## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Images Scraper

Scrape **Google Images** results by keyword and get clean JSON - the
**full-resolution image URL** and **source domain** for every result, plus the
source page URL, title, site name, thumbnail and image dimensions.

Unlike the old Google Images layout, the current results page carries every
result's origin image URL, so `imageUrl` is the real image on the publisher's
site, not a Google thumbnail. Powered by [ScrapeUnblocker](https://scrapeunblocker.com).

### Input

| Field | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `q` | yes | Search keyword, e.g. `eiffel tower`. |
| `pages` | no | Result pages to fetch (1-5, ~100 results each). Each page counts as one request. Default `1`. |
| `max_results` | no | Optional cap on results (1-500). Default: everything the pages return. |
| `proxy_country` | no | Country to search from (ISO-2, e.g. `US`, `DE`). The Google market follows it automatically. |
| `gl` | no | Optional Google market override (ISO-2 lowercase, e.g. `de`). Leave empty to follow `proxy_country`. |
| `time_range` | no | Only images Google found within a recent period: `hour`, `day`, `week`, `month` or `year` (Google Images Tools > Time). Empty = any time. |
| `date_from` | no | Only images Google found on or after this date (`YYYY-MM-DD`). |
| `date_to` | no | Only images Google found on or before this date (`YYYY-MM-DD`). |

Use either `time_range` or `date_from` / `date_to`, not both - if both are
set, the run fails straight away, before any search is made. Either end of the
date range may be left open.

```json
{
  "q": "eiffel tower",
  "pages": 3,
  "proxy_country": "US"
}
```

#### Only new images

To watch a keyword for new images, schedule this Actor (e.g. daily) with
`time_range` set to the same period as the schedule. Each run then returns
only images Google found since the previous run, and you pay only for those.

```json
{
  "q": "acme brand logo",
  "time_range": "day"
}
```

For a fixed window instead, set dates:

```json
{
  "q": "acme brand logo",
  "date_from": "2026-10-01",
  "date_to": "2026-10-14"
}
```

### Output

One dataset item per image result:

```json
{
  "imageUrl": "https://cdn.britannica.com/31/255531-050-B7E07090/eiffel-tower.jpg",
  "sourceDomain": "britannica.com",
  "sourcePageUrl": "https://www.britannica.com/topic/Eiffel-Tower-Paris-France",
  "title": "Eiffel Tower | History, Height, Facts",
  "sourceName": "Encyclopedia Britannica",
  "thumbnailUrl": "https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9Gc...",
  "width": 1600,
  "height": 1067,
  "fileSize": "418KB",
  "googleImagesUrl": "https://www.google.com/imgres?q=eiffel%20tower&imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.britannica.com%2F31%2F255531-050-B7E07090%2Feiffel-tower.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.britannica.com%2Ftopic%2FEiffel-Tower-Paris-France&docid=kZ9Xr2mFqL8AbM&tbnid=Xy7Qm2ntAbCDeM&w=1600&h=1067&hcb=2&ved=2ahUKEw...",
  "query": "eiffel tower"
}
```

Every item carries `imageUrl`, `sourceDomain` and `googleImagesUrl` (the
Google Images `/imgres?...` viewer link for the result). The full API
response (query, market, counts) is also stored in the `RAW` key-value record.

### About

This Actor is a thin wrapper over the ScrapeUnblocker
[Google Images plugin](https://docs.scrapeunblocker.com/plugins/google-images)
(`POST /images/google-search`). Get a ScrapeUnblocker API key at

# Actor input Schema

## `q` (type: `string`):

What to search Google Images for, e.g. 'eiffel tower' or 'red running shoes'.

## `pages` (type: `integer`):

How many Google Images result pages to fetch (1-5). Each page has ~100 results and counts as one request; Google stops at ~400-500 results per query.

## `proxy_country` (type: `string`):

Country to search from (ISO-2, e.g. 'US', 'DE'). The Google market (which images rank) follows it automatically.

## `gl` (type: `string`):

Optional. Leave empty and the Google market follows the proxy country automatically. Set it (ISO-2 lowercase, e.g. 'de') only if you want a different market than the IP country.

## `max_results` (type: `integer`):

Optional cap on the number of results saved (1-500). Leave empty to keep everything the requested pages return.

## `time_range` (type: `string`):

Only images Google found within this recent period (Google Images Tools > Time). Run the same keyword on a schedule with 'Past 24 hours' to get only new images. Cannot be combined with the date range below.

## `date_from` (type: `string`):

Optional. Only images Google found on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD). Use instead of 'Time'; leave 'To date' empty for an open end.

## `date_to` (type: `string`):

Optional. Only images Google found on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD). Use instead of 'Time'; leave 'From date' empty for an open start.

}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `items` (type: `string`):
Collected image results (imageUrl + sourceDomain + metadata)
