## Pricing

from $5.95 / 1,000 domain report delivereds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Moz Domain Authority Checker

Moz Domain Authority Checker gets **Moz metrics for thousands of domains at once**, without a Moz account or subscription. For each domain you get:

- **Domain Authority (DA)**, Moz's score of how likely a site is to rank;
- **linking root domains**, the number of distinct domains that link to the site;
- **ranking keywords** and **spam score**;
- the **top pages by Page Authority** and the **top linking domains** with their DA;
- **60 days of discovered and lost linking domains**, day by day.

**US$ 7.00 per 1,000 domains, residential proxy included. No monthly fee, no start fee. Invalid and failed domains are free.**

### At a glance

- **Price per 1,000 domains:** US$ 7.00, no run start fee
- **Moz account:** Not needed
- **Proxy:** Residential, included in the price (Moz blocks datacenter IPs)
- **Per domain:** DA, linking root domains, ranking keywords, spam score, top pages, top linking domains, 60-day link history
- **Speed:** About 100 domains in 2 to 3 minutes
- **Error rows:** Free, with an `errorCode`

### One real row

`apify.com`, collected on 2026-09-30 in the Apify cloud (lists shortened):

```json
{
  "type": "domain",
  "domain": "apify.com",
  "domainAuthority": 60,
  "linkingRootDomains": 12200,
  "linkingRootDomainsText": "12.2k",
  "rankingKeywords": 32700,
  "spamScore": 3,
  "topPages": [{ "url": "apify.com/", "pageAuthority": 59 }, { "url": "apify.com/store", "pageAuthority": 52 }],
  "topLinkingDomains": [{ "domain": "youtube.com", "domainAuthority": 100 }, { "domain": "wordpress.org", "domainAuthority": 98 }],
  "linkingDomainsDiscovered60d": 2072,
  "linkingDomainsLost60d": 425,
  "linkingDomainsHistory": [{ "date": "2026-09-29", "discovered": 50, "lost": 15 }],
  "mozUrl": "https://moz.com/domain-analysis?site=apify.com"
}
```

In the same run, 100 well-known domains came back in 142 seconds, for example `github.com` DA 97, `notion.so` DA 86 and `moz.com` DA 91.

### What you can do with it

- **Link building and outreach:** score thousands of prospect sites by DA and spam score before you contact them.
- **Domain buying and expired domains:** check authority, spam score and link trend of a list of domains.
- **Competitor research:** compare DA, linking domains and link growth over the last 60 days.
- **SEO reporting:** schedule a monthly run on your clients' domains and track DA and link gains.
- **Lead scoring:** add DA to a list of company websites to prioritise leads.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `domains` | Domains or website links, one per line. `https://www.notion.so/pricing` is read as `notion.so` |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Residential by default. Keep it: Moz blocks datacenter IPs |

```json
{ "domains": ["apify.com", "notion.so", "https://www.shopify.com/pricing"] }
```

### Output fields

`domain`, `input`, `domainAuthority`, `linkingRootDomains` (number) and `linkingRootDomainsText` (as Moz shows it, like `12.2k`), `rankingKeywords` and `rankingKeywordsText`, `spamScore` and `spamScoreText`, `topPages` (`url`, `pageAuthority`), `topLinkingDomains` (`domain`, `domainAuthority`), `linkingDomainsDiscovered60d`, `linkingDomainsLost60d`, `linkingDomainsHistory` (`date`, `discovered`, `lost`), `mozUrl`, `scrapedAt`.

Moz shows large numbers rounded (`6.4m`, `387.1k`); the number fields are that rounded value. A brand new or unknown domain comes back with DA 1 and 0 linking domains, which is Moz's real answer for a site with no links.

#### Error codes (never charged)

| errorCode | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `INVALID_DOMAIN` | Not a domain or website link |
| `NO_DATA` | Moz returned no metrics for this domain |
| `BLOCKED` | Moz did not answer after retries on new IPs; run again |
| `NOT_REACHED`, `UNEXPECTED` | The run timeout arrived, or something unforeseen broke; only that domain is lost |

### Pricing

| Event | Per 1,000 |
|---|---|
| Domain report delivered | US$ 7.00 |

1,000 domains cost US$ 7.00, residential proxy included. Duplicates in the input are checked once, error rows are free, and there is no Apify compute bill on top.

### Limitations

- These are the metrics Moz shows on its free Domain Authority checker. Page-level metrics for any URL, the full list of backlinks and keyword lists are part of Moz Pro and are not included.
- Moz gives each visitor only a couple of free reports, so the Actor uses a new residential IP for every domain.
- This Actor reads public pages only. Domain Authority is a trademark of Moz; this Actor is not affiliated with Moz.

### Changelog

- **2026-09-30, 0.1:** first release. Bulk DA, linking root domains, ranking keywords, spam score, top pages, top linking domains and 60-day link history, residential proxy included, free error rows.
