## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Norway & France Company Financials

Get **revenue, profit, balance sheet and margins** for Norwegian and French companies straight from the official open company registers. Look up companies by organisation number, name, industry code or region, or **screen** a whole market by size and revenue (for example: software companies in Oslo with more than 100 employees and more than NOK 100 million in revenue). No login, no API key, no proxy.

### What you get

One result per company, with the latest accounts on top and up to three fiscal years in a `history` list.

| Field | Norway | France |
|---|---|---|
| `companyId`, `name`, `legalForm`, `legalFormCode`, `status` | yes | yes |
| `industryCode` (+ `industryName`) | NACE / SN2025 (with name) | NAF code |
| `employees` / `employeeBracket` | exact number registered on the entity | official size bracket |
| `city`, `postalCode`, `region`, `foundedDate`, `website` | yes | yes (no website) |
| `revenue`, `netProfit` | yes | yes |
| `operatingProfit`, `profitBeforeTax`, `netFinancialResult` | yes | - |
| `totalAssets`, `fixedAssets`, `currentAssets`, `inventory`, `receivables`, `cash` | yes | - |
| `equity`, `totalLiabilities`, `currentLiabilities`, `longTermLiabilities` | yes | - |
| `netMarginPct`, `operatingMarginPct`, `equityRatioPct`, `revenueGrowthPct` | yes | `netMarginPct`, `revenueGrowthPct` |
| `currency`, `fiscalYear`, `periodStart`, `periodEnd`, `accountBasis` | yes | `currency` (EUR), `fiscalYear` |
| `qualityFlags`, `history`, `source`, `sourceUrl` | yes | yes |

All amounts are in the currency in `currency` (NOK for most Norwegian companies, EUR for France; a few Norwegian groups report in USD or EUR and are flagged). Nothing is converted.

### Input

```json
{
  "country": "NO",
  "industryCodes": ["62.100"],
  "regions": ["0301"],
  "minEmployees": 60,
  "minRevenue": 100000000,
  "maxResults": 25
}
```

Ways to select companies (combine freely):

- **companyIds**: Norwegian organisation numbers or French SIREN numbers (9 digits).
- **searchQueries**: company names, for example `Equinor` or `Danone`.
- **Filters**: `industryCodes`, `regions`, `legalForms`, `minEmployees` / `maxEmployees`, `minRevenue` / `maxRevenue`, `minNetProfit` / `maxNetProfit`.

Other options: `yearsOfHistory` (1-3), `includeHistory`, `accountBasis` (Norway: group accounts or company accounts), `onlyWithFinancials` (skip companies without published accounts), `activeOnly` (France). `maxResults` is the number of companies returned.

Revenue and profit filters are applied by the French register itself, so French screens are fast. For Norway the register cannot filter on revenue, so each candidate is checked one by one (about one request per second); narrow the search with industry code, region and employees to keep runs short.

#### Output example (shortened)

```json
{
  "country": "NO",
  "companyId": "982463718",
  "name": "TELENOR ASA",
  "legalFormCode": "ASA",
  "status": "active",
  "fiscalYear": 2025,
  "currency": "NOK",
  "accountBasis": "consolidated",
  "revenue": 77292000000,
  "operatingProfit": 17979000000,
  "netProfit": 8365000000,
  "totalAssets": 221650000000,
  "equity": 75629000000,
  "netMarginPct": 10.82,
  "equityRatioPct": 34.12,
  "revenueGrowthPct": -5.06,
  "qualityFlags": [],
  "history": [{ "fiscalYear": 2025, "revenue": 77292000000, "netProfit": 8365000000 }]
}
```

### Data quality

- Amounts come straight from the registers. Values larger than 1,000 billion are treated as unit errors and removed.
- `qualityFlags` warns about numbers worth a second look, for example `balance_sheet_mismatch`, `not_audited`, `period_not_12_months`, `reported_in_USD`, `revenue_not_reported`, `net_margin_over_50pct_check_source` and `latest_accounts_older_than_2_years`.
- Norway: `employees` is the number registered on that legal entity (for a parent company this is not the whole group). Group accounts are returned when they exist (`accountBasis`: `consolidated`).
- France: only revenue and net profit are published in the open API, and only for companies that file public accounts. Many small companies have no figures and are skipped when `onlyWithFinancials` is on. The fiscal year label is the one used by the register.
- A company is only returned (and charged) when it passes your filters.

