## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Contact Details Scraper (Emails, Phones, Socials)

Give it a list of company websites or domains and get back, for each website, the **emails, phone numbers and social media profiles the company publishes on its own site**: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, GitHub, WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Threads, Snapchat, Reddit and more. One clean, de-duplicated row per website.

Websites behind **Cloudflare, DataDome, PerimeterX, Akamai** and other bot protection work too: every page is loaded through an unblocking browser and proxy layer, so you do not need proxies, a browser or retries of your own.

### Features

- **Websites or bare domains** - `https://www.example.com`, `example.com`, a deep link, or a text file of URLs. Inputs of the same website are read once.
- **Smart page selection** - reads the start page, then the pages that actually hold contact details: contact, imprint / Impressum, about, team, support, privacy and press pages, recognised in 20+ languages (Kontakt, Contacto, Contatti, Mentions légales, Über uns, お問い合わせ ...). No time and money spent on blog posts or product pages.
- **Emails** from `mailto:` links, visible text, structured data (JSON-LD / schema.org), Cloudflare-protected addresses and obfuscated forms like `name [at] company [dot] com`. Junk such as `logo@2x.png`, error-tracking keys and placeholder addresses is filtered out.
- **Phones** from `tel:` links, structured data and labelled numbers in the text, validated and normalized to international **E.164** format (the website's country is used for local formats). Fax numbers are skipped.
- **Social profiles** normalized and de-duplicated: share buttons, posts, videos and platform pages are filtered out, so you get the company's profile links.
- **One row per website**, with the source page of every email and phone.
- **Pay only for websites with contacts** - websites that publish nothing or cannot be loaded are not charged.

### Use cases

- **Lead generation** - turn a list of company domains into emails, phones and social profiles for outreach.
- **CRM enrichment** - fill in missing contact fields for accounts you already have.
- **Supplier and partner research** - collect contact points of many companies at once.
- **Local business data** - complete a list of business websites (for example from a maps search) with their contacts.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|-------|------|---------|-------------|
| `startUrls` | array | - | Websites as full URLs (`{"url": "https://..."}` objects, as in other Apify crawlers, or a text file link). |
| `domains` | array | - | Websites as bare domains or URLs, one per line (`example.com`). Use either list or both. |
| `maxRequestsPerStartUrl` | integer | `5` | Pages read per website (1-10), start page included. |
| `maxDepth` | integer | `1` | Clicks away from the start page: 0 = start page only, 1 = its contact-like links, 2 = also links from those pages. |
| `sameDomain` | boolean | `true` | Stay on the website (its subdomains included). |
| `proxyCountry` | string | - | Optional exit-IP country (ISO-2). Leave empty for the most reliable exit. |
| `maxConcurrency` | integer | `5` | Pages loaded at the same time (1-10). |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    { "url": "https://www.decathlon.fr" },
    { "url": "https://www.bolt.eu" }
  ],
  "domains": ["zalando.de", "telia.lt"],
  "maxRequestsPerStartUrl": 5
}
```

With neither list given, the actor reads two example websites.

### Output

One dataset item per website that publishes at least one contact detail:

