## Pricing

from $1.28 / 1,000 comment delivereds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## YouTube Comments Scraper

YouTube Comments Scraper turns **YouTube comments and replies** into clean JSON, CSV or Excel, **without login, cookies or a YouTube API key** (so no API quota either). Paste video, Shorts or live links and get each comment's text, likes, reply count, date, edit flag, author display name and badges, whether it is **pinned** and whether the **creator hearted** it, plus the **replies** when you want them. Top comments or newest first, as on YouTube.

**US$ 1.50 per 1,000 comments. No monthly fee, no start fee. Error rows are free.**

### At a glance

- **Price per 1,000 comments or replies:** US$ 1.50
- **Order:** Top comments or newest first
- **Replies:** Optional, linked to the parent by `parentCommentId`
- **Pinned and creator heart:** `isPinned`, `isHeartedByCreator`, `authorIsCreator`
- **Likes and replies:** As integers (`321K` becomes 321000)
- **Video context:** `videoTitle` and the video's comment total
- **Login, cookies, API key:** None

### One real row

`https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ`, top comments (collected on 2026-09-30):

```json
{
  "type": "comment",
  "commentId": "Ugzge340dBgB75hWBm54AaABAg",
  "videoId": "dQw4w9WgXcQ",
  "videoTitle": "Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up (Official Video) (4K Remaster)",
  "commentUrl": "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ&lc=Ugzge340dBgB75hWBm54AaABAg",
  "text": "can confirm: he never gave us up",
  "likeCount": 321000,
  "replyCount": 963,
  "publishedTimeText": "1 year ago",
  "publishedAtApprox": "2025-09-30T09:56:30Z",
  "isEdited": false,
  "authorName": "@YouTube",
  "authorIsVerified": true,
  "isPinned": true,
  "isHeartedByCreator": true
}
```

A reply to it: `{"type": "reply", "parentCommentId": "Ugzge340dBgB75hWBm54AaABAg", "text": "YOUTUBE AND ONE LIKE WOOHAAAAH", "likeCount": 7500}`.

### What you can do with it

- **Audience research and content ideas:** what viewers ask, praise and complain about on your videos and your competitors'.
- **Sentiment and brand monitoring:** export thousands of comments on product reviews, launches or ads for analysis.
- **Community management:** the newest comments first, with pinned and creator-hearted flags, on a schedule.
- **Datasets for AI:** clean text with likes and replies as engagement signals.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `videoUrls` | Video, Shorts or live links, or video ids |
| `maxComments` | Top-level comments per video (default 100) |
| `sortBy` | `top` (default) or `newest` |
| `includeReplies`, `maxRepliesPerComment` | Replies of each comment, up to N each (default 20) |

```json
{ "videoUrls": ["https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNQXAC9IVRw"], "maxComments": 500, "sortBy": "newest", "includeReplies": true, "maxRepliesPerComment": 10 }
```

### Output fields

`type` (`comment` or `reply`), `commentId`, `commentUrl`, `videoId`, `videoTitle`, `videoCommentCount` (as YouTube shows it, rounded for large numbers such as 10M), `text`, `likeCount`, `replyCount`, `publishedTimeText` (as YouTube shows it), `publishedAtApprox` (computed from it; YouTube gives only relative dates), `isEdited`, `authorName`, `authorIsVerified`, `authorIsCreator`, `isPinned`, `isHeartedByCreator`, `parentCommentId`, `scrapedAt`.

About the people who comment, only what YouTube shows next to the comment: the display name and the verified badge. Never channel ids, photos or links.

#### Error codes (never charged)

| errorCode | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `COMMENTS_UNAVAILABLE` | Comments are off, or the video is private, deleted or age restricted |
| `NO_RESULTS` | The video has no comments yet |
| `INVALID_URL` | Not a YouTube video link or id |
| `BLOCKED`, `NOT_REACHED`, `UNEXPECTED` | YouTube did not answer after retries, the run timeout arrived, or something unforeseen broke; only that video is lost |

### Pricing

**US$ 1.50 per 1,000 comments or replies.** 10,000 comments cost US$ 15.00. Error rows and duplicates are free, and there is no Apify compute bill on top.

### Limitations

- **Dates are relative on YouTube** ("3 weeks ago"); `publishedAtApprox` converts them, so older comments are accurate to the unit YouTube shows (day, week, month or year).
- Very large videos have millions of comments; set `maxComments` to what you need, the run pages 20 at a time.
- This Actor reads public comments only and respects the site's terms.

### Changelog

- **2026-09-30, 0.1:** first release. Comments and replies, top or newest, pinned and creator heart, likes and reply counts as numbers, free error rows.
