## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Quora Scraper

Scrape **Quora questions, answers and profiles** as clean structured JSON - one row per answer with the full answer **text**, its images and links, the **author** (name, profile URL, avatar, credential line, verified and anonymous flags), **upvotes**, **views**, **shares**, **comments**, created and updated dates, the AI-generated and pinned flags, and the question it answers. Every row also carries the question you asked for (title, URL, answer and follower counts, topics), so a whole run drops straight into a spreadsheet. Read public **profiles** too: followers, answer / question / post counts, content views, credentials, topics, Spaces and the newest answers. Many questions and profiles in one run, up to 300 answers per question. No Quora account, no cookies, no proxies to configure.

### Features

- **Any question input** - a question URL, an answer URL on it, an `/unanswered/` URL or just the slug (`What-is-the-best-way-to-learn-programming`). Language editions (`es.quora.com`, `de.quora.com`, ...) work as URLs.
- **Up to 300 answers per question**, in Quora's own order - the Actor pages through the answer list for you.
- **Merged and related answers** - answers to questions Quora merged into yours are included (`relation` = `merged`); switch on **Include answers to related questions** to get Quora's "All related" answers too (`relation` = `related`).
- **Profiles** - a profile URL or slug returns the profile's newest answers, or one profile row with all its stats when **Max answers per profile** is 0.
- **Unanswered questions** - a question without answers comes back as one `question` row (title, counts, topics, related questions), handy for finding questions to answer.
- **Rich answer data** - full text, image and link lists, engagement counters, dates, author credential, AI-generated flag.
- **Question and profile summaries** - the `QUESTIONS` and `PROFILES` records hold the full question (topics with links, asker, comment count, related questions) and profile data, with paging state and `nextCursor`.
- **Deduplicated** - the same question given as a URL, an answer URL and a slug is read once; profile URLs pasted into the questions list are read as profiles.

### Use cases

- **Content and SEO research** - see what people ask and which answers rank, by topic and engagement.
- **Marketing and brand monitoring** - track questions about your product or competitors and what the top answers say.
- **Lead and expert discovery** - find active authors with their credentials and follower counts.
- **Q\&A datasets and LLM pipelines** - clean question / answer pairs with authors and dates for analysis, classification or fine-tuning.
- **Answer opportunities** - collect unanswered or lightly answered questions in your niche.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|-------|------|---------|-------------|
| `questions` | array | - | Question URLs, answer URLs, `/unanswered/` URLs or slugs. |
| `maxAnswers` | integer | `20` | Answers per question (1-300). |
| `includeRelated` | boolean | `false` | Also return answers to related questions. |
| `profiles` | array | - | Profile URLs or slugs. |
| `maxProfileAnswers` | integer | `10` | Newest answers per profile (0-200; 0 = the profile row only). |
| `proxyCountry` | string | - | Optional exit-IP country (ISO-2). Leave empty for the most reliable results. |
| `concurrency` | integer | `3` | Questions / profiles read at the same time (1-5). |

A run with both lists empty reads the example question `What-is-the-best-way-to-learn-programming`.

```
- `question` is the question this answer was written for; with `relation` = `merged` or `related` it differs from the question you asked, which is always in `sourceQuestion`.
- Answers from a profile carry `"source": "profile"` and a `sourceProfile` object (uid, name, profile URL, headline, followers, answer count, verified) instead of `sourceQuestion`.
- A profile read with **Max answers per profile** = 0 (or a profile without answers) is one item with `"type": "profile"` and the full profile: `uid`, `name`, `profileUrl`, `imageUrl`, `headline`, `description`, `followerCount`, `followingCount`, `answerCount`, `questionCount`, `postCount`, `contentViews`, `contentViewsLastMonth`, `topWriterYears`, `credentials`, `knowsAbout`, `spaces`, `isVerified`, `joinedAt`.
- A question without answers is one item with `"type": "question"`, the question fields and `relatedQuestions`.
The key-value store also holds:
- `QUESTIONS` - per question: the full question (topics with links, asker id, comment count), related questions, answers collected, `hasMore` and `nextCursor`.
- `PROFILES` - per profile: the full profile, answers collected and paging state.
- `ERRORS` - questions and profiles that returned nothing (not found on Quora, not a question or profile URL, blocked), with the reason. These are **not billed**.
### Pricing
**$0.89 per 1000 results.** A result is one answer, or one question / profile row as described above. You pay only for results delivered; failed inputs are not charged.
### Notes
- Only what Quora shows a logged-out visitor is available. Quora's own search and topic feeds require an account, so start from question or profile URLs.
- Quora's logged-out profile feed can end before the requested number of answers (on large profiles it currently stops after about 30 of the newest answers). Question pages have no such limit.
- Image links point at Quora's CDN; download the files you need soon after the run.
# Actor input Schema
## `questions` (type: `array`):
Quora questions: a question URL (https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-best-way-to-learn-programming), an answer URL on it, an /unanswered/ URL or the question slug (What-is-the-best-way-to-learn-programming). Language editions such as es.quora.com work as URLs. A profile URL pasted here is read as a profile. Empty runs use the example only when Profiles is empty too.
## `maxAnswers` (type: `integer`):
How many answers to collect for each question (1-300), in Quora's own order.
## `includeRelated` (type: `boolean`):
Off: answers to the question itself and to questions Quora merged into it. On: also the answers Quora shows from related questions (its 'All related' view); those rows have relation = related.
## `profiles` (type: `array`):
Public Quora profiles: a profile URL (https://www.quora.com/profile/Adam-DAngelo) or the profile slug (Adam-DAngelo). Each profile returns its newest answers, or one profile row when Max answers per profile is 0.
## `maxProfileAnswers` (type: `integer`):
Newest answers to collect for each profile (0-200). 0 returns only the profile itself (followers, answer / question / post counts, content views, credentials, topics, Spaces) as one row.
## `proxyCountry` (type: `string`):
Optional exit-IP country (ISO-2, e.g. US, DE). Leave empty: the exit is chosen for Quora automatically, which is the most reliable.
## `concurrency` (type: `integer`):
How many questions / profiles to read at the same time (1-5).
  "concurrency": 3
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One item per answer, with the asked question (or the profile) on every row

## `questions` (type: `string`):

Per question: full question data (topics with links, counts), related questions, answers collected, paging state and nextCursor

## `profiles` (type: `string`):

Per profile: full profile data (credentials, topics, Spaces, top writer years), answers collected, paging state

## `errors` (type: `string`):

Questions and profiles that returned nothing (not found on Quora, invalid input, blocked), with the reason (not billed)
