## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Telegram Channel Scraper do?

Telegram Channel Scraper pulls posts from any **public Telegram channel** with no Telegram account, phone number or API key.
Give it channel names or links and get every post's text, date, views, reactions, media type, forwards and links, plus
the **@mentions, #hashtags, $cashtags and Solana / EVM contract addresses** found in each post.

- Go back in time with a **date range**, or cap posts per channel.
- Use Telegram's own **in-channel search** so you only pay for matching posts.
- Keep **only posts with crypto contract addresses**, ideal for tracking call channels.
- Run it on a schedule and send results to Google Sheets, Slack, Make, Zapier or your own API.

### What data can you extract?

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `channel`, `postId`, `url` | Channel username, post number and direct link |
| `date`, `timestamp` | When the post was published (UTC) |
| `text` | Full post text with line breaks |
| `views`, `reactionsTotal` | View count and total reactions |
| `mediaType` | `photo`, `video`, `document`, `poll` or empty |
| `forwardedFrom`, `edited` | Original channel for forwards; whether the post was edited |
| `links`, `mentions`, `hashtags`, `cashtags` | Outbound URLs, `@handles`, `#tags`, `$TICKERS` |
| `solanaAddresses`, `evmAddresses` | Contract or wallet addresses in the text and links |

With **Add channel info** on, you also get one free row per channel with its title, description and subscriber count.

### How to scrape a Telegram channel

1. Add one or more channels: `durov`, `@durov` or `https://t.me/durov`.
2. Optionally set **Max posts per channel**, a **date range** or a **search query**.
3. Click **Start** and download results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or fetch them through the API.

### Example output

```json
{
  "type": "post",
  "channel": "durov",
  "postId": 535,
  "url": "https://t.me/durov/535",
  "date": "2026-07-30T16:52:37+00:00",
  "text": "...",
  "views": 6020000,
  "reactionsTotal": 263300,
  "mediaType": "video",
  "hashtags": [],
  "cashtags": [],
  "solanaAddresses": [],
  "evmAddresses": []
}
```

### How much does it cost?

You pay per post returned. Channel-info rows and error rows are free. Each run has a tiny $0.00005 start charge.
Set a maximum cost per run and the scraper stops cleanly when it is reached.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Telegram account?** No. It reads the public web preview that Telegram shows for every public channel.

**Can it scrape private groups or chats?** No. Only public channels with a web preview are reachable, by design.

**Is it legal?** It collects posts that channel owners chose to publish publicly. You are responsible for using the
data in line with Telegram's terms and the privacy laws that apply to you.

**Something broke or you need a field?** Open an issue on the Issues tab and it will be looked at quickly.

# Actor input Schema

## `channels` (type: `array`):

Public channel usernames or links, e.g. durov, @durov, https://t.me/durov

## `maxPostsPerChannel` (type: `integer`):

Stops each channel after this many posts (newest first).

## `sinceDate` (type: `string`):

Optional. Paging stops once posts are older than this date (UTC).

## `untilDate` (type: `string`):

Optional. Skips posts on/after this date (UTC).

## `searchQuery` (type: `string`):

Optional. Uses Telegram's own in-channel search, so only matching posts are fetched and charged.

## `onlyWithCryptoAddresses` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only posts that contain a Solana or EVM address (useful for call channels).

## `includeChannelInfo` (type: `boolean`):

Title, description and subscriber count. Not charged.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional. Datacenter proxy is enough for most channels.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "channels": [
    "durov"
  ],
  "maxPostsPerChannel": 100,
  "onlyWithCryptoAddresses": false,
  "includeChannelInfo": true,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

All rows in the default dataset (JSON).

## `overview` (type: `string`):

The main fields as a table.
