## Pricing

from $3.40 / 1,000 keyword reports

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Trends Scraper

Google Trends Scraper turns **Google Trends** into clean JSON, CSV or Excel, **without login, cookies or an API key**. Give it keywords and a place, and each keyword comes back as one report row: **interest over time** with a ready summary (average, peak, latest value, change over the period), **interest by country, state, city or metro**, and **related queries, top and rising**. Compare up to 5 keywords on the same scale, switch to YouTube, News, Images or Shopping search, and add **today's trending searches** for any country with approximate volume and news links.

**US$ 4.00 per 1,000 keyword reports. US$ 1.00 per 1,000 trending searches. No monthly fee, no start fee. Error rows are free.**

### At a glance

- **Price:** US$ 4 per 1,000 keyword reports (all sections in one row); US$ 1 per 1,000 trending searches
- **Per keyword:** Interest over time + summary, interest by region, related queries top and rising
- **Summary fields:** `averageInterest`, `peakValue`, `peakDate`, `latestValue`, `changePercent` (last quarter of the period vs first)
- **Comparison:** Up to 5 keywords on one scale, as on the site
- **Search types:** Web, YouTube, News, Images, Google Shopping
- **Places:** Worldwide, any country, any region (US-CA, BR-SP); breakdown by country, state, city or metro
- **Trending now:** Any country: title, approximate searches, start time, image, news links
- **Rate limits:** New IP and back-off on every "too many requests", residential proxy after repeated limits

### One real row

`bitcoin` in the US, past 12 months (collected on 2026-09-30, lists trimmed):

```json
{
  "type": "keyword",
  "keyword": "bitcoin",
  "geo": "US",
  "timeframe": "past_12_months",
  "averageInterest": 35.0,
  "peakValue": 100,
  "peakDate": "2026-02-01T00:00:00Z",
  "latestValue": 17,
  "changePercent": -43.5,
  "interestOverTime": [{ "date": "2025-09-28T00:00:00Z", "value": 28, "isPartial": false }],
  "interestByRegion": [{ "geoCode": "US-WY", "name": "Wyoming", "value": 100 }, { "geoCode": "US-NV", "name": "Nevada", "value": 48 }],
  "exploreUrl": "https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=bitcoin&geo=US&date=today+12-m"
}
```

And a trending row (Brazil):

```json
{ "type": "trending", "country": "BR", "rank": 1, "title": "aviação", "approxTraffic": "1000+", "approxTrafficNumber": 1000,
  "startedAt": "2026-09-30T14:20:00Z", "news": [{ "title": "Primeiro caso de passageiro suspenso na aviação...", "url": "https://aeroin.net/...", "source": "AEROIN" }] }
```

### What you can do with it

- **Keyword and content research:** see which topics grow, when they peak and which related queries are rising right now.
- **Product and market timing:** compare brands, products or categories on one scale, by country, state or city.
- **SEO and ads:** find rising queries before your competitors and seasonal peaks to plan campaigns.
- **Newsrooms and social teams:** pull the trending searches of several countries every hour with their news links.
- **Dashboards and AI agents:** one row per keyword with stable field names and the summary already computed.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `keywords` | Search terms, one per line. One report row each. |
| `geo` | Country (`US`, `BR`) or region (`US-CA`, `BR-SP`). Empty = worldwide. |
| `timeframe` | `past_hour`, `past_4_hours`, `past_day`, `past_7_days`, `past_30_days`, `past_90_days`, `past_12_months` (default), `past_5_years`, `since_2004`, or a custom `YYYY-MM-DD YYYY-MM-DD` |
| `compareKeywords` | Put up to 5 keywords on the same scale. |
| `searchProperty` | `web`, `youtube`, `news`, `images`, `shopping` |
| `category` | Google Trends category id (0 = all) |
| `includeRegions`, `regionResolution` | Interest by region, and its level: `country`, `region`, `city`, `metro` |
| `includeRelated` | Related queries top and rising |
| `trendingCountries` | Country codes for today's trending searches |

```json
{ "keywords": ["iphone", "samsung galaxy", "xiaomi"], "compareKeywords": true, "geo": "BR", "timeframe": "past_90_days", "regionResolution": "city" }
```

```json
{ "trendingCountries": ["US", "GB", "IN", "BR", "DE"] }
```

