. 'en', 'fr' or 'fr-CA', for stores with several languages (Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, ...). Leave empty for the store's own language.
## `errors` (type: `string`):
Apps not found in the chosen country and search terms with no results, with the reason (not billed)
