## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Telegram Channel Scraper

Scrape **public Telegram channels** as clean structured JSON - one row per post with the post URL, date, plain text and formatted HTML, **views**, author signature, edited flag, forwarded-from and reply-to references, **media** (photos, videos, round videos, voice notes, documents, stickers with their CDN links), polls, link previews, **reactions**, inline buttons, links, hashtags and mentions - and the channel's username, title, subscriber count and verified mark on every row. Many channels in one run, up to 500 posts each. No Telegram account, no phone number, no API key.

### Features

- **Any channel input** - a username (`durov`), `@durov`, or a t.me link (`https://t.me/durov`, `https://t.me/s/durov`). A post link (`https://t.me/durov/400`) returns just that post.
- **Up to 500 posts per channel**, newest first - the Actor pages back through the channel's history for you.
- **Search inside a channel** - only posts matching a text, using Telegram's own channel search.
- **Date filter** - only posts published since a date, so a daily or weekly run returns just the new ones.
- **Rich post data** - views, reactions (including paid stars), media links with thumbnails and durations, polls with options, link previews, forwards and replies.
- **Channel profile** - the `CHANNELS` record holds each channel's title, description, avatar, verified mark and subscriber / photo / video / link counters.
- **Deduplicated** - the same channel given twice (`durov`, `@durov`, `t.me/durov`) is read once.

### Use cases

- **Channel monitoring** - a scheduled run with `since` delivers every new post of the channels you follow.
- **Media and crypto research** - track announcements, signals and news channels; measure reach with views and reactions.
- **Brand and competitor tracking** - search channels for your brand or product names.
- **Content analysis** - feed posts into BI tools, spreadsheets or an LLM for topic, sentiment and engagement analysis.
- **Archiving** - keep a structured copy of a channel's public posts and media links.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|-------|------|---------|-------------|
| `channels` | array | `["durov"]` | Public channel usernames, @handles, t.me links or post links. |
| `maxPosts` | integer | `20` | Posts per channel, newest first (1-500). |
| `searchQuery` | string | - | Only posts matching this text. |
| `since` | string | - | Only posts published on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD, UTC). |
| `concurrency` | integer | `3` | Channels read at the same time (1-5). |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "channels": ["durov", "@telegram", "https://t.me/s/bbcnews"],
  "maxPosts": 100,
  "since": "2026-09-01"
}
```

### Output

One dataset item per post (long values shortened):

```json
{
  "channelUsername": "durov",
  "channelTitle": "Pavel Durov",
  "channelUrl": "https://t.me/durov",
  "channelSubscribers": 10500000,
  "channelVerified": true,
  "id": 400,
  "url": "https://t.me/durov/400",
  "type": "message",
  "date": "2025-02-14T01:25:56Z",
  "text": "In just one hour, all the rings are gone ⛔️\n35,000 items, ~$20 each. That’s $700,000 in sales...",
  "textHtml": "In just one hour, all the rings are gone <tg-emoji emoji-id=\"5215371279929976844\">...",
  "views": 4450000,
  "viewsRaw": "4.45M",
  "author": "Paul Du Rove",
  "edited": false,
  "media": [
    {"type": "photo", "url": "https://cdn4.telesco.pe/file/...jpg", "postId": 400}
  ],
  "reactions": [
    {"emoji": "⭐", "paid": true, "count": 6560, "countRaw": "6.56K"},
    {"customEmojiId": "5190660975866437599", "count": 19500, "countRaw": "19.5K"}
  ],
  "channelInput": "https://t.me/durov/400"
}
```

Depending on the post, items also carry `forwardedFrom`, `replyTo`, `poll`, `linkPreview`, `buttons`, `links`, `hashtags` and `mentions`.

The key-value store also holds:

- `CHANNELS` - per channel: username, URL, title, description, avatar, verified mark, subscribers and the photo / video / link counters, posts collected.
- `ERRORS` - channels that returned no posts (unknown or private channel, a user / bot / group, no post matching the search or date) with the reason. These are **not billed**.

### Pricing

**$0.30 per 1000 posts.** You pay only for posts delivered; failed channels are not charged.

### Notes

- Only **public channels** with a web preview can be read. Private channels, invite links, groups, users and bots have no public preview and end up in `ERRORS`.
- Media links point at Telegram's CDN and expire after a while; download the files you need soon after the run.
- An album counts as one post with several `media` entries.

# Actor input Schema

## `channels` (type: `array`):

Public Telegram channels: a username (durov), @durov, or a t.me link (https://t.me/durov, https://t.me/s/durov). A post link (https://t.me/durov/400) returns that one post. Private invite links, groups, users and bots have no public preview.

## `maxPosts` (type: `integer`):

Upper limit of posts per channel, newest first (1-500).

## `searchQuery` (type: `string`):

Optional. Only posts matching this text (Telegram's own channel search).

## `since` (type: `string`):

Optional. Only posts published on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD, UTC) - handy for daily or weekly monitoring runs.

## `concurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many channels to read at the same time (1-5).

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "channels": [
    "durov"
  ],
  "maxPosts": 20,
  "concurrency": 3
}
```

## `results` (type: `string`):

One item per post, with the channel's username, title and subscribers

## `channels` (type: `string`):

Per channel: title, description, avatar, verified mark, subscriber / photo / video / link counters and posts collected

## `errors` (type: `string`):

Channels that returned no posts (unknown or private channel, no match for the filters, blocked), with the reason (not billed)