### Output fields

#### Keyword rows (`type: "keyword"`)

| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `keyword`, `geo`, `timeframe`, `category`, `searchProperty`, `comparedWith` | What was asked |
| `interestOverTime` | `[{date, value, isPartial}]`, values 0 to 100 as on Google Trends |
| `averageInterest`, `peakValue`, `peakDate`, `latestValue`, `changePercent` | Summary of the series; `changePercent` compares the last quarter of the period with the first |
| `interestByRegion` | `[{geoCode, name, value}]` |
| `relatedQueriesTop`, `relatedQueriesRising` | `[{query, value, formattedValue}]`; rising values are growth in percent, "Breakout" above 5000% |
| `relatedTopicsTop`, `relatedTopicsRising` | Filled only when Google serves topics to this session (often empty for automated access) |
| `exploreUrl` | The same query on the Google Trends site |

#### Trending rows (`type: "trending"`)

`country`, `rank`, `title`, `approxTraffic` ("1000+"), `approxTrafficNumber`, `startedAt`, `pictureUrl`, `pictureSource`, `news` (`[{title, url, source}]`).

#### Error codes (never charged)

| errorCode | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `NO_DATA` | Not enough search volume for this keyword, place and period (Google shows no chart either) |
| `BLOCKED` | Google kept answering "too many requests" after new IPs and back-off; run again |
| `INVALID_INPUT` | Unknown time range, search type or category, or a request Google rejected |
| `NO_RESULTS` | No trending searches for that country code |
| `NOT_REACHED`, `UNEXPECTED` | The run timeout arrived, or something unforeseen broke; only that keyword is lost |

### Pricing

| Event | Per 1,000 |
|---|---|
| Keyword report (all sections) | US$ 4.00 |
| Trending search | US$ 1.00 |

A 50 keyword study costs US$ 0.20. Keywords without data and blocked requests are free. There is no Apify compute bill on top.

### Limitations

- **Values are relative, as on Google Trends:** 0 to 100 within the chosen keyword, place and period (or within the comparison group). They are not search volumes.
- **Google limits automated access.** The Actor paces its requests (about 15 seconds per keyword with all sections), changes IP on every limit and moves to residential proxies when needed. Very large lists take longer; split them across runs if you need speed.
- **Related topics** are often withheld by Google from automated sessions; related queries are not.
- This Actor reads public Google Trends data only and respects the site's terms.

### Changelog

- **2026-09-30, 0.1:** first release. Interest over time with summary, interest by region at four levels, related queries, keyword comparison, five search types, categories, custom date ranges, trending searches by country with news, free error rows.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Search terms, one per line. Each keyword returns one report row: interest over time with a summary (average, peak, latest value, change), interest by region and related queries.

## `geo` (type: `string`):

Country code (US, BR, GB, IN...) or a region code (US-CA, BR-SP). Empty = worldwide.

## `timeframe` (type: `string`):

Period of the interest data. Through the API you can also send a custom range: '2026-01-01 2026-06-30'.

## `compareKeywords` (type: `boolean`):

Put up to 5 keywords in the same chart, as on the site, so their values are relative to each other. Off: each keyword is scaled on its own (0 to 100).

## `searchProperty` (type: `string`):

Which Google search the interest comes from.

## `category` (type: `integer`):

Google Trends category id (0 = all categories; 7 = Finance, 18 = Shopping, 71 = Food & Drink, 174 = Sports...).

## `includeRegions` (type: `boolean`):

Add interest by region to each keyword.

## `regionResolution` (type: `string`):

Detail of the regional breakdown. Empty lets Google pick (countries for worldwide, states inside a country).

## `includeRelated` (type: `boolean`):

Add the top and rising related queries (and related topics when Google serves them).

## `trendingCountries` (type: `array`):

Also return today's trending searches for these countries (US, BR, GB, IN, DE...), with approximate search volume, start time and news links. One row per trending search.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy is recommended. When Google answers 'too many requests', the Actor changes IP and waits; after repeated limits it moves to residential proxies on its own.
