## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Menards Scraper

Scrape **Menards** (menards.com, US) as clean JSON. Get **search results**, priced for a **store or ZIP code** when you set one, or **product pages** in full. Every search result comes with the **Menards SKU and item id**, title, brand, link and image, the **shelf price**, the **everyday low price**, Menards' **rebate** (usually 11%) and the **price after rebate**, and **availability**: units in stock at the store, pickup and delivery. Product pages add the **model number**, sale and rebate end dates, description, **features**, **specifications**, images and breadcrumbs.

### Features

- **Store prices and stock** - set a store number, or a ZIP code to use the nearest store. Without one, Menards' online prices are returned and there is no store stock.
- **Search mode** - up to 120 products per search term (40 per page), sorted by best match, price, title or brand, filtered by price, in stock today, delivery or pickup. A keyword Menards sends to a category returns that category's products.
- **Product mode** - one product per input (`products`: product link or Menards SKU) with prices, rebate, specifications and features.
- **Many inputs per run** - search terms or products in parallel.

### Use cases

- **Price and rebate tracking** - sale prices, rebates and the price after rebate by keyword.
- **Store stock checks** - units in stock at a Menards store, in-stock-today searches.
- **Competitive pricing** - Menards against Home Depot and Lowe's for the same items.
- **Product catalogues** - model numbers, specifications and images for a category.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|-------|------|---------|-------------|
| `mode` | string | `search` | `search` or `product`. |
| `queries` | array | `deck screws` | Search terms (search mode). |
| `products` | array | - | Product links or Menards SKUs (product mode). |
| `storeId` | string | - | Menards store number, e.g. `3181` (search mode). |
| `zip` | string | - | US ZIP code; the nearest store is used (search mode). |
| `sort` | string | `relevance` | `relevance`, `price_low`, `price_high`, `title_asc`, `title_desc`, `brand_asc`, `brand_desc`. |
| `maxResults` | integer | `40` | Products per search term (1-120). |
| `page` | integer | `1` | Results page to start from (40 products per page). |
| `minPrice` / `maxPrice` | integer | - | Price range in USD. |
| `inStockToday` | boolean | `false` | Only items in stock today at the store (needs a store). |
| `deliveryEligible` | boolean | `false` | Only items eligible for delivery. |
| `pickupEligible` | boolean | `false` | Only items eligible for in-store pickup. |
| `concurrency` | integer | `2` | Inputs processed at the same time (1-3). |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "mode": "search",
  "queries": ["deck screws", "2x4 lumber"],
  "zip": "53703",
  "sort": "price_low",
  "maxResults": 40
}
```

### Output

One dataset item per product, with the input it came from (and the store, when one is set). A search item:

```json
{
  "mode": "search",
  "input": "deck screws",
  "position": 1,
  "itemId": "1444450183111",
  "sku": "2303502",
  "title": "Grip Fast® #9 x 2-1/2\" Star Drive Gold Flat Head Triple Coated Exterior Deck Scre...",
  "brand": "Grip Fast",
  "url": "https://www.menards.com/main/hardware/fasteners-connectors/screws/deck-screws/grip-fast-reg-9-x-2-1-2-star-drive-gold-flat-head-triple-coated-exterior-deck-screw-5-lb-box/2303502/p-1444450183111-c-8929.htm",
  "image": "https://cdn.menardc.com/main/items/media/OMGIN001/ProductLarge/2303502_mimage.jpg",
  "price": 29.97,
  "regularPrice": 29.97,
  "onSale": false,
  "rebate": 3.3,
  "rebateLabel": "11% REBATE*",
  "priceAfterRebate": 26.67,
  "minimumAdvertisedPrice": null,
  "priceInCheckout": false,
  "unitOfMeasure": "each",
  "currency": "USD",
  "availability": { "pickup": true, "delivery": true, "stockAtStore": 0, "deliveryMessage": "As soon as tomorrow" },
  "variationCount": 12,
  "categoryId": "8929",
  "store": { "storeId": "3034", "name": "MONONA", "city": "MONONA", "state": "WI", "zip": "53716", "distanceMiles": 4.1 }
}
```

For items whose maker lets Menards show the price only in checkout, `priceInCheckout` is true and `minimumAdvertisedPrice` holds the advertised price. A product-mode item adds `modelNumber`, `saleEnds`, `rebateEnds`, `offerPrice`, `availability`, `description`, `features`, `specifications` (name, value), `images` and `breadcrumbs` (product pages show Menards' online prices).

Per search term, the `LISTINGS` record in the key-value store keeps the store, `totalResults`, the category Menards sent the search to and paging.

### Pricing

**$2.50 per 1000 products** (pay per result). A search term or product that returns nothing (no match, an unknown SKU) is listed in the `ERRORS` record of the key-value store and is not charged.

Built on the [ScrapeUnblocker](https://www.scrapeunblocker.com) API.
