## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Ads Transparency Scraper

Scrape the **Google Ads Transparency Center** as clean, structured JSON - every Google ad an **advertiser** runs, or every ad that points to a **website**, across Google Search, YouTube, Display, Shopping, Maps and Play. Each ad comes with its **format**, **first and last shown dates**, **days shown**, the **ad image** or preview, the **Google Ads ids** behind it and a link to its Transparency Center page. Optionally add **where and how much it ran** (countries, dates, EU impressions per platform, disclosed targeting) and **what the ad says** (headline and description of text ads, product of shopping ads, the YouTube video of video ads). No Google account or proxies to set up.

### Features

- **By advertiser or by website** - search an advertiser by name (`Nike`), by its Transparency Center id (`AR...`), or get every ad that links to a domain (`nike.com`).
- **Smart name matching** - a name resolves to the advertiser that best fits it (the brand, not a small namesake); the choice is in `advertisersUsed`. A brand that advertises under its company name falls back to its website.
- **Filters** - region (one or several countries), platform (Search, YouTube, Maps, Play, Shopping), format (text, image, video) and a shown-date window.
- **Lots of ads** - up to 1000 ads per advertiser or website, newest shown first.
- **Ad images** - the archived ad image with its size, or the preview link.
- **Google Ads ids** - `googleCreativeId`, `googleCustomerId` and `adGroupId` where Google exposes them.
- **Reach and targeting (optional)** - countries with first and last dates; for EU countries, impressions per platform, total EU reach and the targeting the advertiser disclosed.
- **Ad content (optional)** - headline, description and display URL of text ads, product title and merchant of shopping ads, the YouTube video of video ads, and every text shown in the ad.

### Use cases

- **Competitor ad research** - see every ad a competitor runs, where, since when and on which Google platform.
- **Creative inspiration** - collect ad copy, images and YouTube videos in your market.
- **Agency pitches and audits** - show a prospect's or a client's ad activity in minutes.
- **Brand protection** - find ads that point to your domain from other advertisers.
- **Ad intelligence datasets** - track new and stopped ads over time on a schedule.

`{KeyWord:...}` is the advertiser's own keyword-insertion template, as Google shows it. `payerName` is only filled when the payer is a company. Advertisers or websites that return no ads or cannot be read go to the `ERRORS` record in the run's key-value store, with the reason. They are not billed.

### Pricing

**$1 per 1000 ads** (pay per result) - one dataset item is one ad. Two optional extras are billed per ad only when you turn them on:

- `ad-details` - **$1 per 1000**, per ad that comes back with `details` (Include details).
- `ad-preview` - **$1 per 1000**, per ad whose `preview` comes back with the ad's text or its YouTube video (Include ad content).

Failed inputs are free.

### Notes

- Many Google Search text ads exist in the Transparency Center only as an image of the ad (`imageUrl`); for those the preview holds no text.
- Google publishes impressions for ads shown in the EU; for other countries `details` gives the countries and dates the ad ran.
- Google does not publish an ad's landing page, only the website it matched (`matchedDomain`).
- Ads come newest shown first.

# Actor input Schema

## `advertisers` (type: `array`):

Advertisers to pull ads for: a name (e.g. 'Nike' - matched to the best-fitting advertiser, shown in 'advertisersUsed') or an advertiser id from the Transparency Center (e.g. 'AR16735076323512287233'). Use these or 'Websites' below.

## `domains` (type: `array`):

Websites the ads point to, e.g. 'nike.com' - returns the ads of every advertiser that links to that site.

## `region` (type: `string`):

Where the ads were shown: a 2-letter country code ('US', 'DE'), several separated by commas, or empty for anywhere. The first region also decides which per-country reach 'Include details' returns.

## `platform` (type: `array`):

Only ads shown on these Google platforms. Empty = all.

## `format` (type: `string`):

Only ads of one format.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

Only ads shown on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD).

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

Only ads shown on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD).

## `maxResultsPerInput` (type: `integer`):

How many ads to collect for each advertiser or website (1-1000), newest shown first.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Add 'details' to every ad: the countries it was shown in with first and last dates (plus impressions per platform for EU countries), EU reach, the targeting the advertiser disclosed, and all ad variations. Billed as an extra 'ad-details' event per ad that comes back with details.

## `includePreview` (type: `boolean`):

Add 'preview' to ads that have a rendered preview: headline, description and display URL of text ads, product title and merchant of shopping ads, image URLs and the YouTube video of video ads. Billed as an extra 'ad-preview' event per ad that comes back with content. Many Search text ads exist only as an image ('imageUrl') and get no preview.

## `concurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many advertisers or websites to read at the same time (1-5).

  "includePreview": false,
  "concurrency": 2
}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
One item per ad with format, first and last shown dates, preview image, ad ids and (optionally) reach and ad content
## `errors` (type: `string`):
Advertisers or websites that returned no ads or could not be read, with the reason (not billed)