### What is left out

Sole proprietorships and other person-based forms (Norway: ENK, PERS; France: all entrepreneurs individuels and non-public entities) are always left out. Directors, board members, owners and other named people are never returned, and street addresses are not returned (city, postal code and region only).

### Sources and licences

- Norway: Brønnøysund Register Centre, Enhetsregisteret and Regnskapsregisteret, open data under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD 2.0). No registration needed.
- France: Recherche d'entreprises API (DINUM / data.gouv.fr) with INSEE Sirene and INPI/RNE data, Licence Ouverte 2.0 (Etalab). The API allows 7 requests per second; this Actor uses at most 1.

Each result carries a `source` field. Please keep that credit when you publish or share the data. This Actor is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of the registers. The data is provided as is and is not financial, credit or legal advice.

### How it behaves

The Actor reads only the two register APIs above, checks `robots.txt`, waits at least one second between requests, never contacts private or local addresses and stops if a register refuses a request. Charging is per company returned; a run stops cleanly when your maximum cost per run is reached.

### Limits

- Norway: the register publishes the three latest fiscal years; searches return at most 10,000 companies per query.
- Not covered: Denmark, Sweden and Finland (their open registers do not publish financial figures in a form that may be fetched automatically).
- Figures are as filed by the companies; amounts may be revised by later filings.

# Actor input Schema

## `country` (type: `string`):

Which register to read. Norway gives the full annual accounts (revenue, profit, balance sheet). France gives revenue and net profit.

## `companyIds` (type: `array`):

Norwegian organisation numbers (e.g. 923609016) or French SIREN numbers (e.g. 552032534), 9 digits. A 14-digit French SIRET is shortened to its SIREN. Up to 200.

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Search by company name (e.g. Equinor, Danone). Each name can match many companies; results are capped by 'Maximum companies'.

## `industryCodes` (type: `array`):

Filter by industry. Norway: NACE/SN2025 code or prefix, e.g. 62.100 (software) or 62. France: NAF code, e.g. 62.01Z (the full 5-character code).

## `regions` (type: `array`):

Norway: 4-digit municipality numbers (0301 = Oslo, 4601 = Bergen). France: department numbers (75 = Paris, 69 = Rhone, 2A = Corse-du-Sud).

## `legalForms` (type: `array`):

Norway: codes such as AS, ASA, SA. France: 4-digit nature juridique such as 5710 (SAS) or 5499 (SARL). Sole proprietorships are always left out.

## `minEmployees` (type: `integer`):

Only companies with at least this many employees. France uses the official size brackets, so the limit is approximate.

## `maxEmployees` (type: `integer`):

Only companies with at most this many employees.

## `minRevenue` (type: `integer`):

In the company's currency (NOK or EUR). Applied to the latest accounts. Norway: companies are checked one by one, so large filters take longer.

## `maxRevenue` (type: `integer`):

In the company's currency (NOK or EUR). Applied to the latest accounts.

## `minNetProfit` (type: `integer`):

Only companies whose latest net profit is at least this. Use a negative number to include losses.

## `maxNetProfit` (type: `integer`):

Only companies whose latest net profit is at most this (use 0 to find loss-makers).

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many companies (one result per company). Also limited by 'Maximum cost per run'.

## `yearsOfHistory` (type: `integer`):

How many fiscal years to include in each result (the registers publish up to 3).

## `includeHistory` (type: `boolean`):

Add a 'history' list with one entry per fiscal year.

## `accountBasis` (type: `string`):

Consolidated = group accounts when the company is a parent (default). Company = the single company's own accounts.

## `onlyWithFinancials` (type: `boolean`):

Skip companies without published accounts. You are only charged for companies that are returned.

## `activeOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Leave out closed companies in French searches.

## `contactEmail` (type: `string`):

Sent to the registers in the User-Agent so they can reach you. Optional.