```json
{
  "domain": "eff.org",
  "startUrl": "https://www.eff.org",
  "url": "https://www.eff.org/",
  "emails": ["info@eff.org", "press@eff.org", "membership@eff.org", "activist@eff.org", "hr@eff.org"],
  "phones": [
    { "raw": "+1-415-436-9333", "e164": "+14154369333" },
    { "raw": "+1-510-243-8020", "e164": "+15102438020" }
  ],
  "linkedIns": ["https://www.linkedin.com/company/EFF"],
  "facebooks": ["https://www.facebook.com/eff"],
  "instagrams": ["https://www.instagram.com/efforg"],
  "twitters": [],
  "youtubes": [],
  "tiktoks": ["https://www.tiktok.com/@efforg"],
  "pinterests": [],
  "githubs": [],
  "telegrams": [],
  "whatsapps": [],
  "discords": [],
  "threads": ["https://www.threads.net/@efforg"],
  "snapchats": [],
  "reddits": [],
  "otherSocials": ["https://bsky.app/profile/eff.org"],
  "emailDetails": [
    { "email": "info@eff.org", "sourceUrl": "https://www.eff.org/about/contact", "sameDomain": true }
  ],
  "phoneDetails": [
    { "raw": "+1-415-436-9333", "e164": "+14154369333", "sourceUrl": "https://www.eff.org/about/contact" }
  ],
  "pagesScanned": [
    "https://www.eff.org/",
    "https://www.eff.org/about/contact",
    "https://www.eff.org/press/contact",
    "https://www.eff.org/about",
    "https://www.eff.org/about/staff"
  ],
  "pagesFailed": [],
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-12T17:32:22+00:00"
}
```

- `emails` lists the website's own-domain addresses first; `emailDetails` gives each address with the page it was found on and whether it is on the website's domain.
- `phones` has the number as written (`raw`) and in E.164 (`e164`; `null` when a `tel:` link holds a number that cannot be validated). `phoneDetails` adds the source page.
- `pagesFailed` lists pages that could not be loaded (with the reason); the row still holds everything found on the other pages.

The key-value store also holds:

- `NO_CONTACTS` - websites that loaded but publish no email, phone or social profile on the pages read. **Not billed.**
- `ERRORS` - websites that could not be loaded (invalid domain, site down, blocked), with the reason. **Not billed.**

### Pricing

**$4 per 1000 websites with contact details.** One website is one result, however many pages are read (up to 10) and however many contacts it has. Websites without any contact details and websites that fail to load are not charged.

### Notes

- Only what the website itself publishes is returned: no third-party enrichment, no guessed addresses.
- Privacy policies often quote other organisations (data processors, the data protection authority), so from privacy pages only the website's own-domain emails are kept and phones are not read.
- Numbers written without a country code are read with the website's country (from its country domain or the country it states in its structured data, otherwise US format) and are kept only next to a phone label; numbers in international format are always read.
- Team pages can list staff emails and personal profiles; they are part of what the website publishes and are returned as such. Lower **Max pages per website** or **Max link depth** to stay on the main contact pages.
- If you set a maximum cost per run, the actor stops loading new websites once the limit is reached.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Websites to get contact details from, as full URLs (https://www.example.com). Each website is crawled from this page and returned as one row; several URLs of the same website are read once. Have bare domains (example.com)? Put them in Domains below.

## `domains` (type: `array`):

Websites as bare domains or URLs, one per line (example.com, www.example.de, https://example.fr/contact). Use this or Start URLs, or both.

## `maxRequestsPerStartUrl` (type: `integer`):

How many pages to read on each website (1-10), the start page included. The actor reads the start page, then the pages most likely to hold contact details: contact, imprint (Impressum), about, team, support, privacy and press pages, in any of 20+ languages.

## `maxDepth` (type: `integer`):

How many clicks away from the start page to look for contact pages. 0 reads only the start page, 1 (default) the contact-like pages it links to, 2 also the contact-like pages those link to (e.g. About > Team).

## `sameDomain` (type: `boolean`):

Only follow links on the same website (its subdomains included, e.g. about.example.com). Turn off to also follow contact-like links to other domains.

## `proxyCountry` (type: `string`):

Optional exit-IP country (ISO-2, e.g. US, DE) for sites that show different contacts per country. Leave empty: the exit is chosen per website automatically, which is the most reliable.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many pages to load at the same time (1-10).

  ],
  "maxRequestsPerStartUrl": 5,
  "maxDepth": 1,
  "sameDomain": true,
  "maxConcurrency": 5
}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
One item per website that publishes at least one email, phone or social profile
## `noContacts` (type: `string`):
Websites that loaded but publish no email, phone or social profile on the pages read (not billed)
## `errors` (type: `string`):
Websites that could not be loaded (invalid domain, site down, blocked), with the reason (not billed)
